Will this work to calm my cat in a carrier under the seat on an airline flight?

Ask your Vet about a mild sedative for traveling or even a prescription called GABAPENTIN used for many different things (sedation for travel, pain, neurological problems, and even arthritic pain to name a few) that you would give to your cat a few hours prior to traveling, and they can have it compounded to oral solution (flavored liquid) if your cat is difficult giving pills to (as mine is). It works great but does last SEVERAL HOURS, in my experience 4-6 hours... Now to your question about this product. I have used it for a year or more now and continue to in my 3 cat household, since my cat Cheetah became ill and previously required many trips to the Vet. I personally haven't seen any results or improvements using it specifically for traveling, taking my cat back & forth to Vets office! As I had really hoped it would, because it breaks my heart seeing & hearing her in such distress. My soon to be 10 year old (April 2021) female cat Cheetah HATES getting in any vehicle of any type. My Vet's office gives every pet that comes to their office a brand new red bandanna with either this product or Feliway sprayed on it, and then puts it into the pets carrier to calm them prior to examination. It does work some in the vet office, but I have yet to witness any chance in car trips. And Cheetah has a top notch, deluxe carrier with a very thick, plush velour pillow that fills the bottom of the carrier for her to sit/ lay on, her favorite blanky, the front, sides & top of the carrier have rollup window panels that if she wants to see around her (other than back of the carrier) she can, or if she's in a mood she wants secluded on way into Vet's office then I simply unroll them and snap them close. I've sprayed under her plush pillow, the bandana she got from the Vet's office that I lay in back corner of the carrier, and outside of the carrier 15-30 minutes prior to putting her into carrier to give it time to dry and not be so intoxicating, as well as spray inside my vehicle on passenger front seat area that her carrier gets buckled into with seatbelt at least 15 minutes prior to putting her & the carrier into my vehicle, and I play music that was supposedly created specifically to calm cats during travel, and of course I talk to her frequently, and she still had such an awful time in the car on the way to and from the Vet clinic. We recently decided to take the Vets advice in preventing Cheetah that unnecessary stress by dosing her with 1 ml chicken flavored prescription GABAPENTIN oral solution (since its nearly impossible giving her pills) at least 2 hours prior to our trip to the Vet each time, providing mild sedation effect. We have to reduce any unnecessary stress to the best of our ability with Cheetah because she already has sensitive stomach issues ever since abdominal surgery to remove a blockage & diagnosed with IBD. Stress makes her health problems MUCH WORSE, creates flareups. The Gabapentin DOES work, she's awake for the car trips and vet visits but you can see the sedative effect it has on her (drowsy appearance to her), she doesn't cry nor overly verbal anymore, no longer hyperventilates or vomits during car trips to the Vet, and she now seems intrigued at times trying to look at her surroundings outside of the carrier thru the durable screen. I just don't like giving her any medication unless absolutely necessary, due to her already having to receive between 2-4 prescription meds for her IBD (depending on her symptoms & flareups at the time). But I agree with the Vet in that the significant stress that the Gabapentin prescription prevents for Cheetah, not only during traveling but at vet visits too, the pros far exceed the cons... Hope this info in someway helps you with your cat & traveling (or any others reading this), as I can empathize with trying to prevent a beloved feline from being in distress or pain of any kind. It's horrible feeling helpless!

What are the ingredients of this spray?

The label say15% analogue of feline pheromone, 85% diethylene glycol monoethyl ether.  Whatever it is, it calms cats.  We have two older cats, one of which has gradually been getting more and more agressive toward the other over the last couple of years.  Within two days of our spraying it around the agressive attitude totally disappeared.  I sprayed the Comfort Zone everywhere the cats would eat or sleep: rugs, cat condos, blanket, etc.   The first spraying effect lasted between two and three months.   Since then I spray when the agressive behaviour starts to return, usually at least six to eight weeks.

What kind of feline pheromones are in this bottle?  There are different pheromones for different problems.

I’m not sure. I didn’t even know there was a difference. But I have a tabby and 2 mane coons that liked to use furniture to use as scratching posts. This stuff really works for them. We use it in conjunction with a ton of scratch toys.

Is this for continuing use? Or after one bottle your good? My cat just turned one she's a chewer not trying to use this the rest of her life

Mine is a scraper and this keeps him from damaging furniture. It must be reapplied so, yes, I buy it twice a year.
