A fun build for our 14 year old
This robotics kit is fantastic for curious kids! The ACEBOTT 4 DOF ESP32 Robotic Arm was engaging, educational, and fun to build. The app remote control works well, and it’s a great hands-on way to introduce coding and engineering concepts. Perfect for ages 8–12 who love STEM activities. Great quality and a rewarding project!

Buy Tylenol to prepare for the headache this will cause.
This kit uses cheap parts that look like they came out of a 3d printer. The instructions are non-existent. I spent over an hour trying to find the instructions and then it was a battle to find the code. It also requires special additions to your Arduino IDE to make it work. I managed to get through all of that only to find that it doesn't work! I calibrated the unit and then it won't stand, walk anything. I am fairly computer savvy and have assembled several Arduino projects (I even designed a few) and I still found this to be way harder than it should be. I have reached out to customer service to see if they can help me get this working but, I completely expect to be returning this. I feel like this is a neat idea that was very poorly executed

Great learning tool
Its that time of year to select elective classes for next year. Limited slots. Does our student take a language or tech class? He tried out the beginning of an online language course already, and over break we will work together assembling and programming this kit to see how he likes it, and if he is able to learn from me rather than a teacher. This looks like a decent kit featuring laser cut acrylic parts, similar to what we can make at home with our low powered cutter. It uses 2 18650 batteries (not included) which we just stocked up on. It has no paper instructions at all. The tutorial is a 315mb .zip download with a directory structure mostly full of a few .ino(Arduino), .sb3(Scratch 3), and .pdf files with web links to the programming software which is a separate 865mb .zip download. The .pdf content is well produced in understandable English. There are also assembly videos online that are mostly fast video backed by music with a few voiceovers at critical spots. Understandable, but rapid English narration with an accent. You can create code with drag and drop code blocks similar Scratch, which then generates equivalent C (Arduino) or Python code. I think that is a great way to begin learning multiple computer languages simultaneously, as the core principles and data structures are the same, only syntax is different. I guess he will be learning a language regardless of the elective he selects. This is a kit you can actually build and learn basic programming and robotics from which will be applicable to future projects. I've built and mentored successfully in the past with much worse kits. This uses more of the tools and parts generally available to the electronics hobby as a whole, rather than being limited to a curated and closed off proprietary ecosystem such as Lego. There will be places where you get stumped and don't understand something. But the parts and tools used in this kit are mostly very popular, general, and well supported by the volunteer robotics community. The main board is slightly proprietary, but is mostly Arduino compatible with just a few simple extra helpful things onboard like battery gauge and servo drivers. Very satisfied with this kit.

ESP8266 was not identified on Windows 11 with proper driver installed
Detailed Symptoms: Description: Two ESP8266 chips (containing CP210x serial adapters) were not recognized by Windows 11. No COM port appeared in Device Manager. The driver (CP210x Universal Windows Driver) reported no device detected. When it occurs: Immediately upon USB connection. Both chips exhibit the same issue. Error messages: Device not listed in Device Manager; no COM port assignment Troubleshooting Steps Performed ✓ Installed CP210x Universal Windows Driver (latest version) ✓ Tested two different ESP8266 chips with CP210x adapters - both failed to be detected ✓ Tested on same USB port and same cable with Arduino UNO - successfully detected and assigned COM port ✓ Verified cable and USB port functionality - confirmed working with Arduino UNO ✓ Reinstalled driver multiple times ✓ Tried different USB ports ✓ Conclusion: Hardware (cable/port) is functional. Problem is isolated to the ESP8266 chips/CP210x adapters - both are defective.

Il montaggio è abbastanza complesso però molto carino . Peccato la batteria non è compresa nel kit , dovrebbe essere inclusa .

Been playing with this today . You need to BUY an 18650 battery with flat top (not the button type) and a way to charge it. You'll need to get it before you assemble your robot as you need to insert it fully charged during the assembly. Next You need either a computer ,tablet or phone to go and get the instructions. I was annoyed by this because they are PDF and could EASILY have been included as a printed manual. Anyway we got down to assembling. It is fiddly with very small nuts to position. You get the rest of the machine,in pieces to make of course. The body is acrylic. Parts all look good quality and everything is made to fit without problem. Remember it has 8 legs so the assembley of each will be the same and gets a bit tedious. On assembley, there is software (downloaded with the manual). I also downloaded it seperately incase there was any difference. As yet we havent finished the build. It will take several days . Not that it is long but the particpant's interest Wained and we'll wait till he wants to get on with it again. This is something a sciency or craftsy 10 year old would enjoy. My 12 y old helper likes dismantling stuff but lacks attention so one must be on hand to give a bit of encouragement. We found the video you can watch via a link was very small and while we could understand ok, it was not really more helpful than the PDF. I think the manufacturer should include the battery and charger with the kit as it isnt inexpensive and there really should be a printed tutorial to save all the backwards and forwards when youve got it all laid out to build. Photos are 1. part assembled robot and all the parts included. 2. section of the PDF showing how the instructions are laid out (ignore keyboard thats just a bit of our computer)
