MADE TO ROAM Premium Explorer Harness - Y-Shaped Dog Harness with Adjustable Durable Nylon, Soft Padding, Metal Buckles and Leather Handle for Small, Medium, Large Dogs (Oregon Haze, Size 5)

My dog is almost 11 and has neck strain. I was told, by her vet, she must have a harness moving forward. I have harnesses, a few. I use them for in the car to seatbelt her in. And she keeps them on, in the car. Outside the car, she’s a basset hound Houdini and within a split second and some wriggles and side-to-side movements, she’s out. They are all step-in. I decided to try this because it wears differently (over the head and clip on each side) and it looked well made. It IS well made. VERY well made. I’m so impressed with the quality of this harness. I’m equally impressed that it’s easy to adjust unlike some harnesses. It’s so easy to put on my dog and it’s well padded. The connectors, latches and belt loops are all metal not plastic. All the materials, padding, etc are excellent quality. I expect this will last a long time. This harness is a great value for the price. Additionally, it fits my dog so well that she cannot wriggle her way out and actually, she isn’t trying either. She seems to be very comfortable with it.

Excellent quality, very sturdy and well made. I upgraded to this harness after my young dog chewed through his last one. This one is the real deal. He looks so handsome in it and doesn't seem to mind wearing it. He's comfortable and I am so much more at ease knowing he's safe, comfortable, and won't be breaking it or slipping out of it. It's a little pricey but it's WELL worth the money. It goes on over the dogs head, and has two clips on either side to fasten it in place. Adjustable in many different areas, and the slides stay where you put them. He also looks VERY handsome in it. Can't say enough good things about it. Been using it for a few months now and it's in perfect condition.

This is the second ROAM harness that I bought for my growing 95 lb. Cane Corso. I have always owned large and Giant furbabies, so Security, quality, and comfort are big factors for me. Typically, the larger the dog, the harder it becomes to find a strong, durable harness that has all the right requirements. I really like this harness for her. It is low enough that it does not choke her...she has a bad gag reflex. The material feels and has demonstrated that it is strong and durable. The various colors are beautiful, and I believe, unique. The padding seems thick, yet not to stuffy and seems to be in all the right places. My girl has not had any rubbing or chafing. She is hard headed, so we are still working on excitement and pulling issues. The small control handle has a leather cover, and although it seems small for the harness size, is quite effective in taking control. Amara, my pup, is extremely strong and the handle has yet to rip or even feel like it is about to give. The adjustment straps are nice and easy to figure out. They don't take you an hour trying to figure out where and how to tighten or loosen the harness. Much of the time you can tighten or loosen the harness while it is still attached to your furbaby. The sizes overlap a little, giving you some leeway in sizing while your dog is still growing. Obviously, I still recommend measuring your dog with the size chart for proper fit. The clasps that attach to each side are a nice, sturdy metal. My only issues with the clasps is that they sometimes take a minute to try to find the right angle to clasp and secure them in place. However, this is a minor issue for me. I have no trouble with my pup trying to slip out of her harness, as much as she may try. I won't say that there are not some expert escape artists out there and that this will definitely keep all dogs from slipping their harness. However, overall I believe it is a pretty good harness when it comes to escape artists. The width of the harness around the neck and chest, I believe, make it harder for dogs to get out of it. So far, I have not had a problem with the harness loosening while walking my wild child. I am very pleased with that. I have not had the fear of her harness loosening while out and about and her getting free. That has been a frustrating issue with many harnesses throughout my lifetime of owning dogs. Overall, I love this harness, and will continue to buy this particular harness for as long as I am able. Amara seems happy with it. It doesn't choke her. I feel less fearful that she will get out of it, and is made of strong and durable material.

REVISED REVIEW: After receiving my first harness that was a used harness someone returned, I reached out to the company ROAM and received a response very quickly. Obviously they cannot control Amazon’s process and poor processes, but they were apologetic and wanted to replace it free of charge and gave a regular matching ROAM dog collar free of charge. I was very impressed with their customer service. So far the harness has been great. It fits my 5 month old English cream golden retriever well (size 3 currently) and still has a lot of room to grow with it. Size 3 is the last size where the material is 1” I believe. The matching collar in the bigger 1.5” looked to big/stiff and uncomfortable for her. The fit is great. She doesn’t seem to notice it on until she pulls on the leash. The overall energy from pulling impacts her core body and NOT just her neck. Lots of padding in the right places and have had no running problems. The buckles are very durable, yet are very smooth with clipping it on and off. ROAM is a great harness made by a good company with excellent customer service. Amazon should be held accountable for all their errors they make that cost customers and the product maker time and money yet Amazon gets off free for being lazy. ORIGINAL REVIEW:Complete disbelief when I opened my ROAM package to find obviously a returned, torn, dirty harness or maybe a disgruntled Amazon/ROAM employee? Regardless, it may be silly, but I was excited for this harness to come to go pick up my new English Cream Golden puppy from across the US. I’ve looked at the colors, the hardware, measurements- all to fit her perfect and keep her safe (of course she would have looked amazing in it too 😉) and now I’m stuck with making due findings something on the way. How does this happen? Is there no quality control? Nobody check items that are returned or sent out to customers?!! I’ve reached out to the company to hopefully get a ‘New’ harness. I purchased 1- 48” leash, 1 - 60” leash, a size 4 Explorer harness and a size 5- all to make sure I would have the correct sizing and fit to bring her home & the plan still failed :/ Overall I could tell the quality of materials on seems top notch. Colors are beautiful, buckles open and close very easily and smooth. However it does appear the material was no match for a pooch who wanted loose to go on an adventure!

This is a great harness, and is just as capable in the wilderness as it is walking a suburban neighborhood. First off, it is clearly designed by dog people. The leash connection points are where I wanted them, the buckles (mini Cobra style buckles) are high and behind the shoulders, but not where they’ll get caught on foliage or whatever, and the padding on the harness is where it should be. The handle clearly doubles as a seat belt loop for car rides. So many over-the-counter harnesses are total trash, it’s refreshing to finally have in my hands something designed with intelligence and a dog-forward thought process. The construction is high quality, and you can see that the stitching is well done and is super durable. It is very close to the stitching on my climbing gear, and that gives me peace of mind that this will last a long time. The materials are also high quality and clearly durable. The connection rings are sturdy and thick, the webbing is strong, and the padding isn’t cheap rubber. The buckles are metal and there is a leather wrap on the handle. The colors are not cheaply dyed into the fabrics, either. This is going to last a long time. I am very happy with this. If you are on the fence about size, get the next size up. This harness is easy to adjust and the webbing keepers are well placed. I haven’t had a chance to run it through the washing machine yet, which regardless of “care instructions” we all know that’s exactly how we’re going to clean it, but I’m confident it will be fine. My only complaint is that there is not either a hook & loop patch along the top to place a nametape, or a reflective PVC patch on the top to write in a name with a marker. 10/10 This is the harness I wish I had 15 years ago for all our puppers! Well done!

The MADE TO ROAM Premium Explorer Harness is extremely well-made—no doubt about that. The materials are top-notch, with durable nylon, solid metal buckles, soft padding, and a nice leather handle that gives you extra control when needed. The design is secure and comfortable, and I love the Y-shape which allows for a more natural range of motion. However, be warned—the sizing runs off. I ordered Size 6 based on the chart, and it was far too large for my dog, even though their measurements matched the guide. The adjustments didn’t compensate enough to make it a secure fit, which is disappointing for such a well-designed product. I’d recommend sizing down or contacting the seller with exact measurements before ordering. That said, if you get the right size, it’s an excellent harness that combines style, function, and durability. Just be cautious with sizing to avoid the hassle of returns or exchanges.

In the past I’ve purchased a collar from Made To Roam so when I needed a harness and collar for my other pup it was a no brainer. Both their collars and harnesses are amazingly sturdy products that have been top quality for my Berner and my Poodle boy. The harness was easy to put on my deep chested (75ish lb) Berner and was really padded around her armpit area and neck. She fit a size 5 in both collar and harness perfectly with mild adjusting. Both the collar and harness fit beautifully together on her and the metal clasp design makes it super easy to click together without being worried it would break like most plastic clasps on other collars. It isn’t heavy on her and the beautiful colors are a big bonus! I don’t have a use for the handle on the harness but I’m sure there will come a time that I find a reason to as I free range her a lot so that’s also a cool feature to have. It’s subtle enough to not even notice though. I’ve ordered a lot of things from Amazon but this by far is the best company that I’ve discovered. 10/10 will purchase again when the time comes. This harness is perfect. It is durable and comfortable in my pooch. The clasps are hardy and the build is flexible enough to for my pup to easily move around and not be restricted. The leather handle is functional and durable. I have a red heeler that is about t months old and this fit her perfect.

Desde hace un tiempo llevaba queriendo comprar un buen arnés para mi perro, solíamos tener uno pero era muy grande y robusto, deseaba algo mas ligero y fácil de poner, entonces encontré este y no voy a negar que lo dude mucho por el precio ya que no era tan accesible pero al final lo compré en el color Nevada Evening (qué es como un color Terracota) en talla 5 y no puedo estar mas qué feliz! Pesa un poco, pero no es nada molesto, tiene un diseño bastante simple y fácil de poner, es simplemente increíble! El asa me ayuda mucho en momentos en los que necesito tener a mi perro junto a mi y la ebilla al final es ideal para evitar que la correa se enrede (era un problema que tenía con su arnés anterior ya que la ebilla iba en medio y no hasta el final, haciendo que se enredara con los broches) Recomiendo mucho medir bien a sus perritos y no guiarse mucho del color de las imágenes ya que cambian un poco, como referencia mi perro es un Pastor belga de 26 kilos

We recently bought this harness for our rescue dog, who has just joined our family. We hike a lot, so finding a comfortable, high-quality harness was very important to us. We are very happy with our purchase. The harness fits him beautifully and seems very comfortable. It doesn’t appear to rub or restrict his movement, and the Y-shaped design gives him great freedom in his shoulders. The quality is excellent. The stitching is precise, the materials feel premium, and the metal buckles and hardware are sturdy, secure, and easy to use. The design is simply gorgeous. The colours are elegant, the overall look is beautiful, and we’ve already received compliments from people on our walks. We are planning to buy the same harness for our first dog.

This is by far my favourite harness. It’s light weight, strong and is padded. It’s the only one that fits my puppy properly that I have tried. It stays in place nicely as the many others I have purchased doesn't. It’s even great for small dogs that have a small scapular area.

Excelente pechera, se nota por mucho la gran calidad de los materiales solo como consejo chequen muy bien la talla de sus perros en mi caso me equivoque y pedí una talla mas pequeña sin embargo aun así por el ajuste que se le puede hacer le quedo perfecta, vale totalmente la pena

Ya llevaba rato buscando una pechera para mi dálmata, pero limitaban los movimientos de las patas al correr, por un momento pensé que sería un poco más gruesa y pesada, pero es liviana y muy bonita, aparte, el color no varía mucho con la imagen, es fácil de poner y quitar. Así que es muy recomendable
