High Gain Volume Pedal

I bought this as an entry level volume pedal for my lap steel, but it's just not exactly what it's for. It truly is a high-gain volume pedal, designed for high-gain instruments. There's not a lot of swelling you can do. You have to move your foot in tiny amounts to bring the volume up gradually, but really there are only a couple settings this thing hits. 0, 25%, 75%, and full volume. Not for me, I sold it for $40 on eBay.

I used to have one of these and changed it into a homemade wah wah. Now I wanted a volume pedal again. Service was fantastic

I have to award this volume pedal with 4 stars, since i have needs that this pedal is quite lacking, 1st: I did the minimum volume fix, but there's still a little bit signal coming through, very minor since you could only hear it on high amp volumes, 2nd: the travel sweep is kind of short and it takes time to get used to since you cannot adjust the tension of the pedal, so if your feet is heavy, you won't get the smooth volume swell right away, practice is key. It doesn't suck any tone even though it's passive, well i don't notice any tone loss.All in all, it's built like a tank, does a really good job, it's quite a starter level volume pedal, that's what i've expected since i'm new to volume pedals. :) but for the price, it's a win-win pedal, it can definitely outlive you.Sound: 5/5Durability: 6/5Features: 3/5 (it's a volume pedal what can i say more. but the tension adjustment is really useful but it's lacking)

This pedal may not be for everybody, but I love it. The volume control on my Fender Hotrod Deluxe can be a little tricky; the same is true with the volume control on my Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret. This pedal allows me use the volume controls on these devices while maintaining complete control of the volume. I've used it as follows:Guitar --> Xotic SP Compressor --> BBE Green Screamer --> BBE 427 Distortion --> Catalinbread DLS -->Dunlop Volume Pedal --> BBE Mind Bender Chorus --> MXR Phase --> BBE Two Timer.This arrangement allows all of the distortion and overdrive pedals to work as they should with optimum control and minimal noise. Moreover, it makes it easy for me to adjust my volume as I switch from rhythm to lead playing.The pedal seems well built, it doesn't require power, and it doesn't seem to color the sound of my guitar. The only odd thing is the name--this doesn't add gain.

Other than several effects pedals that I purchased through Amazon, the Dunlop High Gain Volume Pedal is probably one of the best and essential pieces of musical equipment I have ever purchased!The Dunlop volume pedal now allows me to rise above the rest of the music to play guitar riffs or solos without changing the chord playing sound of my guitar if I so desire. The pedal is very receptive, and the sound doesn't get thin or wimpy when playing the pedal at lees than full volume like other pedals that I've heard and tried do! No more fumbling with guitar volume knobs which would usually change the tone of the guitar, especially when playing both neck and bridge pickups together.I should have bought one of the babies a long time ago! To anyone looking for a receptive volume pedal which doesn't lose its edge and remains true even when not played at "full throttle", then this Dunlop volume pedal is for you -- and the one that I recommend!

I use this a lot. Its not the sturdiest but I'm no professional. I've owned it for over 5 years now using it at least once a week on average and it hasn't failed yet. I get no noise or interference. Its fairly reactive when choosing my level while playing. It requires no maintenance. It could be smaller and I wouldn't mind, but its the same size as most others you look at. I did not mind paying the price on this one.

This is a really great pedal. When you set it up with your guitar and amp, you don't need to take your hands off the neck to adjust your volume, higher or lower, just use this pedal to adjust the volume you need. It is also very smooth in the transition up or down and doesn't make any noise what so ever, either when not in use or making volume changes. This pedal is well made and absolutely steady on the floor. In other words, it will stay exactly where you put it. I chose Dunlop because Jim Dunlop has been in business a long time with a lot of quality products on the market. Most of them are very reasonably priced and again well made. If your looking for a volume pedal, at a good price....this is the one.

Matches my CryBaby so that's a plus, I lamely admit. :) It does the job. I need to get used to it though because the swell is different than on my previous pedal, which was attached to a BOSS ME70 pedal board I donated to another guitarist's cause. Not sure I'll ever get that nuance back in the early stage. Seems to jump in too fast.

sinceramente non avrei pagato tanto, non per colpa di amazon, ma di dunlop, il prodotto è ottimo ci mancherebbe ma secondo me è troppo alto il prezzo, dovrebbe costare al massimo 50/60 euro, visto che è un circuito passivo base base...in ogni caso devo dire che probabilmente è uno dei migliori pedali volume in circolazione, ha il feeling dei classici wah, derivato da esso lo chassis, e l'escursione è perfetta da 0 volume fino al massimo, gli effetti di swell vengono alla perfezione.lo consiglio se non volete perdere tempo a cercare un pedale dal rapporto qualità/prezzo migliore a scapito di innumerevoli prove e parecchie delusioni.

Un prodotto che ha fatto storia nella categoria. Solido, pesante, molto ben fatto.Essendo un pedale "pasivo", non necessita di alimentazione.Forse - ma e' una sensazione personale - una escursione più lunga della corsa del pedale l'avrebbe reso più semplice da utilizzare ma, ripeto, probabilmente è una mia sensazione. Un professionista sicuramente lo giudicherebbe perfetto.

A swell pedal is a major part of my sound and I've used an Ernie Ball pedal for years but this is much better. My only reservation is that it always defaults back to full on, there is no opportunity to set it at a pitch and leave it there. Not essential but it would be nice.
