Can this be used on a Canvas along with oil paint?

Not sure - used it to gold leaf plastic object but it seemed to stick ok with gold leaf adhesive. It’s very delicate to handle and tears really easily.

Can you use this it on plastic?

yes, either wash the plastic with white spirit to clean it or abrade it lightly to give the glue something to bind to.
