KastKing Rover Round Baitcasting Fishing Reels, Perfect Reel for Catfish

I have disassembled this reel. On first look the cap screw holding the handle seemed misaligned with the keeper. I was incorrect in my visual assessment as there are multiple steps on the keeper. I broke this down further due to some negative reviews. The reel is silky smooth. There is no resistance as some had said. When I open the case the reel was lubed although some said it was dry. I did find the reel is well put together. As I reassembled the unit I added some silicon grease to the o rings which made assembly smooth and will keep the o rings supple for the cast control knobs. Perhaps some retailers are trying to disrespect these reels because they are not big names. I haven't been on the water yet but will update after a big trip at the end of May. I am happy with my purchase so far.

Hard to imagine a reel of this quality for the price. Completely satisfied. Have lots of kast king stuff. Best price quality balance out there. BTW, first one arrived completely damaged in shipping, not fault of kastking and they still immediately replaced it hassle free. Great company.

i would not recommend this to anyone, we bought 3 reels to fit 500 yards of line on each, we got through all 3 reels and did not even finish the 2nd roll yet, none of the charts for the reels are correct, ended up throwing away and bought penns

Looks and feels pretty good. It's no penn, but for the price it seems good quality.

First off don't know if it was my fault but I wanted a right-handed 70 got a left hand 80. Product seems to be sturdy and well-built but first time out clicker stopped working drag keeps changing. I can deal with the left hand but really wanted all the features to work properly. Should have went with my first instinct and went with a Garcia

My Rover80 arrived with broken internals. All seemed well until I tried to cast and everytime I clicked the button to free-spool, my rig wouldn’t even lower. Every cast would be abruptly stopped mid cast for some odd reason. The line tension knob wasn’t working either, I set it as tight as possible to prevent backlash and my 1oz sinker would immediately drop to the floor instead of a smooth gradual speed. I seen the lose gear moving around loosely, so I opened up the reel with tools in an attempt to fix it myself and save me the hassle. Couldn’t fix it because there must’ve been bigger issues besides that single gear. Guess what opening up thee reel did? Voided my warranty, $76 out of my pocket. Save your money for a reputable brand like Penn, Shimano, Okuma, Daiwa, etc. Kast King mass produces Chinese quality garbage. Like slapping a sticker on a rusty piece of junk car.

This is a simple conventional reel. Finding a conventional reel with the handle on the left is not easy. Typically left handed reels of this size cost hundreds of dollars. Finding one for under a $100 that works well and smoothly is really rare. This reel stacks up well against the competition in all its mechanical properties and is a tremendous value.

I justed received my reel today was excited until I removed the packaging and found the box torn apart and the reel out of its package honestly not what I was expecting hopefully the reel isn't damaged but not happy with how I received this item.
