I resisted buying this razor as I believed it was unnecessary to add another one to the seven I already own. However . . . . I also reasoned the existing crop of razors perform differently to each other so another one would add a nice touch to the weekly rotation. The head of this model is very similar to the Edwin Jagger DE89 BUT there are some very minor differences which I did not think would translate through to the shaving experience. After all, the differences were minor. The handle gives a really nice grip - even when wet - and looks quite different to all the other razors. Its also surprisingly weighty but without being cumbersome in any way. Its also a thicker handle than any of my razors so I had to re-drill my wooden stand (holds 5 razors) for it to fit. Its the 1st razor on the left in the image. In use the razor performs extremely well - that small visual difference does indeed "make a difference" and I found the shave to be quite smooth but very effective. I did half my face with this razor and then switched the blade to my DE89 for the other half - just to compare. It produced a good clean, close shave with no irritation and felt very smooth when moving across the skin. It might be the weight of the handle OR the small head difference OR a combination of both, but the result for me was a much nicer shave than the DE89. I used Proraso cream with a boar hair brush as I normally do to ensure a consistent comparison. Would I recommend this razor - yes absolutely. Reviews are seldom updated - but I find (when they are) they often temper the initial enthusiastic review with something more down to earth. UPDATE: After several shaves - using different soaps and creams - applied with different brushes (Badger, Boar and synthetic) I can say this razor now comfortably sits as my preferred unit. I have a range of blades - all tried with this NEO and worked as expected with the exception of the Japanese Kai blade which left my skin feeling in desperate need of a balm. Other than that - this is a fine razor - works well, looks nice. Still recommended.

Amazing razor, as my first safety razor it's great for a beginner and makes it very hard to cut yourself, still need some practice but overall a high quality product.

I've used double edged razors for more than 50 years and this is one of the best I've owned. It shaves smoothly when used at the right angle and the weight and balance is just about right. The silicone handle ensures a positive grip. I normally use the closed comb head but I've also got an open comb if I need a more aggressive shave. I don't think you can go wrong with one of these.

Excellent quality and great value for money. It gives a close, comfortable shave every time, and the fact that each blade lasts for several weeks is a real bonus. The razor is sharp yet gentle on the skin, helping to prevent redness. Definitely worth it!

I have used DE razors for many years due to having incredibly sensitive skin and the traditional razors made of plastic are not only bad for my skin but also not very environmentally friendly. German manufacturers Mühle provided an outstanding quality razor and have given me flawless shaves with no irritation of my skin whatsoever. The investment of a DE razor is great value for money as buying blades in packs work out cheaper than Gillette fusion heads which I found were bad quality and not environmentally friendly. The razor also fits nicely in your bathroom cabinet and is very easy to use.

This is a well-made, attractive and serviceable razor. It’s nicely balanced in the hand and looks to be durable. My caveat is that it doesn’t really shave close enough. If you’re making the transition from a cartridge to a safety razor (which is very much recommend), then this would be a good starting point to get the hang of the technique and find the right angle. And if your beard doesn’t grow especially fast or thick, and you don’t shave daily, it would also be an option. But my own preference is definitely for a razor with more of the blade showing. Closeness is one of the main reasons for shaving with a safety razor, and this one doesn’t do it for me.

Excellent razor, nicely balanced. I've been using an Edwin Jagger prior to this and the difference in shave is amazing - it's a closer shave, and bizarrely I've yet to have a single nick as well. Really impressed with this razor.

Neo, c'est la dernière gamme née chez Mühle... Ils ont pris la tête du Mühle 89 et ont mis ce nouveau type de manche au look rajeunit, c'est tout!!! Es-ce que la tête R89 rase bien? Oui, c'est un rasoir facile et doux, un peu passe partout. Après qq années de rasage à la lame double edge, on commence à aimer aussi un peu le danger et se raser avec des trucs ou le geste imprécis se traduit par une estafilade... Donc c'est un très bon rasoir pour une très grande majorité et avec un look moderne ;-)

I was honestly really impressed with this razor. It looks amazing in person and feels way more expensive than it actually is. The design is clean, simple, and really premium looking, so it looks great sitting on the counter too. Performance wise, it works really well. I was a little nervous using a safety razor at first, but this one feels controlled and beginner friendly. So far, I have not gotten any cuts, which was one of my biggest concerns. It feels safer and easier to use than I expected, especially if you take your time and do not press too hard. I also like that it feels solid in the hand without being too heavy or awkward. The shave comes out clean, and it makes the whole shaving experience feel a lot nicer than using a regular disposable razor. Overall, I think this is a great safety razor for the price. It looks premium, works really well, and feels safe enough for someone who is still getting used to this style of shaving. Definitely recommend it.

Ritengo che sia un ottimo prodotto. Il grip è sicuramente ottimo forse meglio del modello normale. La testina è la R89 che da sicurezza essendo un pettine chiuso ma al tempo stesso rade profondamente.
