The ultimate outdoor pet bed
I've had a dog bed that I've left outside in the backyard for my dog to hang out on for a while, and it's just deteriorated too much after a year or so to keep using it. It wasn't designed to be kept outside, it was just a typical dog bed from costco, so I should have expected it to not last outside, but it did its job while it stayed in good shape. About a week ago, I decided that it was just too dirty and damaged from the rain and such, so I decided to get a dog bed that's made to be kept outside, and I settled on this one. While it is pricy, it's huge (I got the 42x30 option at about $80), and pretty premium quality. It seems like it will last a long time, even after withstanding the elements for a few seasons. What I think that I like most is that it seems like you can easily just hose it off if it gets dirty. I have a tree above my very small backyard that gets its small leaves everywhere, and I can easily just pick this up and knock the leaves off and/or spray it with the hose for a few seconds and get it cleaned off. I think that it hopefully will also be good in the summer to help keep her off of the ground and maybe have some airflow underneath, though I'll have to wait until next year to see if that's the case. It was really easy to put together, it took me probably 2 minutes or less. I was a bit confused about how to get the bolster onto it with the elastic straps, but they just go all the way around the back legs, then the velcro straps go onto the legs just wherever they line up. It feels very sturdy. I found that it was easier to get the legs on if I insert one side of the leg on one of the pole, then rotate the leg and line up the other pole, then rotate it back towards the pole to insert it. Hopefully that makes sense, it just seemed much easier than trying to force the leg in straight on.

Great Dog Cot!
So far my dog loves her bed! The frame is lightweight & the bed was easy to assemble. I originally intended to use this outdoors but a been a nice little space for her to go to in the living room without lying directly on the carpet. Mud cleans up pretty easy with a wet washcloth & it also responds well to vacuuming & lint rolling. Also really like the little cushion around the edge as she likes to lay her head on it when sleeping!

Good but noisy.
It looks great and it's easy to clean. My only complaint is that you can hear it when your dog gets on it. I bought it for bedroom use at night but unfortunately I had to take it to the living room. I have another bed like this from another company and it doesn't make a sound.

Finally! A Bed Our Great Dane Rescue Will Lay On - Other Than Ours!
Fed up! We have three large dogs - a full size golden retriever, full size goldendoodle, and a great dane. Our golden retriever is our oldest and she had always been allowed on our bed and furniture. We added our doodle to the mix who then followed suit. It wasn't an issue until I get pregnant and bed went from crowded to sardine can. So we got the dogs regular beds and they got used to laying in them. The problem was that the memory foam has a bad issue of capturing that dog smell and never ever lets go - no matter how many times I washed them, sprayed them down, vacuumed them, or left them outside to "air out". With the two memory foam beds and the couch, our house began to get a little doggy smelling. We then moved into a new house with no carpet. That certainly helped to reduce the smell but the beds were still an issue and then they became a major trip hazard. So we ditched the memory foam beds and gave in to the doggies sleeping on the bed again. Well we added a very skittish and very sad great dane rescue to our pack. The only way that dude would stop pacing the house or even lay down was if he was on the bed, too. And the man just HAD to sleep in a ball by our heads like a cat. So now we had three large dogs in our bed. Well of course, my husband finds this to be too much and begins sleeping in the guest bed and I had a bone to pick with that. We needed a solution. The bed was over crowded and STUNK which made our beautiful new house smell, too. I remembered after my golden had knee surgery, the vet recommended a cot for her to lay. It would keep her cool and it was easier on her joints. So I found these beds in the hope that I could somehow get our dogs, 2 of which are very nervous and skittish by nature, to sleep on them. Well with very little but gentle coaxing, all three of them began to lay on them. The human bed is now dog free and smell free and since these cots aren't memory foam, our room actually doesn't smell like a dog anymore. Our great dane no longer paces and loves laying on his cot on the floor right beside me. Everyone is happy!!
