Worth Every Penny for Nervous New Parents
A genuinely reassuring device that gives my wife tremendous peace of mind overnight. It does exactly what it promises and generally delivers reliable performance. The companion app is a good and offers clear insight into our baby's sleep patterns, including REM cycles, wakeful periods, and more. The only minor drawbacks worth mentioning is that it very occasionally disconnects, which causes a brief flash of panic before you realise it's simply a connectivity blip. Fitting the sock correctly also takes a little practice at first, though it quickly becomes second nature. Overall, I personally think its expensive, but my wife considers the reassurance alone to be worth every penny.

Not cheap, but worth every penny for the reassurance
I’ve been using the Owlet sock for 5 months now, My baby has worn it every night since he was born. Overall it’s given me a lot of reassurance while he sleeps. The battery life is really good and easily lasts through the night, which makes it simple to include in our bedtime routine. The device itself feels very good quality and the sock has held up really well with no wear or issues so far. It also looks quite sleek on the bedside table and isn’t an eyesore. I also travel with the owlet sock, it’s very easy to take with us. I just put it in his bag and set it up wherever we go, which makes it really convenient. For cleaning I remove the sock from the electronic sensor part. The sock itself goes in a wash bag and I wash it on a hand wash setting in the washing machine. The main device with the electronics, I just clean gently using a toothbrush with a bit of water and Fairy liquid, making sure not to get it too wet. You do have to pay for a subscription if you want a more detailed report, but I do think it’s worth it. It also tells you an estimated next nap time if you leave it on for longer periods, which is a new feature and has been really helpful. One thing to be aware of is that sometimes if I go downstairs with him still wearing the sock and leave the base station upstairs, it can trigger the alarm due to being out of range. So if you have a larger house, you may need to move the base station around with you. But I now only tend to have it on him during the night. We did have a couple of false alarms at the beginning, which were a bit scary but I’d rather have a false alarm than no warning at all. Since he’s got bigger (now 5 months old), we haven’t really had any issues or false alarms. Overall, it’s been really reassuring and easy to use and has become something we rely on every night. Even though the upfront cost and subscription are quite expensive.

Not compatible with newer WiFi Systems. (Could not get it to work with Eero 6 Pro E)
As a new parent for a 3 day old baby, I was excited to get this set up and ready to use. The data it was going to provide through the app looked very useful and would have definitely given a peace of mind, especially for my partner who wanted to keep an eye on our baby 24/7. The first few steps of the process were quick and simple. To paraphrase: 1. Downloaded the app. 2. Followed the on screen instructions. i. Find the local wifi network for the sock and connect it to the home wifi. ii. Once connected to the home wifi, the phone has to find the device in the network- this is where it fell apart. After retrying 2ii several times unsuccessfully, which by the way the app itself admittedly prompts ‘might require several attempts’, I have decided to reset the device and repeat the process. This was also unsuccessful. I went to search the manual, and any sources I could find online to discover that they only connect to 2.4ghz frequency and suggests to set the router to exclusively operate on 2.4ghz while setting up the sock. Eero app fortunately had this feature available, where it temporarily limits all signals to 2.4ghz for 10 minutes. It was yet another trial and error ordeal. All to no avail. At this point, after wasting over an hour straight trying, I decided to calmly pack it up, not stress out about it anymore than I have, and process a return. Maybe take up voodoo classes I don’t believe in to get back at Owlet’s engineers. At the end of the day I may have made some errors, but I can’t see where and how from retracing my steps. I can only speak from my experience and I definitely do not recommend this product. This device was just not meant to be, it seems.

Great for anxiety
We found this really helpful for easing anxiety and giving us extra peace of mind, especially during those early months. We purchased the 360 version, and while we’re very happy with the device itself, the app does let it down somewhat. The monitor works well overall and does exactly what it’s supposed to do, but the app can be frustratingly slow and unreliable at times. For example, when our baby is being changed or fed, the alarm often goes off because of the movement, which is understandable. However, trying to turn the alarm off through the app can be a challenge. The screen frequently freezes or goes blank, and I’ve had to restart the app multiple times just to regain control. On one occasion, this took up to ten minutes to resolve, which isn’t ideal—especially in the middle of the night. Having a constant beeping alarm going off at 2 AM while trying to fix a glitchy app is incredibly stressful and definitely takes away from the overall experience. In summary, the device itself is great and genuinely helps reduce anxiety, but the app performance needs improvement. If the app were more reliable and responsive, this would easily be a five-star product.

For me, it’s now a must have
This was a product I didn’t originally plan on buying but I got it on sale so bought it. I would be absolutely lost without this item! It was a bit of a faf to set up and can sometimes disconnect to the wifi but that’s nothing when it gives you constant peace of mind! It alerted to me when my child was cold and floppy after her vaccines and my partner could hear it from the other room. It’s small and light weight and has good battery life! I would absolutely recommend this item to any parent who feels like they’ll have some anxieties with sleeping when their little one arrives. I’m so glad I bought this product!!

A must have for all parents!
I bought this during the Black Friday sale and also from my baby wishlist so paid a lot less than the RRP. But this was the one item that I was 100% set on purchasing. I know a lot of people questioned if it was going to make me more anxious, but honestly it’s given me peace of mind and I can actually sleep without the worry. I don’t check the app, I just simply pop his sock on at bed time and leave it at that. I trust that the app will alert me if there’s any issues and the only times it’s gone off is because of placement issues which are easily fixed. I would be lost without this and I will be buying the sock extensions to keep him in it until he’s 5 probably!

Love this, wouldn't be without it.
People have mixed feelings about the Owlet - we've loved using ours. We had it ready for when our baby was born, the first night he was home, we didnt use it. Unfortunately, he had a stroke. He's worn it every night since, luckily, he's fine, but now it offers reassurance - I never check it now, we just pop it on, and I don't even look at the app, it's there as a failsafe. I have loved having it its given me peace of mind, and well worth the money. It's easy to use and the battery life is great. Unfortunately, they changed to a subscription model which used to get parts of the app free which is a real shame as we lost some functionality. It was super handy in the early days for sleep quality and nap planning.

Very poor connectivity, awful app to use
There is no straightforward way to connect it to wifi, the app is very slow freezing multiple times. I had to contact support or return it An UPDATE! Finally, I was able to set up it , the app is extremely buggy ! Based on the following issues, I assume the product is either faulty or, if this is the way it works, then it is absolutely useless and goes against its advertisement that says parents get better sleep. Instead, I get much, much, much less sleep because of loads of false yellow alarms coming from the base during the night. While the base and the smart sock on the baby are less than 2-3 meters apart, during the night we randomly get multiple yellow alerts regarding difficulty reading the sensor or Bluetooth (BT) connectivity issues (the range between the base and sock is very close so very strange), and then it goes back to normal again! I cannot find a way to mute these kinds of notifications from the base and mobile app during the night, which causes a lot of disruption to our sleep. I had to completely shut down the base to get sleep! It seems the sock has become useless. Can you advise what is the solution to these issues?1- Why do I randomly get a yellow warning regarding difficulty reading (it can read again shortly after 2-3 warnings)?2-Why does the BT randomly disconnect, and again I get those annoying yellow warnings during the night? A nightmare! (It comes back again shortly after 2-3 warnings)3-How can I mute the yellow warning notifications on the base or mobile app? those false alarms are very annoying.

The best baby item I've ever purchased.
I have never been so happy about a purchase. With all of the controversy around an item like this, I am so beyond happy I purchased it. I was told I would have heightened anxiety by using it, that I would never stop checking the app, etc. But this item saved me while I was freshly post partum. I spent so much time worrying about falling asleep myself, because I couldn't stop checking on my newborn. I ordered this when she was a month old and she has never gone a night without it since (she's 1, and she will be giving it up soon for our newborn who is due in a few months). I have had no false alarms The app works great for both my husbands phone and my phone together (one of us has an android the other has an apple and the apps are different but work fine regardless). I can see my babies heartbeat, and the O2 updates every 10 minutes. So worth the price. We love it.

Gave me peace of mind during the newborn stage — wish I had it from day one
I started using the Owlet sock when my baby was still a newborn, and now I honestly can’t imagine our nights without it. It gave me a lot of peace of mind, especially during those early weeks when I was constantly checking on him while he slept. I really like that it monitors heart rate and oxygen levels in real time and sends alerts if anything goes outside the normal range. Being able to check everything from my phone without getting up helped me relax and sleep better myself. Another feature I found very helpful is that you can see when your baby is moving or starting to wake up. It made it easier for me to respond quickly and soothe him before he became fully awake. Pros: • Real-time heart rate and oxygen monitoring • Alerts if readings go outside normal range • Easy to check status anytime from the phone • Helps notice movement or early wake-ups • Very reassuring during the newborn stage Cons: • Works best when the sock is fitted correctly (took a little practice at first) Overall: This was one of the most reassuring purchases we made as new parents. I highly recommend it, especially for the newborn stage, and I really wish I had started using it from day one
