strong, clean, easy to install.
Iโm still finishing up my stairs, but one thing became clear after installing the first pair of these DIYHD metal stringers: two alone were going to be a bit bouncy. Rather than adding a mid-span support postโwhich would block access to the storage space under the deckโI ordered two more stringers to stiffen the run. That solved the issue and kept the underside completely open. The stringers themselves are strong, well made, and feel high quality. The factory finish has held up well so far, with no visible chipping or rust. Installation is dramatically easier than cutting traditional wood stringers, and as a bonus you get that clean, modern floating stair look. Compared to precut wood stringers, these are a great value. Theyโre bug-proof, dimensionally stable, and while steel may eventually rust, these will easily outlast wood in the same environment. Overall, a solid product and a smart solution if you want strength, durability, and a cleaner design without mid-span supports.

Probably need to get your own hardware
The stringers work as intended, nice and heavy and sturdy, however the inside bolt holes are difficult to work with. I didn't use any of the included hardware to attach the wood treads, instead I used bolts and nuts attached from the top-down, rather than screwing up through the treads. This worked well. The included hardware is good quality and I will save for some other project.

Great product
Exactly what I needed. It was easy so easy use that I installed myself. The quality is heavy duty and definitely worth the money.

Good, But Holes Could be Placed Better
Good Product all in all, but holes could be placed better. Especially the most forward screw at the bottom step hole. That board has to be off in order to install the bottom rail anchor screws if you have any over hang on the sides. Even then the mount screw has to be pre-drilled and installed at a serious angle if you're anchoring to a wood surface at the very bottom. If the surface is concrete, you could drill and install it in the anchors in the concrete first. Then you would be okay. I expect 98% of the time, they would be mounted on concrete and work out better, but you're not going to be able to get the furnished screws in the step board leading edge hole because the holes are centered. If the holes were off to the side, you could, but even then it would be at an angle. That said. Use 2 X 12 step boards and you will be okay if you don't feel the need to use that hole. Since I was installing the stairs on a wood surface and using two 2 X 6's I already had Vs One 2 X 12's, I choose to use carriage bolts for the step boards. It turned into a lot of work pre-drilling the steps boards for the carriage bolts, but the end results worked out great. I am very happy with them otherwise and they are very sturdy.

These made it easy to create stairs to my deck
I really appreciate how this simplifies the creation of deck stairs. They look nice but it's tough to get all the screws in from the bottom side if that's how you want to install the boards.

Weak and flexible
The product is very weak and flexible; it moves a lot with every step and feels very unsafe.

OK product
I thought this was well-made and worked well for my application. Had some bounce so I installed a center in the middle of the stairs and seems very solid now probably wouldโve been fine. The other way I didnโt like the bounce and the step.

Nice, but not the easiest to install
These seem to be sturdy enough, but the way they are designed, you have to screw in the step boards from below, and it is NOT easy to line them up and screw the screws in. But once that was accomplished, they seem to be working nicely.

Great!
They are great! So easy to put up. They saved me so much time and frustration. When all you need to do is add the treads what could have been an all day or even all weekend project took less than 2 hours.

hard to install self tappers
good stringers, but do not use self tapping screws as there no room to install. after some time I used carrage bolts
