Bad brake/great service
This bike was a big upgrade for me and I'm really enjoying it! My last ride was a $175 Walmart dinosaur so naturally this is a big improvement. I ride 2-3 times a week on flat trails in Northwest Bay County Florida. This bike can probably handle more of the hardcore downhill stuff with some upgrades to the fork and drive train. Anyone interested in that would probably choose a different bike anyways. The SX system is the lowest end of the Sram Eagle series but perfect for my needs. I was using 26 inch wheels before (yeah, my bike was so old 26ers were still popular) so these 29ers are way better. The body on this bike looks and feels very high end. The seat is very padded and more comfy than I thought it would be. I had a full suspension before but loving the hardtail. It's just more simple and lightweight. It has not been uncomfortable to ride the way I use it. I like the 1ร12 system also. I won't need these easy gears too much since it's so flat here in Florida. I was a bit worried the gear range would be limited but I can definitely fly on this bike. It's pretty fast! I did have one problem with the front brake system. The hydraulic fluid had leaked out and the brake didn't work. There was an oily spot in the box. I took it down the road to the bike tech and he confirmed that. I was hoping he could fix it but he only replaces hydraulic systems. He was also backed up 3 weeks because everyone and their brother is buying bikes during Covid. I asked his opinion of the bike and he was impressed. I called Pacific Cycles and they sent me out a new break system. I came in 3 days and took 5 minutes to replace. I was naturally disappointed a bit when the bike came that way but still rating it high. Who knows what happened and the service after the sale was what mattered.

Excellent components for the price
Love this bike! Has a smooth ride like my Trek and handles really well. Havenโt hit any hard trails yet, so my review is based on 25-30 miles on hilly roads. The components are top notch and overall weight of the bike is under 27 lbs. Iโm 5โ8โ and orders a size SM, which is perfect.

Ready to go ride on some dirt!
This purchase was a splurge. Wanted to mountain bike to go ride around on the weekends and hit some trails with friends. First off I must admit I am a novice. As I know these bikes can get crazy technical and expensive, I would consider this a bike to be a good bang for your buck. The assembly was pretty straightforward. Just need some Allen Wrenches. Unpacking and assembly took me about 30-40 minutes. Bike feels very well built. Has nice front shocks and beefy tires. The bike is much more substantial than I anticipated. I got a Medium Frame and it fits great! I am about 5'8". It has some really nice components on it. So far it has been awesome! Hit a few trails last weekend and it performed great. Might upgrade the pedals to be more aggressive, but that is just so my feet stick more. Personal preference.
