These are great project rocks! I am making a rock garden, but these are good for painting, yoga room, desk at work a lot of possibilities.

Silly perhaps but I sent a package of rocks to an artistic family member who was cooped up and feeling anxious during a coronavirus lockdown. She channeled her talents into painting the rocks and felt better -- leaving them around for others to find. And, she said these rocks were just the right size and smoothness to paint. She ended up getting others but then asked me to send another shipment because these are her favorite. So, beware, they may spoil you for other rocks and lead to a rock-painting addiction.

I have a hard time spending money on rocks....With that said, I was very pleased with these rocks, very smooth and easy to use with brush or pens. I am very disappointed to see they have just raised the price $2.00 a bag. I am not sure I can spend 14.99 on rocks as much as I liked them. With more time on my hands I thought I’d splurge and buy these again even though I originally paid $12.99. As you can see above they had changed the price to $14.99. NOW they want $17.99 for them and they’ve reduced it from 14-16 rocks to 12. Nope not going to spend $17.99 for 12 very small rocks.

I use these stones for kindness/smile/happy rock coloring. I use water based multi-surface paint pens/markers, metallic chalk markers, metallic brush markers and colored pencils. I seal the surfaces with a spray-on glossy finish or clear nail enamel. All tools work well on the rock’s surface and the color stays put, even in the hot sunshine. I realize that all stones received by other individuals may not be the same; however, this is what I found with mine. THE GOOD: `All of the stones have a slightly pinkish tone. `All have smooth surfaces and are fairly easy to color on. They are smooth enough to not be overly damaging to paint pens/markers. I sketch my designs with a polymer/graphite lead first, and many times I have to erase. I have found no difficulty in erasing the errant lines created by my fallible pencil lead! Nice. `I received 12 stones…..as advertised. `All of mine were almost 2” in one direction, and one was almost 3” across. They are all a nice size to color on. ‘They look like the picture in the ad. THE BAD: `At least two had noticeable chipped edges; however, they are definitely still usable. `These are pricey rocks! I ordered mine in early March, and now, five weeks later, they have increased $3.00 in price. The current price makes the stones almost $1.50 each! WOW! I received my rocks with each one individually wrapped in lightweight bubble pack inside plastic wrap taped shut. The whole kit and caboodle was inside a bubble wrap mailing envelope. None were broken, and all were covered with a light powder-like residue which easily rinsed off under running water.

These Rocks were used in a BIRD BATH, for the Birds to stand on so they can drink the water or be stable enough to help them take their bath. (WHEN THESE RACKS ARE DRY THE ARE VERY PINK IN COLOR, BUT WHEN THE ARE WET THEY CHANGE TO A COAL PINK. THEY ARE VERY BEAUTIFUL, IN COLOR.( I am going to buy more of them for my other baths for birds. (THESE ROCKS WERE INTENDED FOR PAINTING, BUT I USED THEM DIFFERENTLY.) The bird bath I have is heated in the winter time so they can drink and take their baths. These Rocks really shine in different ways, they are beautiful. I thank the company very much for these rocks I just wish they were more in the bag. GOD BLESS YOU AND FAMILY AND PETS TOO. James D.
