This deserves a 5 star rating, because of how easy it is to use and it didn’t wake anyone up at night. Using the attachment works to do the job, but you still might need to put the mini heat gun closer for a flush seal at the open ends of the heat shrink. It does not take very long to warm up and the size is perfect for smaller projects. You don’t need to buy a name brand heat gun when a quality product like this exists for a more affordable price. My father was sleeping in the other room and did not hear me using the heat gun at all. I am very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone working with heat shrink, etc.

I was pretty hesitant to buy one of these. I haven't had much success with either the heat gun nor working properly or the shrink tubing not shrinking correctly. I managed to get both to work as intended today when I fixed my wife's heated blanket that I bought her for Xmas. Our puppy decided to chew it up like it was one of her toys. I would definitely recommend this item to anyone looking for the right tools for the right job. I will be using this at work for the electrical lines that I have to repair. I'll update my review after using it at work for longer than 5 minutes.

Heats up pretty quick and is a bit less unwieldy than my big heat gun. Having a preset temp that works for heat shrink is nice as well. My larger gun has a "hotter/colder" dial on it and I usually overheat heat shrink. The first job I did with it was to wrap a couple 6S 5000mah lipo packs. Might be a bit small for that, but it allowed me to work my way down the pack without heat going everywhere and shrinking the wrap before I was ready for it. Since the directions state that it needs to be placed with the nozzle up while cooling, it would make sense if they put a nail hook/hole in it on the end so you could hang it on a wall or work bench between uses. I took the nose cone off of it and drilled a hole for just that. Now it's always within reach to use and tucked out of the way still so it's not a nuisance to have in my limited workspace. The little fold out stand/legs help to use it as well. I used that to hold it stationary so I could rotate the pack around more easily while heating the entire pack after getting it shrunk in most of the areas.

I have a regular sized heat gun I usually use for shrink tube and low solder joints but I bought this in hopes that it would localize the heat at the solder joint and not burn the wire insulation. So far, I haven't been able to get this device to build up enough heat to melt the solder in a timely manner.

As a traveling field tech. I needed something small for heat shrinking. And many sites don't allow open flame. I am pretty satisfied with this heat gun. Still a substantial size, but does take up less space in my job box than a pistol heat gun. Does it do the job: Yes. It does take a little while longer to shrink a tube. Something that takes a little longer to get the tubeing to shrink. For besr results, hold the nozzle less than 1/4 inch away from the shrink tubing The plastic shroud around the nozzel is great. Does not get hot. Protects the hot metal from touch really well. Preformed nicely for on and off operations over a 45 min period.

It is 120V it does not work on 220 voltage, they did not mention this anywhere. I cannot use and it is Not refundable pr returnable.
