I expected something kind of flimsy, and it is very lightweight. The metal rods are thin, the connectors are plastic, and the shelves are this weird vinyl-like plastic sheets that slide over the rods. But after putting it together I'm surprised at what it can hold. In about a year, it's held up well with no issues and every shelf holds at least 2 pairs of my tennis shoes (women's 9) and, depending on the pair, 1-2 of my husband's (men's 12-13?). His work boots are tall, and fit on the shelf tightly. I can even fit my platform shoes nicely on the shelf. We haven't assembled ALL the shelves, as you can choose the height to stop building at, and it's about as tall as me (5'9") with a few more shelves we could build if we wanted to. One or two of the plastic connectors on the shelf has cracked but is still holding up, and none of the shelves has ripped or given way. It's cheap, sturdy and convenient. For a temporary or semi permanent solution, this works great.

I love so much made room for more stuff

Works for what it’s made for but is wobbly so quality is iffy and the storage isn’t for a woman, maybe a good fit for a man. It was easy enough to assemble. I think your money is best spent with another rack.

Great for little money

I bought this item with high hopes that it’d be a great purchase. However, it does not last, it worked ok for a bit and served its purpose until it started to fall apart constantly! Then the white pieces that “hold” it together beoke an it became impossible to keep it together, and collapsing endlessly, even after using tape to try to keep it together, had to remove the items to make it stay put, but to no avail. This item has been a hassle and I do not recommend buying it, as you’ll be disappointed and frustrated with trying to fix it countless times!
