Highly recommend accurate testing thats easy to use
My local radon company told me to get this brand and product for its accuracy and ease of use. Holy cow the Instructions are clear and easy to follow. Literally open it set it, go to their website and when its done close it and mail it. They email you results. Did it before radon system installed. And did it again same product after.

Five Stars
Worked great for what I needed it to do. I will use these again to prove low levels of Radon (4 cPi/L or below) to people that believe: 1. that high Radon readings, above 4, give you lung cancer... it does not, and 2. people who think that these canisters actually measure Radon... they do not. If you want to actually measure Radon, hire a specialist with expensive equipment and pay $1,000 -$3,000 per test. These charcoal canisters are easy to use and the results come back quickly. The key is to handle the canister carefully when you open it and set it in a place where there are not a lot of people passing by or a lot of air movement. After 2-3 days, seal it back up with the tape and mail it back.

Hurry! Get your used and damaged test kit at Full Price while they last!
If small metal canisters are your thing, AccuStar has finally made a product you can stare at for hours! I felt like a toddler with a jar of rice as I shook the can repeatedly and marveled at the soothing sound of the pellets bouncing around inside. I feel sure there's something inside the canister, but part of the joy of this AccuStar product is the opportunity to use your imagination and wonder endlessly. Why? Because no amount of force, prayer, or legislation will remove the lid from the cylinder. Now I know you're thinking, "But don't I have to remove the lid to perform the radon test?" Well sure, but look on the bright side: you get a great upper body workout and a chance to exercise your fine motor skills for nearly half-an-hour, and it only cost $30! That's cheaper than a gym membership. Plus you'll spontaneously expand your vocabulary while trying to remove the lid as you curse Jesus, Budha, their mothers, and the donkeys they rode in on. Now, you might not have a lot of upper body strength, but don't worry - another customer has already loosened it up for you (or rather, tried to). Apparently, your $30 (New) canister comes with its own unique set of dents, scratches, and scars left behind by the customer who tried to remove the lid before - probably for the same low price of $30 (New). Mine was particularly unique - a dent from a flathead screwdriver at the seam, half-a-dozen small piercings from some type of ice pick or other sharp object, and the lingering echo of the previous customer cursing the heavens, his ancestry, and his progeny, as he was compelled to use brute force and possibly power tools only to fail at prying the lid loose. . In short, AccuStar sold someone a defective radon test kit, the customer tried and failed to open it, thereby damaging the case. It was returned. AccuStar, rather than disposing of the defective product, returned it to their stock, and sold it at full price to a different customer. In response, I have returned the product, driven 4 minutes down the street to the hardware store, turned all the AccuStar products on the shelf with their backs facing out, and purchased two of their competitors test kits. I don't even need the second one, I just bought it to help their competitor along. If you need a replacement hockey puck, or a good forearm workout, this is the radon test kit for you. I'm also getting a bit of fine motor exercise by flexing my middle finger every time I see or hear the name AccuStar.

Good Test Kit but Deceptive Regarding Free Shipping Back
I've used these test kits before and they perform well, and this past test was consistent with my prior experience. The feedback from the test was timely and consistent with an electronic radon detector i have been using. One minor irritant: a free USPS label for returning the unit to the lab after the test was completed was included with the kit; however, the instructions for the kit advise AGAINST using it, and instead use UPS or FedEx (discount rates are available according to the instructions. I think this is deceptive. I used the USPS label since the lab is an a state bordering on Maryland and had no problem with prompt delivery there.

I have used this at my moms house+ UPDATE- perfect service
I know there are a lot of complains and people open the package and just want to get it done and over with. But one thing I would suggest is take care in following instructions. Be super careful with the canister. Fill the form online or on paper- I’ve done both. Test for 70 -76 hrs just to be on the safe side. 48 is too short and nearing 90 is too long. I used the test at my moms, but then I used it 4 more times in my house to test initial house inspection test and post passive mitigation efforts. Try to time it to have it delivered within few days and so that it lands in the weekday. I had used the test on Friday so it was ready to go out Monday at the latest. I used usps label provided and it got there in less than 2 days. Each time! I kept checking for results and got them a few days later. For NY, NJ, and FL- you for use a different form but it is only slightly different- they email it to you very quickly- just make sure to check your junk mail box! If you are monitoring radon closely, be ready to redo multiple times. I am buying more canisters as soon as they are back in stock. It’s good to have them- they last a long time as long as they are originally sealed.

Can Damaged
The product would have been easy to use, if the top was not bent. The can arrived in an undamaged box, packed in a foam liner. i can only conclude it was sent from the manufacturer in damaged condition. I have no way to know if this affected the test results. I wrote a note to the manufacturer when I submitted the can for testing, but received no acknowledgment.
