OK for 3 yr old, but smaller than back in the old days!
I bought this as a lightning deal which was not such a great deal since, a few days later, the lightning deal price is apparently the same as the regular Prime price, and the frustration-free packaging price is slightly lower than both of those! Anyway the box was slightly damaged but the contents were fine. The assembly was easy- just 3 screws. I needed two sizes (a medium and a smaller) size Phillips head screwdrivers and it took me just 2-3 minutes. Probably would've taken less if I hadn't dropped the screws a few times. My almost 3.5 year old loves it. However, it seems a lot smaller in all dimensions than the classic red Sit n Spin I remember from my youth a few decades ago. My son is 40 pounds (clothing size 4T) and fits on it ok for now, but I imagine a kid any older might find it a tight squeeze to pretzel themselves up enough for it. As it is, the front of my son's shirt presses into the top (yellow circular part) of this so there is a slight resistance as he's spinning. All in all, it seems ok, it works as expected and is fairly quiet and stable, and he's having fun and likes the silly giraffe face (even though he's usually more of a trucks and dinosaurs type of guy). Also, it was very easy to put together. I wish it were bigger so he'd get more use out of it. Hopefully it will hold up well and last for our baby to grow into it. If you're buying it as a gift, note that it did not come in an Amazon cardboard box. Ours came just as-is in the colorful Sit n Spin box with photos on the outside so everyone could see what it was right away when we got the package delivered. I'm not sure I would use it on fine wood floors in case of damage to the floors over time, because I didn't see any rubber feet or pads on the bottom of it, just hard plastic, but we're using it on a flat woven carpet and it works great on that surface.

Bought for At-Home PT
I bought this to add to my at-home PT selection, specifically for my autistic son, who really likes to spin. We tried the Bilibo, but he struggles to use it alone, so I have to spin him each time, and I wanted something that he could use independently for those times when I am not available, or he has a sitter who doesn't know how to spin the Bilibo. It's definitely not as sturdy as the ones we had as kids, but it seems like that's the way of things these days (geez, I sound like an old person...) That said, he is a few pounds over the weight "limit," but as other reviewers stated that their teens used them, I didn't think it would be a problem - and it's not! AND, he LOVES it.

Not like when we were kids.
This is a neat little sit-n-spin but, the base lacks in area and the Giraffes face isn't easy to grab on. When we were kids, these things were built like tanks. They had a wide area to sit at least 2 kids on a while you had help making yourself dizzy. This version does the job to a point but I would ask they make improvements. Also, if you're over 180LBs, I wouldn't do it. The plastic will not handle it. Hence, why we own 1.5 of them now.

Okay, but not Worth $50
I have twins, just turned two, so I bought two of these, so as not to have them fight over one. I wasn't expecting 70s era quality, and I don't have a vintage one for comparison. I do remember that these things used to spin on carpet, too. The new ones do not. The babies love them, so I'm not quite ready to say I regret the purchase, but I wish they could spin elsewhere but my kitchen, only! I'm not sure how long these will hold up, because after 2-3 uses, they seem a little less easy to spin. If the cost had been something like $20, I wouldn't mind so much, but for the price I hoped for a bit more. Still, it's a non-electronic toy that provides physical movement, so I'm happy these are still available, and it's a nice flash from the past, for me.

More for 2 yr old & up.
17 month old grandson likes it for now but sure he will love it when he grows into it. He hasn't gotten the concept down yet that you have to use your hands on the wheel to turn it. I do it for him for now. He loves it when it spins though! He does tend to stand on it so have to keep reminding him to sit. It's very well made (sturdy). He is on the smaller side and he sits pretty good on it. I don't think there would be enough room for larger kids. However, they always figure out a way. lol I remember these when I was little.

Love it
Super easy to put together and spins very easily. My daughter just got it yesterday so we are still learning how to properly sit and spin but shes going to enjoy the hell out of this thing. Also it's not huge which I like. Was delivered double boxed and thought it was going to be rather large but we put it together just before Christmas and we were pleased to see the smaller 2nd box upon opening lol.

Ok
All in all good product. A little expensive for the material used. Spin handle is on the unsturdy side but has held up thus far for my 2 year old grandson.

A good spin of fun!
Purchased for our 2 year old's second birthday. She loves it (as do her siblings who are 3, 5). It works best on a hard floor (which isn't ideal if they tumble off, but kids learn to hold on tight pretty quickly after a spill or two). Can be used on carpet, however our living room has pretty plush carpet and it doesn't spin as easily. For the price this is a good, entertaining toy for a toddler (even a preschooler would get some good fun out of it). And bonus...no batteries needed or obnoxious music included!
