These syringes are great! We bought 5 of them over a year ago and they are still going strong. People are complaining that the numbers wear off...that's true with any syringe you use because of the FDA approved ink. Just put clear tape or nail polish over it and viola, problem solved. Our plunger did break off like another poster's pictures, but it doesn't hinder the functionality of the syringe. I've also never had them leak, but we feed our kiddo Real Food Blends so maybe that's why. The syringes you get from insurance are such a waste. We just reuse these everyday, soaking them in hot, soapy water at night with the rest of the syringes we use.

I have to syringe-feed my cat, and I've tried all sorts of syringes. Previously I re-used disposable syringes but after a few uses, the plunger becomes much harder to press or pull through and ultimately breaks, causing me to need to regularly reorder syringes. I've been using these about 10 days now and I've had no such issue; they're smooth in and out every time, even when I blend dry food with wet food (to add calorie density). I didn't have issues with the ink labels washing off, but I put Scotch tape over them regardless to prevent that just in case. The size is right, the ease of use is excellent and given the reusability, it's well worth the money. They also come with caps which I've found very helpful.

I am enjoying these syringes immensely! We have special needs rabbits that have to be fed with replacement feedings for additional nutrients while recovering. I have ordered FOREVER 60cc syringes that last if lucky a week. Regular feeding syringes after just a few uses don’t glide anymore. Extremely difficult to push the food through even you try to extend with using olive oil on the plunger. I ran a across your syringes and thought I would give them a go. #1- They glide smoothly 2#very easy to push through food #3 have not lost the easy glide #4 easy to clean #5 safer to use. I know that eventually they will wear out. Am still on the first syringe and have used 33 times and it still feels like the first use. They are extremely affordable especially when you don’t have to replace every week like the typical feeding syringe. Without a doubt would recommend to anyone that have animals that need syringe feedings and will tell everyone I know. I will try and update to let you know when this one wears out. Could be a while. Thank you for your syringes! They also save your hand from the strain of trying to push food through. If a person has arthritis or carpal tunnel try these you won’t be in pain. I ordered 5 and thank you for giving me one extra. Very kind. Our rabbits thank you as well. The tip is also smoother so not so rough on the bunnies tongue or mouth. We've been using BASIK Syringes for my mother's tube feedings for the past three years and loooove them! They're only syringes that last more than one or two meals. They're easy to keep clean and use. As of our last purchase in June 2024, the design has been upgraded slightly. The barrel is narrower, the tip is more tapered, and the plunger is slightly longer from the back of the flange to the thumb rest. We've used two out of this new package, and while not a deal breaker, the tips drip a tiny bit by the time you get it inserted into feeding tube port. The old design never dripped. Also, the excess length of the plunger makes it difficult to fill the syringe to the 60ml and be able to stretch your thumb out enough to meet the thumb rest. This means we're filling the syringe to about 50 - 50.5ml for each round. This might not be a problem for folks with larger hands, but not everyone is a large. Again, not a deal breaker, but when you're using it for meals, sometimes those extra ml's make a difference in how long it takes you to get the job done. Otherwise, they still work smoothly and last a long time. Just hope they rethink the redesign. Sometimes newer isn't better.

I had to tube feed my sick cat for 42 days and the 60 cc syringes that were given to me by my vet's office became difficult to use after about two days. The rubber piece on the end of the plunger became difficult to slide through the syringe. I read online in an article, based on tube feeding a cat with Hepatic Lipidosis (that's what my cat had) and the article suggested using O-ring catheters. What a difference it made to have this type of syringe. It made a complicated process easier. These were great! They were used 4 times a day for more that 35 days and worked as well on the last day as they did the first day. And the great news is that I no longer needed them because my cat recovered!!

The cost is worth it - as opposed to the non-Oring syringes that need to be discarded after one or two uses and are a pain to use (and if your vet charges you for useless syringes). These syringes glide easily, are easily rinsed/washed, and can be used for AT LEAST a month or more per syringe (typically, 35-50 days per syringe, when you're feeding a pet 4 times a day or more, you need a syringe that will glide smoothly, consistently). When you have a pet with a surgically placed feeding tube (E-tube, NG-tube, Peg-tube etc), these are a lifesaver, cost-saver, and so comfortable for both you and pet while administering food. I would only advise putting scotch tape over the measuring lines as the ink wears off after repeated use/washing (or re-mark them with a sharpie before they wear off).

Bought because standard syringes are single use only, and the reviews stated people were still getting multiple uses out of these. Have used mine now just a couple of times, and they are getting very stiff to use after washing gently. Will be starting to lube with mineral oil to hopefully last longer, to keep giving my horse his oral medicine.

My son is tube fed and his supply company sends out 4 60cc syringes a month...but they dont last, they have the black rubber plunger thing. I bought these June 2019, we have been using the same 1 syringe (bought a pack of 5) for 10 months! The writing were off a while back but it has been just as smooth as day 1. We finally had to get a second one from our pack of five because we misplaced the plunger. These syringes are incredible and well worth every penny. My son eats a "real food blend" formula 6 times a day thru his feeding tube, so the syringe is washed very often, and still help up for 10 months!! I'm impressed!

By far the best syringe I have ever purchased. Unlike most others, this syringe can be re-used many times. I purchased a pack 3 months ago, and have used only 1 of the syringes so far--used for enteral feeding multiple times per day. The ring remains supple, no sticking, easy to clean. Very heartily recommend this product as it will save you frustration and money in the long-run.
