Incredible Brightness: At 1700 lumens, this is significantly brighter than cheap alternatives like Govee or generic Amazon brands. It’s bright enough to be the primary light source in a dark room, not just "mood lighting." True Colors (RGBWW): This is a "White and Color Ambiance" strip. It has dedicated white LEDs, so you get actual warm soft white (2700K) or daylight cool white (4000K) for reading, rather than that weird blueish-purple white you get from cheaper RGB strips. Bluetooth Ready: You don't need the Hue Bridge hub to use it. You can control it directly from your phone via Bluetooth right out of the box. Value: It is cheaper than the standard "Lightstrip Plus V4" kit, making it a great entry point into the Hue ecosystem. NOT Extendable: Unlike the standard Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus, the "Solo" model cannot be extended. There are no pins at the end to plug in an extension. If you buy the 10ft version and realize you actually needed 12ft, you are out of luck. You cannot add to it. Cut = Waste: You can cut this strip to size, but unlike the pro version, you cannot easily reuse the cut-off piece or reattach it. Once it's cut, the excess is trash. Measure your space exactly before ordering. If you need to cover a long run (like a 15ft kitchen cabinet run), buy the 16ft (5m) Solo version or the Lightstrip Plus V4 instead. Do not buy two of these expecting to join them together—they won't connect. If you have a specific space (like a desk or TV stand) that is less than 10ft and you just want the best lighting quality on the market, save some money and get this. It looks amazing. But if you think you might want to expand later, spend the extra cash for the Lightstrip Plus.

It just looks so great and works so well. I am using it as an above cabinet installation. Provides much needed brightness to my kitchen during the day and great ambiance in the evening. Can't go wrong with this brand.

The adhesive on this works well and lets it be adhered around an inside corner (as opposed to the outside where it would bend around a pillar or edge for example). Choosing an elevation near a ceilling gives excellent light coverage with little to no glare, and when it's white it's WHITE, not a bright purple which a lot of cheaper RGB brands offer. The Philips app for smart phones and desktop computers lets you have dynamic lighting, with appropriate setup even to mood match the time of day or full-screen gaming session you're having. I almost didn't consider this because of its high price as compared to other light strip products, but the app support and overall lighting quality and versatility have proved to be worth it.

The lightstrip has been working great for the last year. The controls via the Hue app are quite nice, and can be linked to a Hue wall switch. The sticky tape on the back doesn't always stick to some types of surfaces (like a faux-wooden desk), so I use some plastic brackets to keep it guided and in place. It is quite sturdy once in place. I see no flickering when in use.

I recently invested in Philips Hue light strips, and I can confidently say they are a five-star product! These aren't just lights; they're an experience. The setup was incredibly straightforward, and integrating them into my existing Hue system was a breeze. The adhesive on the back is strong, making installation easy on various surfaces. Where these light strips truly shine for me is in my previously dark and frustrating closets. I have two closets that, for some inexplicable reason, were built without any internal lighting or outlets. Before, rummaging through them was a chore, relying on a phone flashlight or opening the main room lights. Now, with the Hue light strips, both closets are beautifully illuminated, making it so much easier to find clothes and organize. The ability to control the brightness and color temperature has been fantastic – a cool white for practical searching and a warmer glow for a softer ambiance. My only minor gripe, which is entirely due to my house's wiring, is the lack of an outlet inside the closets. This means I have a power cord running out from each closet to the nearest wall outlet, which isn't the most aesthetically pleasing. However, this is a small price to pay for the incredible convenience and improved functionality these light strips provide. If you're looking to add brilliant, smart lighting to any area, especially those dark corners or closets, Philips Hue light strips are an absolute must-have. Highly recommended!

these are great, so far i have not had any significant issues with the adhesive peeling off. i guess it depends on where you stick them (stuck mine on the back of my ikea desk) its really easy to connect them to the hue app via bluetooth, and once you do so its easy to change the color, brightness, and speed of changing colors.

I have plenty of hue lights and these solo strips have the worst colour accuracy of any of them. It's not bad, but not as good. Being cheaper tho it's hard to complain too much
