My new favorite
This lives up to the hype. I’ve been seeing them pop up on ads everyday and they looked delicious. Finally ordered some. Not overly sweet or overly sour. A perfect balance and wonderful flavor. Hard to stop eating them so be prepared. Good quality candy.

Not bad
Okay, lets start with appearance; the bottoms of each container are marked either Red or Black, the tops however only state Red. Guess they ran out of Black lids. After opening the tubes, after all they are tubes with tube tops, anyway, they are cut into nice sized pieces. The red are Red, the Black are brown. Now, taste, I remember black licorice (haven't had black licorice in a very long time) as being very hard to accept based on the harsh flavor. I have just gone with red licorice all these years. But, I decided to try black licorice again. Couldn't find any in any stores so went to Amazon. I didn't want the standard chemical factory brew, wanted something as close to a true licorice. So I found these and decided to give them a try. The Red is supposed to be Strawberry. Okay, there is a sort of artificial berry taste, strawberry, okay, it isn't bad, just not as pronounced as I was expecting. Now, the Black, which I was preparing myself for was actually mild. It is quite pleasant to consumer, nothing like the bitter black licorice I remember from the stone age era. I like them both. Not sure how long they will stay fresh in the tubes they come in since the tubes don't actually seal them. If you consume candies rather quickly then that is not going to be an issue, but I eat maybe one or two pieces a day if that so I may have to put them into sealable container to keep them from drying out and getting hard. I do like them though.

It is not soft and chewy and it is unreturnable!
Stop! This product isn't what they advertise. This licorice is as hard as a rock. If I mess up my dental work, the repair would be costly. We can't bit through a piece of candy, It is either made badly or it is left over stock from Christmas. AND they won't allow returns or credits on this item. I have been scammed out of over $30.00 and I don't appreciate it! The licorice is inedible.

Sustralisn black is the "bomb".
Love the Australian Black. Not so much the finished black. Not much flavor. Hmmmm!

Initially disappointed in the product, but excellent customer service service. I will try again.
This is an update to my earlier review of this licorice based on the product I received. That review describes the product as hard and without flavor, well below my expectations. This review is based on my experience with the G.O.A.T. customer service. After I posted my feedback I received a message from the seller, who apologized for the poor quality of the licorice I received and offered a full refund, which I have already received. They also offered to send me a sample of a different product. Because of my positive experience with the company I will likely order a product myself to give them another chance.

Stale and hard
I have ordered this through Amazon. This licorice s like hard candy , tough to chew and completely tasting old. But if I order through the company itself, it’s chewy and soft. Do not buy through Amazon

Good flavor but inconsistent quality
I've ordered the Australian Red & Black combo twice. The first batch was semi-soft, and the flavor was very good, better than anything I could find in the store. The most recent batch was much, much tougher -- almost a plastic quality. The flavor was still good but not as good...something was lost with the plastic texture. I don't know if the problem was caused by the age of the candy, or the temperature at which it was stored, or some other factor. Not sure I want to risk it again for the price. On a side note, the packaging was wrong both times I ordered (the black licorice was labeled Australian Red) but I did get one of each so it was no big deal.
