iProven Oral Thermometer, Measures in 10 seconds with flexible tip and fever alarm, Digital Medical Thermometer for adults, kids and toddlers - DTR-1221A

While looking for a thermometer I found the iProven at my local pharmacy. I picked it up because of its clean blue and white packaging that stood out on the rack. The package clearly advertised the rapid read, flexibility, and loud alarm features and these were just the things I was looking for in a thermometer. When I did purchase this product and utilized it, I found it to be easy to use and it resulted as quick as the manufacturer claimed it would. The tone on completion was loud enough to hear even by my husband. who suffers from issues with loss of hearing in one ear. The thermometer is capable of showing a happy or sad face based on the result for those unsure of the best temperature range that they should maintain. This range is clearly explained in the included pamphlet of directions found in the packaging. I found it a little difficult to open the plastic container at first, but that became easier with use and I looked at it as if it was kept clean in the packaging since it was sealed tightly. Based on all of the features offered with this product I feel it was worth the price I paid for it. I feel it provided accurate results. I would definitely recommend it to family and friends who are looking for a thermometer for daily use in their home.

I bought this thermometer because my 3-year-old hated my old rigid-tipped thermometer. I used this on myself first, and it's very comfortable in the mouth. I am not giving a 5 star review only because it's *very* loud and there does not appear to be a way to shut off or lower the sound. Also note that the directions clearly state that it is not accurate if used for axillary (armpit) temperature, so if that's your preferred method, choose a different model/brand. Edit: First off, I bought this on a recommendation from a nurse friend of mine when I complained about how uncomfortable it is to hold a thermometer in your mouth. She was right! The flexible tip on this is amazing! It's soft, so you can grip it in your teeth without it slipping around, and you can hold it in the exact place you need it without gouging that tender area under your tongue. But I really edited this to say that I don't know why so many people are finding this thermometer to be inaccurate. Perhaps they are not using it correctly? You are supposed to turn it on and wait until the display says "Lo C" or "Lo F" before putting it in your mouth. My nurse friend also says to wait 15 minutes after you eat or drink anything so the temperature in your mouth has not been changed by the food or beverage. Because of the other reviews I saw, I decided to test the accuracy. I have two of the regular "hard tip" thermometers here and I tested all 3 at the same time just to see if they would give the same results and two (including this one) read exactly 98 degrees and one said 98.17, so I think this is pretty accurate, or they're all 3 wrong! Another great feature of this is how fast it is! This makes it great to use on my toddler when she is sick and cranky! I definitely recommend this thermometer.

This thermometer is good quality. I was impressed that if you register it it has a year long warranty on it plus the 30 day return if you’re not pleased with it for any reason. It fast an accurate and the tip is bending so if your little is moving around it stays in place better & won’t effect the teeth etc.

We used the optical non-touch thermometers for a while and loved the convenience. Then my wife got quite ill and her temperature readings became very important. We discovered that the optical thermometer's readings were not very accurate at all. This was a step back for us to an under the tongue device and yes it does take about 10 seconds to deliver a reading. But the readings are very accurate and the device is very easy to use. Be sure to buy the disposable plastic covers for the device and the mini-alcohol wipes to clean it after using.

I purchased this Oral Thermometer based on its promises of a fast, 10-second reading and a helpful fever alarm, hoping it would be a reliable tool for my family. Unfortunately, this product has proven to be not only a waste of money but also dangerously unreliable. Its primary function is to measure temperature accurately, and it fails at this most fundamental task. The most glaring issue is its wild inconsistency. In one instance, my child was visibly flushed and warm to the touch, yet this thermometer gave a reading of 97.8°F. Suspicious, I immediately used our old, trusted thermometer, which registered a 101.5°F fever. To test the iProven further, I took three back-to-back readings on myself and received three completely different results: 96.9°F, 98.8°F, and 97.4°F. This level of variance makes the device utterly useless for making any health-related decisions. Furthermore, the "10-second" measurement claim is pure fiction. To get a reading that even remotely stabilized, I had to hold it in place for well over a minute. The device often beeps prematurely with an absurdly low number, making the fast-read feature a misleading gimmick. Because it never once registered an actual fever, the "fever alarm" feature is completely pointless. The build quality feels cheap and flimsy, and the battery cover is difficult to remove without feeling like you might snap the plastic. When your family’s health is on the line, you need a tool you can trust without a shadow of a doubt. This is not that tool. Do not risk your peace of mind or your family's well-being on this inaccurate and untrustworthy product. I strongly advise looking elsewhere.

The Proven digital thermometer looks like any other digital thermometer at first glance. The box was appealing, with some of the most important pros right on the box, such as "fast, 10 sec", "flexible", smiley face indicator, and "switchable" from Fahrenheit to Celsius switching capability. It comes in a clear case, to avoid easily damaging the thermometer, to keep it clean, and to make portability easy. It's super easy to use, and has easy-to-read, simple instructions right on the back of the box, for people like me, who HATE reading instruction sheets! It also tells you what the high temperature range is, especially for those who think 99 degrees is a fever. ;) There is a really cool smiley face indicator, with a smile indicating a temperature < 99 degrees, a "meh" face indicating slightly elevated temperature, and frowning face indicating temperature > 100. I also love that the tip is flexible. I really could've used this when my kids were small, as the thermometers I used had stiff tips, which only made them more angry, because it was comfortable too! Most importantly, it's priced right! This thermometer is perfect for anyone of any age, and I would highly recommend it to anyone! *I would love it even more if it had a low temperature indicator, especially for premature or small infants, who are less able to maintain their own temperatures, and are more likely to have low temperatures when sick, rather than fevers.

Ease of use The only thing I’d like better is if the Amazon instructions for use matched the box as there are conflicted instructions on whether to first press the button before putting the thermometer in place. I also don’t like the sound of the notifications and would like an option to turn them off. Not sure about accuracy as I didn’t test.
