So comfortable, I just may sleep in them!
This shoe appeared on several lists of best running shoes for foot and knee pain, so I decided to give them a try. I walk/run about 4 miles a day on a treadmill during the winter, and was experiencing increasing knee pain, even just walking. (My treadmill belt is not well padded). I have a neutral foot with moderate arches. I had already tried and returned another brand, so did a lot of reading before making another try. The Gel Kayano is supremely comfortable, with nice cushioning, wide toe box, moderate arch support in the right place for me, and a nice rocker effect. It's so comfortable, it doesn't look like it's going to require any sort of break-in period. No rubbing anywhere after several miles. The best thing, my knee pain went away immediately. Although these are intended to be dedicated treadmill shoes, I've been wearing them around the house all day, can't stand to take them off. Sizing may be a little generous, or maybe I'm just not used to having that much room to wiggle my toes. The length seems correct and there's no sliding around in the heel. I ordered some thin running socks, which I should be wearing anyway. While the tops are very breathable, my feet are getting warm underneath, so socks will help prevent any moisture buildup. The price was reasonable... they are changing over to the new model so these were $99. Can't complain about that for a quality shoe! The Gel Kayano is supposed to be very durable , so we'll see how long they last! Love these so much I just may well sleep in them. They're that comfortable!

Timely delivery of a great shoe in immaculate condition
I had to write this review, because I saw some negative reviews where people commented on receiving shoes that appeared to have been worn already. Certainly not the case here! Shoes arrived timely and are in immaculate, brand new condition. The color (I went for that fiery red) is beautiful and powerful. Fun on a nice day and will be cheerful on a grey or foggy day! For those new to the tech specifications of running shoes: this is ASICSโs โstate of the art shoeโ which has both maximum cushioning and guidance. Maximum cushioning is important for people who are older, heavier (or very tall) or people that have had an injury or are frail. But lots of cushioning is also great for the average person who simply works out a lot on a daily or weekly basis. (Or people that enjoy a more pillowy feeling.) It can also be preventative and protect against injuries or nasty things like plantar fasciitis or help with these issues. Guidance is needed by lots of people who either pronate (your feet tend to lean / roll towards the inside) or supinate (your feet tend to lean / roll towards the outside. The Kayano model has a built in guidance system which is important for mentioned pronators and supinators! But it is not needed by neutral runners (foot hits the road quite straight and steady). And it may irritate some neutral runners as it comes with a slightly more โconstrictedโ feeling. However, if you are an older person, unsteady on your feet (for whatever reason) or just had an injury, that model will also be great for a person who is normally a neutral runner (or walker). While I am normally a neutral runner /walker and am neither old nor heavy weight, I had a bad injury a few months ago where I tore 2 ligaments in one foot. I am still not fully recovered. I still get a swollen foot or pain after longer walks and even short runs, and I still donโt fully trust my ankle/foot to behave and donโt bring me down again. Certainly donโt want to risk another injury triggered by the old oneโฆ So both the maximum cushioning and the guidance are welcome. Because I used to work for the marathon association and know a lot about running shoes (different brands and their models) and their tech specifications, I know about and appreciate all the benefits of this model and just ordered it for myself. Look forward to using it a lot ๐ If you are new to this brand: The way ASICS shoes are designed/ tailored, they work well for people who are also comfortable wearing the following brands: Saucony, Brooks, Altra, HOKA. They might not work for people who are normally happy with Nike or New Balance. One last thing: please guys, donโt waste your money on cheap no name sports shoes! You can do that with TShirts, without an impact on your health. But when it comes to sports shoes, please consider the higher price as a preventative investment in your body & health. If you are debating whether the ASICS Gel Kayano is worth its price, go ahead and order, it is! ๐๐๐

So far so good. Good looking shoe
I really like these shoes they're very comfortable. First time ever getting a pair of Asics. I thought the sole would be too thick and by looking at it it looks a little thick to me but I never had shoes with thick soles I'm sure I'll get used to them very comfortable. It has enough arch support for me I have like a regular arch not to high not to low. The toe box is pretty wide. I was reading reviews that said go up a half a size so I did and I'm glad I did they fit perfect. Asics is my new brand. I only use these for walking I'm just a walker only about 4 mi a day broken up into 2. I'm 62 years old with arthritis all over and fibromyalgia and neuropathy in my feet these are very comfortable. They're not heavy shoes I just think they might be a little bit too warm but I can handle it. They do breathe good in the toe Just toward the back by the heel they're very supportive so I feel they're a little warm but my feet always get warm. All in all I would recommend. In the picture the soles look like they're pink they're not.The soles are white. The quality is good very good made shoe.

Awsome shoes.
Podiatrist recommended I get a motion control running shoe for my plantar faciatis. Went to shoe store and associate brought me these Asics 30 ikayano gel shoes and a pair of 31 also. I got both pair. These are awesome. I walk on concrete and feet were killing me. Not a cure or instant relief but did help from day 1 of wearing them. Within a month or so my foot pain was no longer ruling my life. I was able to work a whole shift without limping. These are the only shoes I wear now and I have 3 pair and am buying more. I also use icy hot with lanacane every night on my feet. These shoes are really great buy them. They are true to size. .

Comfortable and durable
The Gel-Kayanos have been my go-to running shoes for years. My feet must have grown, as the regular 9.5 felt a little short this time. I ordered a 10 and it was the right size for me! It's my first time ordering my size in wide with these shoes. I love the fit! I am not a runner; I just work out here and there so I don't buy a new pair each year. My Gel-Kayanos usually last me a few years. I removed one star because I am not crazy about the design of the heel. It makes the shoes almost look like a wedge pair of running shoes. Edit: (10/24/2024) So, I took my new shoes to the gym for the first time the other day. I was disappointed to feel like they were crushing my toes a little when I was running/exercising. It felt like the shoes were too small when I was working out. It was not super painful or anything, but uncomfortable enough to be felt. Edit #2: (11/5/2024) After my first workout with the new shoes, I seriously considered returning them, but decided to re-try the shoes on to check the size. Again, they fitted fine. The toe-box is comfortable and the tip of my big toe doesn't reach the inside of the shoe, so I know I have the right size. Since the crushed-toe feeling only happened when I exercised, I suspected that my feet were sliding toward the front during jogs or more intensive workouts. I decided to tighten the shoe laces to see if that would help. It fixed the problem! My last workout did not cause pain or gave any crushing toe feeling. My feet had never slid toward the front before during exercise, nor did I ever have to tighten my shoelaces. It's the first time this is happening to me with the Gel-Kayanos and this must be my 6th or 7th pair. (Note: I always tie my shoe laces. With these shoes, I don't do it super tight to the point where it's just uncomfortable, but it is definitely tighter than what I am used to.) I will keep the shoes even though they are not my favorite model.

Most comfortable shoes ever
I have worn just about every brand of athletic shoes made, my current favorite are Hokas. I have flat feet, all kinds of joint issues, so comfort and support are critical. I donโt run but I walk every day so they get lots of wear and tear. I read an article that said these Ascics were super comfortable and great for flat feet. They were on sale so I took a chance. I am so glad I did. The first time I put them on and stood up, the soft supportive insoles were unbelievable. The fit was perfect, true to size. I have a narrow heel and the shoe was snug enough to keep my foot in the shoe. Lots of toe room. The fabric over my toes is soft and flexible. It breathes so my feet never feel hot. Iโve worn them about a week and can honestly say they are the best fitting and most comfortable athletic shoes Iโve ever worn. They feel so good and I have no foot pain at all. My knees feel the best on walks theyโve felt in a long time. I havenโt worn any other shoes since I got them. Thatโs how great they are. They are the most expensive athletic shoes Iโve ever had. I would never paid full price for them but I do believe that you get what you pay for. These are well made so I expect them to last a long, long time. I would give these 10 stars if I could. They are fabulous shoes.

Great running shoe
Great running shoes. I have plantar fasciitis and these keep my feet from hurting. I do use inserts but that is my preference. You do not have to use. True to size and good quality.

Fantastic for my flat feet! Upgrading from Kayano 28s
Iโm working on getting in shape and have started walking about 1.5 miles every day before work. I have flexible flat feet and overpronate, and tend to feel soreness and fatigue along the outsides of my shins with just a few minutes of walking. Iโve been walking in Gel Kayano 28s, and decided after reading a few reviews on Reddit to give the Kayano 30s a try. WOW. I just finished my first mile walk in the Kayano 30s and both the time and distance flew by! As soon as I slipped them on in my living room I could feel the correction in my stride; my weight was naturally transferring to the stable part of my foot and sinking into the cushioning along the middle and outside of the sole, keeping my ankles straight. In the 28s, it felt more like I was just helplessly overpronating against the firm arch support, (which is honestly how most โarch supportiveโ shoes have always felt to me), still bearing weight down through the inside of my foot and nonexistent arches. This is the first shoe Iโve had that makes it feel easy and natural to keep my ankles straight and stable while I walk. My mind is blown that walking can actually feel this easy, and that my legs donโt hurt after a short distance. Granted, everyoneโs feet are different, even for my fellow flat-footers and overpronators, but Iโve tried my best to accurately describe my situation and experience in case you happen to have feet like mine and are looking for a great pair of shoes to make your walking/running feel more effortless.
