Philips Ultinon Pro7000 LED car signaling bulb (W21W red), 12V/24V

I've used the white LEDs to replace the standard filament bulbs for the reverse lights in my 2014 Touareg and they work really well. No errors, they're brighter than the standard bulbs, but not excessively, whilst also looking much more modern. Like for like fit, although they're a little more expensive, they quality and performance makes them better value than some of the cheaper LEDs you find.

Dissapointed the first ones came unsealed & bulbs replaced with used ones. Replacement came the next day and they are perfect in my Kia Sportage 2024. My car had LEDs everywhere else except the vanity mirrors which is just penny pinching by Kia. All sorted now. They look great and look to be of high quality.

Great bright bulbs but a bit expensive.

Nice lights but I have a few criticisms. First, they are slightly longer than the original bulbs and therefore are pressing on the glass. I will probably change then to prevent breakage. Second, they're not very bright for an LED in my opinion. Third, the description says polarity free bur they actually only work if inserted the right way round, so the description is wrong. They look good installed, bur I'll have to change them due to size. No canbus error though, which is nice.

This triggered a permanent light failure error on the dashboard, meaning an MOT failure. I suggest you avoid this and look for a brand that is compatible with modern cars

Good bright bulbs, not driven with them yet, so can't say how long they'll last but just putting them in showed a big difference from old to new. In reality the LED are brighter than they look on the photo, there was a bigger difference in the old and new than the photo shows. Be careful to get them the right way up. or you have the bright brake lights on for the rear driving lights instead.

Brilliant, easy to fit on my focus and the quality is brilliant. Hate halogen so amazing replacement. No issues with use. Great value for money. They are bright orange and as my indicator bit is clear these are fantastic. Would recommend.

I bought the Philips Ultinon Pro7000 LED P21/5W Red bulbs for my 2010 Peugeot 3008, and they’ve made a huge difference. If you own one of these early 3008s, you’ll know they seem to chew through halogen bulbs like sweets—it’s a well-known quirk. I was fed up with constantly replacing them and wanted something brighter, longer-lasting, and simply more reliable. These bulbs aren’t cheap—in fact, I almost didn’t buy them because of the price. Sure, there are more affordable options made in countries that rhyme with diner, but you’ve got to ask yourself: these are the only lights that signal you’re slowing or stopping. Do you really want to risk a poor-quality bulb failing at the wrong time? I decided peace of mind was worth the extra cost. To fit them, I removed the taillight housing from the car, disconnected the electrical connector, took out the old bulbs, and installed the new LEDs. I found this easy, but each car is different, some more awkward than others. The Phillips bulbs fitted perfectly into the housings as if they were a halogen bulb. Before reassembling everything, it’s important to test them. Ask a friend or family member to press the brake pedal with the ignition on. First, check brake light function with the headlights off. Then turn the headlights on to verify the tail light function, and once again press the brake to make sure both modes work together as they should. If everything looks good, go ahead and reassemble the housing. The colour output is where these bulbs truly stand out. Most LED P21/5W replacements are white LEDs. Time to get technical, this are around 6000–6500K on the Kelvin scale, which gives a cold, bluish-white light. Halogen bulbs are closer to 3000K, with a much warmer tone. When you put either one behind a red tail light lens, the red lens has to filter out non-red wavelengths. That often results in a dull, weak, or even pinkish light, especially with white LEDs. But these Philips LEDs emit true pure red light, meaning no filtering is needed. The result is a deep, rich, and very visible pure red that looks clean and is visible, day or night. They also respond instantly—as soon as you press the brake pedal, they’re at full brightness—which adds an extra bit of safety. Now, a heads-up: my car does think the brake lights are faulty with these installed. There’s no flashing warning light or beeping, but when I checked the warning log in the car’s trip computer/radio menu, it showed a bulb fault. This happens because LEDs draw less current than halogen bulbs—the car interprets this lower resistance as a bulb failure even though everything works fine. This kind of error is car-specific—some vehicles handle LED swaps without issue, others like mine will quietly log it as a fault (others not so quietly). However, as the car isn’t flashing or beeping at me, I can live with that. It doesn’t affect function, and the lights still perform flawlessly. Final verdict: Yes, they’re expensive—but in return you get increased visibility, instant response, and a deep, true red light that looks and feels premium. If you’re upgrading from halogens and want a safer, more noticeable rear light, these are well worth considering. Legal note (UK): Brake and tail lights are classified as obligatory lamps under the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989. Technically, unless the vehicle was originally equipped with LED brake/tail lights, fitting aftermarket LED bulbs is not road legal, as they may not comply with ECE Regulation 37 (which governs filament bulb replacements). As they are technically not legal for road use in the UK, you could face a roadside fixed penalty notice from the Police of £50 per non-compliant bulb or fail an MOT. That said, I’ve had these installed for a while with no issues. I haven’t been stopped by police, but as for the MOT, I won’t know for sure until it's due. Always check your local laws and legislation and vehicle requirements before fitting LED bulbs in safety critical positions. Ultimately, it is up to you if you risk having these installed.

La luce a 4.000K bianco caldo è elegante e ben bilanciata: molto più moderna rispetto alle lampadine alogene originali, ma senza risultare troppo fredda o artificiale. L’installazione è stata semplice e immediata, perfettamente compatibili con l’alloggiamento del Freelander. La luminosità è uniforme, ben visibile e pulita, migliorando nettamente l’aspetto delle luci di segnalazione. A distanza di 4 mesi dall’installazione tutto è rimasto perfetto: nessun calo di luminosità, nessun sfarfallio e nessun errore segnalato. La qualità costruttiva Philips conferma affidabilità e durata nel tempo. Consigliate a chi cerca un upgrade discreto ma di qualità, mantenendo uno stile sobrio e premium.

The bulbs is very bright but still show error in my car! My regular bulb in 12V, this is also mentioned 12V - really dont know why it is still show error! Got reply from Philips - for some car models cambus is required. So check your car or buy with cambus to avoid error.
