I didn’t realize that the difference between flakes and regular magnesium salts was and how quickly the salts dissolve. This is now the product that I will continue to purchase because of how easy it is to dissolve these Epsom salts into warm water and make a difference with sore muscles. I like to soak my feet in them too. The 8 pound bag lasts so much longer and I like that these are natural minerals. I also keep them on hand for my horse because as equestrian know, you sometimes have to give your horse an Epsom salt soak for any sprains or hoof problems. I also swear I can tell the difference between this high magnesium absorption and the Epsom salts that I’ve bought at the pharmacy.

I am a regular and avid user of Epsom salts and already use the EPSOAK brand almost exclusively. Bath salts are a must-have part of my bathing ritual and I take a minimum of two baths a week, sometimes more. I like an extra long soak of at least 30 minutes. So when I saw this new addition to the EPSOAK lineup, I was eager to try it, but did not expect a different experience. Was I ever in for a surprise! COMPOSITION: These magnesium flakes look moreso like coconut shavings than they do mineral salts. They seem to dissolve more readily in my bath water than Epsom salt. The instructions on the packaging recommend using a whopping SIX CUPS of magnesium flakes compared to only TWO CUPS of the Epsom salt! I was shocked by that amount, but it explains why the bag is so much bigger. EXPERIENCE: The soak was delightful. It relaxed me enough while in the bath that I hung out in the bathtub for a full hour rather than my usual 30 minutes. Usually when I am in the tub for that long, the suds are gone by the end of the soak. But with these flakes the suds stayed in the tub and maybe even grew in amount, looking more like a white froth with smaller bubbles. And, most importantly, these flakes were so powerful that I slept like a log. My shoulders felt completely relaxed the entire next day–and that’s where I usually collect tension and stress. I am taken aback by how meaningfully this upgrades my experience. VALUE: Of note, I usually apply a magnesium oil spray to my body after using regular epsom salts to enhance muscle relaxation. I don’t need that oil spray when using these magnesium flakes so I combine 2 steps into one. Better yet, I can just dissolve some of these flakes to make my own spray, if I ever want to use the spray after a shower. The sheer power of these flakes relative to Epsom salts justifies the higher price, in my opinion. The light, natural scent of these unscented flakes is delightful and adds to the experience. I think that SIX CUPS may even be too much given the effectiveness so there may be room to lower the dose per bath to capture even greater value. All in all, this is an upgrade to an upgraded bath experience with EPSOAK salts.

I ordered these magnesium flakes by Epsoak pretty much thinking I was ordering Epsom salts. I was wrong, these are pure magnesium flakes from the Netherlands, no sulfur added and very good for you. So far I have tried them in the bathtub and the foot bath. My dryer than a desert skin is just loving these flakes. Right after drying off I can tell that these magnesium flakes leave my skin feeling softer. The magnesium is also good for reducing inflammation and helping my skin to retain its moisture. So far I am thrilled with this upgrade to my bathing and hope to notice more benefits from regular use over time. While I appreciate that this bag contains one ingredient only, I wouldn't have minded some fragrance. A little lavender thrown in would increase the sensory pleasure for me, no doubt. At time of this review a 4 lb bag of these pure magnesium flakes is selling for $24.99. After a brief comparison shopping exercise, I must say that seems higher priced than comparable products so I am deducting one star. Now that I have discovered magnesium flakes I will continue to use them, but perhaps not this brand unless they are on sale.

I absolutely love these Epsoak Naturals Magnesium Flakes! They are 100% natural, unscented, and dissolve easily in warm water, making them perfect for a relaxing bath or foot soak. Overall, this is a high quality, natural, and effective product for anyone looking to unwind, soothe tired muscles, or pamper themselves at home. I highly recommend it!

Arrived quickly and with no damages. This is a huge bag, I mean huge. I had a somewhat difficult time ripping the top across, so I ripped and pulled up, ( if that makes sense. ) I use epsom salts in my bath faithfully 2x a week. I use a variety, from fine to coarse, from scented, to colored salts, and medicinal to non medicinal. Name brand to generic brand. When you open them, you immediately get a medicinal scent. Like a VERY subtle scent of menthol. It says unscented buts its scented, not just a fruity, candy, flowery type scent. The appearance reminds me of cocunut flakes. They are white in color and large in size. What was a shock for me, was, it advises to use 6 cups of this at a time. I'm going to pass on the 6 cups and use a couple of handfuls as I always do. This packaging said, do not use in hot water, in 2 different sections on the back, and in one of those sections it referenced diabetes and hot baths. Just contact a healthcare proffessional if more questions arise. This is distributed in San francisco but a product of the Netherlands. I had no adverse reactions to this. I did not use 6 cups and will not. The scent dissipates once it dissolves in the water. The price at the time of review is $18.98. Which is good for the amount/quality you get, it will last longer if you choose not to use 6 cups at a time. I like it!
