Hawkins Contura Pressure Cooker, Stainless Steel Inner Lid Cooker, Handi Cooker, Induction Cooker, Small Cooker, Silver SSC20 2 Litre

I have a 6 liter cooker which was a little big for, say, 3-4 chicken leg quarters. This cooker is perfect for that. I had no problem after multiple uses with explosive or alarming steam release or such. It just hissed. I followed the instructions and it thoroughly cooks four thighs ‘n drumsticks (eight mins cook time after valve steam indicates operating temp). Item is of good quality. I recommend it for simple uses.

This is my favorite pressure cooker. WMF 3 litre and WMF 6 litre pressure cookers are my two other pressure cookers. The WMF pressure cookers are very nice and very quiet. The six litre WMF is for large meat dishes or whole chickens. The 3 litre WMF is fine but still a little large for a single person. The Hawkins is a snap to use. Once you get the snap of centering the lid to get pressure it is amazing! Pressure is easier to maintain with the Hawkins once at pressure the valve is very quiet. The Hawkins has a spring valve as well. The WMF pressure cookers make a very disturbing noise when the pressure is getting to high. The Hawkins will his a little before it lets off a large burst of steam. You will learn when to lower the heat. With the WMF pressure cookers you are constantly playing with the heat. The Hawkins has a very heavy bottom but I do believe a heat diffuser would help. Very little water escapes. India has great technology. I see no reason to spend money on high dollar pressure cookers anymore. The Hawkins is very well made.

Good for one or two person, the only problem is the lid doesn’t seal perfectly sometimes and leaks a little, you have to make sure you close the lid evenly to prevent leaks.

Makes pressure cooking for 1 or 2 people easy. Mine is mostly for cooking soaked beans. Just right to cook 1 cup dry legumes.

First off, part of the handle on the lid was broken when it arrived. It was still usable, and I thought about keeping it until I started washing it to be able to use it. The way it's made with that wide lip around the top, you can't pour from it. Food would have to be scooped out, and cleaning it is a pain. I scrapped up my hand on the lip trying to wash it, and because of how wide the lip is, trying to get all the soapy water out is difficult. It might be good for cooking, but the difficulty of removing food & cleaning was something I didn't want to deal with.

This is a very good cooker. Food cooks quickly and very well in it. With the Harish cooker, food neither burns nor sticks. I m very Happy

Size is perfect for two or extra large portion for one. Contura stainless steel 2 litre pressure cooker well worth the money. You will use it more often because of its size and amazing flavours. A little awkward to get food out of rounded top, but I suspect this is what traps in those amazing flavours. Great for college student or as a wedding gift that will actually be used. Great uses for van lifers and campers as well; fast food and versatile application. Great quality product made in India where it is a staple cooking tool.

worked only 2 times. Now steam is just coming out. very bad quality. Dont purchase it. costly to order from India and ship back

Es muy práctica, es lo que esperaba, para mí el inconveniente es que el instructivo solamente es en inglés, sería bueno que fuera también en español, siempre sale de pronto vapor con fuerza aún con flama baja, luego se normaliza pero si me pone nerviosa
