I dont think I have ever been so eager to write a review. This is the best cold smoker I have ever used. I bought this to add more "real" smoke to my pellet smoker. This is the 4th "cold smoker" I have bought. The one prior to this one was the most expensive model and made by "Smoke Daddy", which is easily the most famous. While that was a good product, the design just wasn't right. The air to feed the fire cam in from the very bottom, so after some ash accumulation, the oxygen supply for the fire got cut off, and no more smoke. This one here is a totally different "brilliant" design. It produces easily 3 times the amount of smoke, was much less expensive, more efficient and required no babysitting. You can fill this slap full of wood chips and it works with no issues. It lighs quickly and easily. Just a tip about operation. Learn to use the air volume control on the pump. If you leave it at full, it can burn through a full fill of wood chips in 20 minutes. Your best setting is around 1/4 power. In the pictures, you can see where I drilled the hole to inject the smoke. Ideally its as low as possible and on the opposite end from the smoke stack. In the attached video, the smoke you see is entirely generated from the cold smoker. The grill isnt even on. This is the only one you even need to look at!

This is a good cold(of course don't expect freezing cold smoke, just a little bit over outside temperature) smoke generator if you are lazy to build something DIY. I've built in past a few of them with different designs(different height, smoke tube at the top or at the bottom and etc. ) and when I received this one I said "yep, good design". It produces pretty strong smoke out of pellets and fast to start them because of air flow from compressor. I didn't try it with full load and timer but I would say 4-6 hours seems doable. There is might be one design flaw with bottom lid(this silicone thing which is on the bigger tube) - when it is hot while or just after finishing smoking, it keeps failing out of tube. Not a problem but keep it in mind. Outside of it seems solid and well built - all details looks professionally assembled without any sharp surfaces(usual problem of custom production). In case if you want to start smoking and already have a grill(I was using cardboard box in the past to do cold smoking :)), this device is for you.

OK, nobody eats smoked foods for their "health benefits." We eat them because they taste great! But the unique two-chamber design of this smoke generator surely offers some health benefits that no single chamber smoke generator can. I realized this when I cleaned the auxiliary chamber, not the one with the smoking pellets but the chamber into which the smoke is drawn before it is ejected into the grill via a venturi effect. After a four hour smoke using mesquite pellets, there was about a quarter inch of thick, gooey tar (or "smoke oil") on the bottom of the chamber, tar that did NOT make it into my food! I'd say that is some sort of health benefit! The device was very easy to assemble with clearly illustrated instructions. It came with its own high quality Phillips head screwdriver and a mini wrench to complete the assembly. They provided twice as many stainless steel screws and wing nuts as the assembly required, so there was no danger of being unable to assemble the generator due to a lost screw. The package includes a wire-bristle bottle brush that is used to clean the chambers after use. The fan is quiet and very effective with a lot of variability in the output. I am very, very happy with this purchase!

I've used this cold smoker 2 times and on the 3rd time I went to use it the air pump won't even turn on. First time using it was really easy , pretty easy to assemble but the metal is thin and cheap and cannot stand up to the heat if you try to push the rubber seal in the metal lid bends. You need to use something else to help push and guide he rubber in. It worked pretty well the first 2 times I used it produced good smoke. It was a little noisy but it worked then I went to fire it up tonight and the pump won't turn on. Got 2 uses out of it before it died ... Got 2 stairs for ease of use and ease of assembly. But quality and durability is not worth it Dropped to 1 star seller reached out asking if I wanted a refund or replacement and I said yes and now they won't respond. Bad product unresponsive seller

It’s really nice definitely will throw the smoke. Great price for it. Works great and quality is too. My only complaint is, It’s a SOB to clean. Resin build up is never easy to clean. My wife had to get me 420 cleaner for metal and silicone just to clean it decent.

This thing is awesome! I wanted something that would smoke pellets. I tried one other brand which was highly rated but performed terribly. I think the design was fantastic actually. It was extremely hard to light and keep lit. I tried pellets and two types of chips; regular and extra fine. Even when it was lit, it didn't smoke worth a darn. I think maybe a stronger air pump may have helped. Note: most units advertise with videos showing wood chips added to the chamber although they say they will burn pellets also. This unit is simple! Pour in the pellets, turn the pump on high, light them through each (2) holes, and let it start puffing. The instructions say to run on high for 1.5-2.0 minutes but it didn't take a minute at the most. The full chamber burned for ~7 hours at half power. I hot smoked a rack of ribs first. Easy cook. I set the pump at 1/2 power and still made plenty of smoke. I didn't want to over power the food. I highly recommend this unit. Plus it is half the cost of others! 2 THUMBS UP!!

I was intrigued with this gadget and thought it would work better than pellet tubes inside the smoker. The good: This gadget makes tons of smoke and the amount of smoke can be dialed down easily. It lights easily and doesn’t burn out like pellet tubes. It will run for 8+ hours on a filling. I run it off a phone battery charger, which works great. It can be used to cold smoke meat, cheese, veggies, etc. The bad: It’s pricey. The REALLY BAD: it’s nightmare to clean. Stinky, greasy, sticky tar that is impossible to get off your skin, wood deck or clothes. Lots of ash and partially burned pellets everywhere. So, lay down an old tarp you planned to throw out anyway, cover yourself/clothes with something disposable, wear heavy gloves and have at it. I was told that drain cleaner would remove the tar. Do I want drain cleaner on my food? Instructions were unclear as to how often it needed cleaning, so I’ve cleaned it as best as I could with paper towels and the included brush. Unless there’s an easier way to clean it, it isn’t worth the pain of the cleaning process. Would love to hear from the manufacturer or another buyer who finds the smoke worth the trouble or can clue me in on an easier way to clean it.

This has been a gamechanger addition to my propane BBQ. Ability to smoke everything while on propane just elavates the BBQ to the next level. We don't have time to use a proper pellet smoker (forget the offset smoker). This is fast, reliable and inexpensive alternate.

After two uses the lid started to bend itself due to thin material and also it Burns pellets quite fast on a low setting,never achieved 12h of smoke fully loaded.

Bought it for my friend's birthday and he was well impressed. Used it twice now and he is happy!

Works great! I had a home made smoke generator that would go out quite often especially in winter. I filled the hopper twice and it burned until empty both times.

I was initially impressed with this device, but after using it four times, it stopped producing enough smoke to reach the second chamber. I had a nice brisket ready to be smoked, but no smoke was coming out. Additionally, the device is very messy as the tar stains everything when trying to clean it. (I discovered that rubbing alcohol is very effective for cleaning tar.) I troubleshoot it, clean it thoroughly still not working. Communicating with customer service was also slow, with at least 48 hours between replies. What started with enthusiasm ended in big disappointment.
