I was skeptical about engineered wood furniture and the sturdiness of it, but have been pleased with the quality. Still not as nice as solid wood but the price is decent for this piece, and looks better than the folding table I was using :) Shipping packaging is very good, even with some damage to the outside box, no major damage to product. There are some small scuffs but not worth returning. Easy to assemble, just don’t over tighten the cams. I also purchased the matching accent storage cabinet and file cabinet. Same results- all sturdy items.

Beautiful Desk, sturdy and really good buy for the money. It was put together by 1 person in less than 2 hours.

Received the desk earlier in the day which was a nice surprise. My friend came to help put together. It took her and I about 3 hours - but a lot of that time was spent laughing at each other. I couldn't be happier with the color. It is a muted black almost a weathered look and I love it. It actually smells amazing too! One thing - as we got to the last piece which fits over the cabinet, we saw the piece did NOT have the pre-drilled holes! What a bummer that was to have gotten almost finished and then couldn't complete it. I called there customer service which would have been 7:10 EST. Even though the pamphlet said they were open until 7:30 pm, they were not. I called at 5 a.m. the next morning and they placed an order for the replacement part. Now, I just found out it is going to take 3-5 days to get the item, then FEDEX will take another 3-5 days to get it to me. So for now, I have "half" a desk. Still worth the money and I am very happy. I gave it 4 stars because of the amount of time I have to wait. But I would recommend this to everyone. (I got spoiled with Amazon overnight delivery I guess - and now expect it from everyone! HA)

The desk is absolutely beautiful. I am thrilled! It took several hours to assemble but it went together very easily. The color and details are very nice. My only complaint was the shipping. It was estimated to be delivered about 2 weeks out. The hutch got here within 3-4 days. The desk was shipped out and said it would be delivered the next day. On the next day it got delayed and so on and so forth. It still made it early, but seeing it constantly delayed for delivery was frustrating. When it arrived the packaging looked rough. I think it fell off the truck and someone patched it up and sent it on anyway. However, when we opened it up the desk pieces were just fine. It was padded enough to protect it. I truly love this desk. I went ahead and ordered a cabinet to match.

So far so good. The desk was pretty easy to put together but did take some time. The desk did require 2 people at some steps. I think it took us about 2 hours to put the desk together. I left the having off of the drawer and cabinet to allow for wires. Also didn't install the shelf so there would be room for my computer tower and battery backup. My husband put the filing cabinet together by himself. It took a couple of hours and he said it was kind of a pain in the butt due to small screws and many parts. When putting everything together I did not notice that the surface scratches easy, which was a complaint I saw in the reviews before I bought it. Also, both pieces are antique white, not gray. This was another complaint I saw in the reviews. I do plan to always use a coaster though to avoid rings and warping. The desk and filling cabinet are sturdy and all drawers open and close nicely without any banging. I only installed hanging files in the upper drawer of the filing cabinet. I plan to use the bottom drawer for storage. I hope this review helps. I read them all before purchasing.

6 months later review - the desk comes extremely heavy. Might require 2 people to move around. However, it is easy enough to assemble with great instructions and accurate cutouts. The desk itself is very sturdy and is currently holding 2 monitors. It doesn't move at all on a carpeted floor and has a decent amount of storage. For a non-standing desk, this is a great deal!

This desk looks great! I had the smaller version of this desk and upgraded, but decided to keep the smaller hutch and I love it. I’d really prefer to be able to buy a new smaller hutch(the 47 inch wide version) so it’s all new and crisp, but it wasn’t too hard to put together and it looks great!

The desk and hutch surpassed my expectations. The assembly went well, taking about 4 hours. We switched around the hutch because it suited my room better. The hardware is lovely. It is absolutely stunning and I have had many complimentary comments. There was one piece that ẁas cracked. I reported it to the company to request a replacement part. Customer service was excellent. I received the part in perfect condition shortly afterwards.

The directions were so easy to follow and all the pre-drilled holes were in the right place . So easy to put together and good quality.
