Great product. Just plugged it into my laptop usb c port and it worked immediately with full 500 Mb broadband.

An important upgrade for a Chromebook
I never knew you could have a wired connection on a Chromebook but this makes it possible for a direct ethernet connection which then hugely improves the speed of working on a Chromebook. It was plug and play- no special set up needed and remains stable as the laptop is opened/closed. Particularly useful if you are streaming live sport to Chromebook as a second screen.

The Ethernet adapter works perfectly and is currently plugged into my laptop with a mouse using the only USB port. The USB-C connection is very snug but not too tight to crape, just requires a bit of a grip - hence -1 star... otherwise it would be 5

Useful for checking ethernet connections
Really useful dongle... Not so much for the obvious jobs (e.g file transfer) On my Android, by switching off WiFi, Bluetooth, and cellular I was able to check my ethernet connections. Just plug your RJ45 in and run fast.com to check connection speed.

Ethernet speed is not compromised
I bought another, an all-in-one. the USB side of it worked fine but the Ethernet speed was unacceptable. This one however, although only for Ethernet works very well. Very happy with the speed up and down.

For when you need extreme speed
As advertised, allowed me to plug Cat6 directly into my usb-c only laptop and add extra down and upload speed not available on wi-fi. Did a speed test and was able to get 247MB/s out of my 250MB/s broadband connection. Squeezing every last MB of performance for when it really matters โฆ. gaming :-)
