4 months little to no use and now it won’t turn on. Do not buy

I am using this inverter inline as a battery backup with my utility grid; no PV, and not off-grid. This inverter seems to be using power from my batteries, and because of that it is constantly cycling from drawing battery power and charging, mostly constant charging, even when this feature is OFF. Its not drawing power and supplying out, it's just consuming and recharging, forever. Thats just extra consumption I'll see on my utility bill. Number 2 is the web app, or lack thereof. The manual just says "easily control through the app" but not what app. The app I found that works (solarman pro) doesn't allow any control, only monitoring and its not the greatest to access that information. Fourth would be the terminals for AC, could be better and larger (#6AWG barely fits). Two stars because it's fairly well built, easy to use and UL listed and WHEN doing what its supposed to (DC to AC inverter) it does well, fast, and quiet enough for the price. It seems to not care now if I disconnect the batteries, it just alarms low DC voltage, continues to try and charge, while acting as a pass though from grid to house. Even if that seems dangerous, im ok with it as it allows maintenance on my battery side without losing power to the circuits its backing up.

Bought this solar charger/inverter as an upgrade to a single phase 3500 w charger/inverter. Installation was straight forward and when I ran into a small issue with setup, support was very responsive, they get back to you within 24 hours. Super happy with the product. Now am able to install 220v 2p breakers for well pump and stove. Love that there are 2 PV inputs abd each take significantly more volts and amps. I was able to take all my solar panels and hook them up in series rather than multiple parallels as I had in my old system. I still have a free PV input so if I need more power in the future adding solar panels would literally be plug and play. Easy setup, powerful, reliable and good support. I would have no issues recommending this product... as a matter of fact I did just that a few weeks ago to a friend who I looking to setup solar. My setup is 100% off grid so I am not using the AC input, but it's there for a system that's grid tied in. Also has a breaker on that input built into the box which I have not seen on other models. I have not been able to test the app as it requires connection to a router with an internet connection which I don't have onsite. May setup my phone as a hotspot and try that, but the system works well and has a battery indicator on the display so for my purposes, that is fine.

When I bought this (8000w model) I thought this would be great. It would replace my Growatt 5000w model. It would accept more PV panels I could Run it in 240v at 2 phase. And it would use a 60 amp breaker for the AC out let (according to the manual) meaning more AC output.. I hooked it up and only had to change the battery setting and it worked fine... UNTIL... I have a thirty amp trailer. So I'm sitting the first day everything is fine than -BAM. My electric goes out. Now the main switch in the breaker box of the trailer is 30 amp. So if you run too much load the breaker will trip. So i had the AC going and the hot water heater on... That's ok. But I forgot the WH was on and when I turned on the microwave the power went out. So I turned off the WH. And went over to the breaker box to flip the 30 amp breaker, thinking it had teipped. BUT it was not tripped. So I went out to check the solar system. Sure enough the inverter had shut down. I think it was code 14. Hard to tell because the screen is SO DIM. It threw an error code so I had to call support. They said it was a code that says the AC output was too much. And I said it wasn't even 30 amps... Because my breakers didn't even trip.. So the guy says that's right. This model only puts out 27 amps AC out out. I said, well that can't be right, the manual calls for a 60 amp breaker in 2p 240. The specs in the manual say nothing about the low ac output He says it is on the sticker.. I said well when I bought this nowhere in the add did it mention AC out put and, besides that, nethier did the manual. My 5000w. Growatt puts out more amps. How can that be possible? The electric I used wasn't even enough to trip the 30 amp breaker in the trailers main panel. This is pathetic.... Had I known that I would have gotten the 10000w model. So now I am going to try to see if the seller will take it back so I can get the.10000w one. I'll update the results.

Works very good. Had no trouble with the installation. The screens are easy to navigate. The integrated Wi-Fi that comes with it works really well. Already been installed two days and working as designed. Updated, three weeks installed. No problem with the system. I contacted customer support for a question on minimum photovoltaic voltage. Customer support rep replied to me within 24 hours. then followed up with me three days later to be sure the product is working right. It just works exactly the way it was intended to work. Positive results on all describe features. ••• update, I have been working with Sungold for quite some time. This is really been a great experience with these people. They answer absolutely every phone call or message that I’ve had to send. None of it has been their fault it has been the fault of my electric provider. I completely recommend this company and the support they have given has been fantastic.!•••

This inverter is awesome! It’s the 2nd one I’ve bought. Easy setup with step by step instructions. One has enough power for my cabin but I got a 2nd to run parallel to be safe. I’m running 240 volts split phase which powers all of the lights, septic pump, well pump, and water heater and more. I am very happy with my purchase.

This unit will only get you 4000 W per leg plus nowhere Does it tell you how to find The app to use the Wi-Fi. I hate having to send it back, but it's my only choice so far. Amazon dropped the ball on this somewhat.
