I installed this SanHima vehicle awning on my Ford Excursion and overall it works really well. It provides a lot of shade and feels sturdy once mounted. The size is great for camping or outdoor trips. For my setup, I had to add a small L-shaped bracket to make it fit perfectly on my roof rack. After that it mounted nicely and feels secure. Just make sure you check exactly what mounting hardware your vehicle needs, because you might need a couple extra pieces depending on your rack setup. The awning arrived in good condition and everything inside the box was protected well.

Our family enjoys camping trips and driving to lake and mountains for outdoor activities. We decided to get this 270 degree awning for our SUV to up our camping and outdoor living experience and we could not be happier with it. Please note that your SUV will need a roof rack with cross bars installed in order to be able to mount this awning, which is quite long and heavy. It comes with mounting bracket that can be installed on the cross bars on the roof rack and you will definitely need a helping hand(s) and ladder to install it. It was delivered inside a box with very good packaging. I could not believe how heavy the box was but I wasn't surprised when I opened it and saw the quality and craftmanship of the awning and material. Once mounted and securely installed on the roof rack on the car, it's truly very easy open and set up the awning that will provide shades 270 degrees around the car for relaxing time away from UV and rain! All the parts are inside the zippered storage bag, which is mounted on the roof rack and after opening the zipper, you simply fold out the unit around the car. The retractable poles can be folded out from the awning itself then extended to provide support around the awning, which can withstand the strong wind. I love that it also has a built-in LED lights, which is provides lights at night with option to switch to orange light, which apparently does not attract bugs (perhaps they are color-blind?). It would have been awesome if there was an option to attach mosquito net on the awning so that we can stay under the awning at night with the lights on without having to worry about bug bites. I'm hoping that they will make the mosquito mesh net attachment in the future as they have few other add-ons for this awning. Having this awning opened around my car was amazing at the camp ground. We moved the picnic table under the awning and instantly got cool shaded area to sit down and eat when there were no trees around the car. I can see other campers looking at our car with jealousy and some even came over to take a closer look and asked me about the awning. Having this much shaded area away from sun and rain makes a huge difference in outdoor. We recently also used this awning at a church parking lot during the annual bazar where I volunteered to setup a hotdog stand to sell for fundraising. This awning was a hit with a big sign attached from top to bottom and I was able to cook and serve hot dogs under the shade all day. I love their rooftop tent and I'm now seriously considering purchasing that as well, although we are a family of 5 people so we have a huge tent that can fit 6 people comfortably but the rooftop tent looks so cool and would be great for cross country road trip with my wife or for my son who's in college. This company really knows how to make products for car roof tops and I'm really impressed with their product, especially this 270 degree awning, which is really easy to setup and to pack up!

Great fit and function. However, the description said that it had fold down legs. The model I received did not come with the built in fold down legs. Kinda disappointed in that. Other than that I love it.

The awning itself is good, everything came new and in the kit. But the base bar to which the brackets are attached is very flimsy, when opened it bends so much that it is scary for the whole structure. I would not call it "free standing". If it is attached to a long luggage rack along the entire roof and the brackets are near the very edges, this will not be noticeable, but for kayak racks like Yakima they will have to be attached further from the edges, and the bar will bend. In addition, the awning is attached to the structure with Velcro, and the opposite part of this Velcro is glued to the metal with some unreliable glue, on the very first day on the beach the awning together with the Velcro was torn off by the wind, the glue on the Velcro is still sticky. It will be necessary to attach it with something more reliable. Well, and fasteks for attaching the straps, they seem to be metal and work well, but after the first trip to the ocean they were covered with rust, I do not know how long they will work like this. Update. It turns that it can be easily improved, of course if you have welding in your garage. Now it's much better. Very nice awning with a premium feel for the material. The lights work well! Very nice price for the product compared to other awnings, it is also my compact and offers a little bit of extra storage in the bag for other items you might use for the awning.

Don't buy it! Poor quality, and poor construction. Doesn't even line up on the seems which makes the awning drop/sag in the middle. Even with everything tight and tied out.
