desertcart.com: The Rising Leader Handbook: Turning High Achievers Into Effective Leaders: 9781738086825: Silverman, Mark J: Books Review: How to be a professionally successful and exemplary humanistic leader with a well-balanced life! - "The Rising Leader" by Mark Silverman is a compelling and insightful book that teaches, guides, and mentors people so they can become exemplary leaders who passionately advance and sustain their physical health, personal growth, peak well-being, professional success, life balance, and interpersonal fulfillment. Mark's real-life storytelling adds a humanistic touch to the empathic leadership values and potent behavioral principles he transmits throughout his book. Mark's message about the importance of deeply knowing yourself and seeking life balance will resonate with many high achievers, business leaders, and creative entrepreneurs. While encouraging and inspiring deeper self-knowledge and an empowered life of balance, Mark also provides tangible solutions for navigating inner resistances and outer obstructions to advancing honest self-reflection and a well-balanced life without succumbing to chronic stress, diminished physical immunity, loss of empathy, behavioral drivenness, cognitive rigidity, episodes of depression, and mental and emotional burnout. I appreciate how Mark challenges our conventional notions of attaining personal, interpersonal, and professional success while encouraging high achievers, business leaders, and entrepreneurs to question their priorities and strategies for living a purposeful, meaningful, and profoundly fulfilling life. "The Rising Leader" is a must-read for anyone seeking a holistic approach that focuses on the farther reaches of being an authentic, effective, and exemplary leader who encourages and advances self-knowledge, peak well-being, high productivity, spiritual integrity, behavioral wisdom, compassionate action, prolific creativity, and a healthier well-balanced life for themselves and others. ๐ด๐๐๐๐๐ค ๐โ๐ข๐๐ฆ๐ ๐ต๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐โ.๐ท Review: Brilliant and actionable book to strengthen leadership - This is an excellent book for rising leaders to read as well as for senior leaders to share with new leaders. Mark brings his experience as an executive coach to this book and highlights the key moves high achievers need to make to become effective leaders. The book is organized into an interesting sequence starting with (1) Leading Up, (2) Leading Across, (3) Leading Your Team and (4) Leading You. Understanding and applying these principles would be extremely valuable for anyone looking to have greater impact in their role. The greatest value of this book is in the excellent tools that are freely available as a companion to the book. I liked Mark's writing style and his inclusion of insights and perspectives from many thought leaders. If you are looking to become a more effective leader or if you are looking for a great resource that you can share with leaders in your organization, I would strongly recommend this excellent book.

Invest in Yourself
This book is not for me. Iโm not climbing the corporate ladder, or looking for meaning in a soul sucking career. But that's the reason this book is so powerful. The lessons and guidance inside take you on a step by step journey of self reflection, assessment, communication and empathy that can be applied to any part of your life. Whether youโre โleading upโ in support of a CEO and across to your team or finding the best way to support your partner and parent your kids thereโs plenty for you to pack in your mental and emotional suitcase that will serve you well. And absent all that weโre still all left with ourselves, what triggers us and what drives us forward. This book can help you uncover these things and coaches you on how to embrace them to be your best self. Is everything with your job, your life or your self as good as you want it to be? If not then make a small investment in getting closer to the best you. An investment in becoming just 1% better every day in whatever it is you do. You deserve it, and so do the people around you.

Navigating the C-suite with Confidence
Total game-changer. Itโs like a crash course in becoming the leader youโve always wanted to be but didnโt know how. Silverman cuts through the fluff and hits you with what actually matters: real talk on empathy, managing your hot buttons, and why throwing honest chats beats just about anything else in your leadership toolkit. The bookโs magic? It makes you look hard at yourselfโnot just as a boss but as a person. It has me thinking about my values, how I handle stress, and even my life outside the office. If youโre into growing not just your career but also as a person, this oneโs for you. Super practical, super insightful.

Riveting, practical, transformative.
Mark J. Silverman's "The Rising Leader Handbook" is a spectacular book. The moniker "Handbook" is apt. This is a fast-paced read, highly practical and very "how-to" - but unlike other how-to books that can be tedious to read, Mark's book has heart and soul and crackles with spirit energy. It's a cliche to say I couldn't put it down - well, I couldn't put it down. I will immediately pass it on to all my clients that have just been promoted into the C-Suite. Mark's book will be a game-changing handbook as they navigate their new playgrounds. Thank you, Mark Silverman. Your book is so very, very good!

Great book - even for non-leaders!
Iโll admit, I donโt consider myself a typical โleaderโ: I donโt oversee employees, and Iโm not an entrepreneur. That being said, I took a chance on reading this book because Iโve known Mark for a long time, and his previous works are very highly regarded. All I can say is โ wow โ this book actually makes me think I can be a good leader! At 48, itโs not too often that I come across something that makes me rethink my professional direction, but this might very well be it. Well done Mark โ this is a very informative (and possibly transformational) work of guidance and substance!

The key word in the title is Rising...because it is when we are growing, climbing, becoming that our awareness can be dulled by the sensation of soaring. Mark J. Silverman brings us back to the constituent values of our relationships and all the ways that leading matters. A concise, informed, expert look at how leadership really works.

Mark has an amazing ability to deconstruct complex situations and distil his advice into simple actionable insights. This book is packed full of inspirational guidance that every leader and aspiring leader can put to use right away, both professionally and to find balance in their personal lives - (Warning: Mark leaves no room for excuses). This is simply THE leadership handbook to read.

This small but mighty handbook is THE guide for busy leaders. It's something you could read on a trans-Atlantic flight, and be tooled up with actionable takeaways by the time wheels touch down. Practical, written like a powerful conversation, and down to earth. I'll be recommending this to the executives I coach. Five stars.
