Can this cord be used in the rain?

I suppose if you shield the connections it would work. The cord body could certainly withstand rain. The round connections Are not watertight.

My understanding amps x voltage = watts, so this is max of 7500 w. my generator will be 12500max. thoughts? where to find higher capacity, 50r?

If your genyis 7500 watts running it may have a start max slightly higher but regardless the amperage of your plugs on the generator is a limiting factor. There are usually more than one type of plug on the generator ie 30 amp 240v and 20 amp 120v 20 amp 240v. Best to follow manufacturers recommendations
