I have 2 of this type of unit and both of them are great. It appears they run the same firmware, although this one is a newer version than my other unit. The base magnification on them is perfect to give a large viewing area and you can zoom in digitally to try seeing something a little better but pixelates quickly. I don't plan to really use this for daytime use so my pictures are pretty much all night time. There are a handful of these kinds of units on the market with prices ranging from $70 up to $170 for nearly identical ones so I'd suggest shopping around. I did recently have the ability to review another unit that was larger in size but I didn't prefer the imagery of it over this kind so I still recommend this style (picture attached with other unit having a blue hue to the screen vs this kind being black/white). Audio recording isn't very good. It won't pick up the ambient noise, which was very unfortunate since my video had coyotes howling in the background and cattle mooing. After I learned that, I tried doing a test video at home and it would seem if you are loud in narrating what you're viewing, it will record it slightly audible. So, don't count on trying to narrate a hunt or other time where you need to actually be quiet. This style is very lightweight and you can hold it up for long periods of time without fatigue. I had high hopes for these Night Vision Goggles, especially with the "4K High-Definition Rechargeable Infrared Digital Night Vision" plastered all over the product description. After reading the glowing (and clearly misleading) marketing, I was sorely disappointed to find that these goggles fall dramatically short on every single promise. This isn't just a minor letdown; it's a product that actively fails to perform its most basic functions. Here's why I'm giving it a scathing 1-star review: "4K High-Definition" is a Complete Lie: Let's get this straight immediately: the "4K High-Definition" claim is, frankly, a massive overstatement if not outright deceptive. The actual image quality viewed through the goggles is a fuzzy, pixelated mess. Even in ideal low-light conditions, objects appear blurry, washed-out, and lack any discernible detail. Trying to identify anything beyond a vague shape is an exercise in futility. It performs more like a low-resolution digital camera from the early 2000s, not a high-tech night vision device. Weak, Ineffective Infrared (IR) Illuminator: A night vision device is only as good as its IR illuminator when there's no ambient light. The built-in IR on these goggles is incredibly underpowered. It barely casts enough light for effective viewing even at short distances. Beyond 20-30 feet, it's essentially useless, leaving you staring into darkness. The "long-range" capabilities advertised are pure fantasy. You'll need an external, much more powerful IR flashlight to get any meaningful performance, which defeats the purpose of an integrated system and adds to the bulk. Pathetic Battery Life: This is another critical flaw that renders the device impractical. With the necessary IR illuminator engaged (which it almost always needs to be), the battery drains astonishingly fast. You're lucky to get an hour, maybe an hour and a half, before it dies. This means more time charging than actually viewing, and constant worry about being left in the dark during any extended observation. For any serious use like camping, hunting, or security, this short battery life is a deal-breaker. Cheap Build Quality & Clunky Interface: The goggles feel like a cheap toy, not a piece of durable outdoor equipment. The plastics creak, the buttons feel mushy, and the overall construction inspires zero confidence in its longevity or ability to withstand even minor bumps. Furthermore, the menu system is clunky and unintuitive, making it frustrating to adjust settings in the dark. It's uncomfortable to wear for any extended period, adding to the overall poor user experience. Digital Zoom is Useless: The digital zoom feature further exacerbates the poor image quality, turning an already blurry scene into an unidentifiable block of pixels. It doesn't enhance visibility; it only magnifies the existing poor resolution, making the image even worse. Conclusion: Save yourself the frustration, disappointment, and money. These Night Vision Goggles are an absolute waste of a purchase. They are marketed with impressive (and misleading) specifications, but in reality, they deliver an abysmal performance that fails on every measurable front. It's marketed as a sophisticated piece of equipment, but performs like a glorified low-light camera from a decade ago. If you're serious about night vision, spend your money elsewhere on a reputable brand or save up for something that actually delivers on its promises. This product is a classic example of over-promising and under-delivering. Avoid at all costs.

I really want to love these night vision binoculars, but there are several annoying things about them. While they work great in blackness, you have to keep them away from your face to use them. This is fine except that the light from the screen lights up your face thus defeating their stealtfulness. Also, you have to put them in IR mode to use at night. To me it would seem that since they are night vision, IR should be the default setting. However, this is not the case and you have to place in IR mode every time you turn them on. The quality and range is good, as is the recording function. There seems to be too many buttons to fiddle with in the dark. However, they do work well once you get the hang of it.

While they have the shape of binoculars, you don't look through the lenses, you look on the screen, so that's a bit awkward, but it's very powerful. I like taking these out at night with me where it's dark out and there are a lot of areas that I can't see because it looks black. I turn these night vision goggles on and point the lenses in the direction I want to see and take a look at the screen and it looks like daytime. It's truly amazing. It has a green mode as well, which can enhance some of the darker areas to show more detail, and a blueish-purple mode that can enable you to see some things without a bright screen in your face. I typically use it in the normal mode (default mode). There is a dial you turn to focus the image, it's very easy to turn and use. The controls are fairly straightforward. The manual it comes with is very good and made it pretty easy to get started using it. I like that it is able to take photos and video. It is quite handy. The USB cable it comes with makes it so you can connect it to a computer to access the data on the SD card, or you can remove the SD card and use your own adapter to get the files off. I charged it before I turned it on, and that took a few hours, but once it is charged up, the battery life seems to be very good. The goggles turn off by themselves after a bit, which helps preserve battery life. It doesn't take that long to power on or turn off. The case it comes with is very good and makes it easy to store them. The strap it comes with is very handy as well, making it easy to hang around your neck for easy access and to free your hands from holding it all the time. Overall, I'm impressed with the quality, the features, and everything it comes with.

First off, $180 is too much for these. There are almost identical products for under $100. Second, I think that it's strange that these products are being labeled as goggles or binoculars. They are not meant to put your face up to them at all. They have a screen that is more akin to a phone or monitor. Now, this is ok if it's what you want. The screen means that you will lose some of the stealth that you might want for viewing animals at night. Also, the buttons are very clicky and kind of loud. This could also distract the creatures that you are trying to view. I would also like there to be a wider lens on the camera to zoom out a little more. Now to the good. I love that it comes with a nice protective case. Too often nice products are paired with absolute garbage accessories. This case is nice. The unit seems to be built well and feels durable. The neck strap is handy and the unit is fairly easy to use. Ready the manual and you are good to go.

These night vision goggles are surprisingly capable for the price! They’re not military-grade, but for camping, late-night wildlife watching, or general outdoor use, they do the job well. The built-in infrared mode works great in total darkness, and I was able to see clearly even with minimal ambient light. What really stands out is the ability to take photos and record video—plus it comes with a 32GB memory card, which is a huge plus. The digital zoom is decent, though image quality gets grainy at higher levels, and fast movement may blur a bit. Still, for basic observation or fun nighttime exploration, it's a solid performer. The included case is also a nice touch, and the unit itself is lightweight and comfortable to use. Battery life is fair—just make sure to bring extras if you're planning on extended use with infrared. Overall, this is a great intro night vision option that balances function, fun, and affordability!

I think with time and practice I will like this more, but I find it somewhat non-intuitive. As was noted, it is not automatically in "IR Mode" -- so after I turn it on I need to fumble around in the dark to get it in the right mode, and play with sensitivity. Once I get it where I want it, I would prefer if it would keep those settings the next time it turns on - but it does not, it goes back to default mode and I have to do it all again.
