Clear Pipes & Drains Clog Remover and Cleaner, For Shower, Sink, Toilet, Garbage Disposal, 42 Ounce Bottle

IT WORKED! Year before the pandemic, we've been dealing with a slow drain in our old home. We dont have plumber money so we've been putting up with the drain and using a plunger and/or plumr. This year its gotten so bad. Plumr was not working. Plunging stopped working eons ago (I shouldnt be surprised, ignoring small issues turns to big ones) So I've been trying so many brands and so many of their different items. Drano, Green Gobbler, other Plumr types of drain clog liquid. They all werent cutting it. Then in comes CLR. Directions say to use 2oz everyday overnight or when not in use for 7 days. Unfortunately I kept forgetting since tub always had water slowly draining in it or was being used. So i was only able to use it on weekends this month. This week though, the tub completely stopped draining. These past 3 days I've been forgoing a shower and doing the best I could. I was dying for a shower today. About 1/5 of the CLR was all I had, so I poured all of it in the clogged tub and prayed. It did work a lil, after an hour. Just in time for fam member to get ready for work. But drain was still slow. I come back to check for my turn after fam left for work and the drain was back to not draining at all. I later check a second time and see tub is still filled at same level. I broke. Insert frustration, crying inbetween trying to snake and plunger the drain for over an hour. Nothing, still the same amount of water. So I stop to go calm down for another hour and think of game plan to scoop out the water. As I'm about to go get a scoop, I hear a slow light gurgle increase to the most wonderful sound I havent heard in years. THE FAST GLUG GLUG OF DRAINING WATER IN THE BATHROOM TUB. I cried again watching the water quickly drain. Then turned on the faucet at full blast to rinse out the CLR and watched gloriously as the water disappered as quickly as it came out of the faucet. BUY THIS MIRACLE LIQUID. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. AND DONT PROLONG THE DIRECTIONS LIKE I DID. Thank you CLR. I will buy more of this as preventative maintance now for my tub and all other drains in my home.

This is not something that I would call an immediate drain opener. It is something that you would really use on drains that can get clogged up over time (such as bathroom sinks, tubs/showers, etc.) to keep them flowing/draining smoothly. If a drain is running slow you pour about a quarter of the bottle down the drain each day until it starts draining normally. So, it is not like one of the "foaming snake" kinds of things where you pour the entire bottle down the drain at one time and it unclogs it in 10-20 minutes. But, I have successfully used it in my bathroom sink to get it draining quickly again.

I read some of the other reviews and I don't think people understand what this stuff does. It is NOT a drain cleaner per se, no 15 minutes and all clear. It breaks down organic material -- hair, soap, toothpaste over a period of a few days. I poured it in at bedtime since it needs to sit untouched for about 8 hours. It took about 4 days, but it was all clear and my bathroom sink drains like a charm. So remember, it's not a 15 minute wonder like Drano or anything, it takes time. I use it periodically for a couple of days to keep the drain clear and put a mesh strainer over the drain so the hair doesn't clog it up in the first place!

As of this writing, a 24 fl. oz. container is about $23. It's a much smaller container than I imagined. The direction says to use 2 fl. oz. monthly for maintenance, but in reality, it probably won't last as long. If you have an immediate clogging problem, you have to use Drano or Liquid Plumr. The instructions here say to pour a small amount over 5 consecutive days. for clogs, and that's too slow. I would pass on this product. I will use it up for maintenance, but I'm not getting this again.

We had an almost city wide backup during a recent "almost flood" around here. As far as we could tell my lines blocked by something from sity lines, thought it was mine so did usual cleared all house lines basically anything from mine got stopped on whatever the block was and mine went from that Telltale gurgling in the tub when you flush the toilet to all but a dead stop. So much so that it blew off the cover on out flow pipe in basement. After many attempts at clearing it with every trick I know I did some research and ended up buying the CLR which was a good thing cuz we had gotten them almost clear and they blocked again. After fixing the outflow pipe we poured this straight into it says it'll go out 50 ft well my 50 foot auger couldn't quite reach the clog so it definitely does what it says it will. By the next morning my lines were running 100% clear and have been since. Not so much as a gurgle so this is one I will be buying again. Since we knew the clog was over the 50 Foot Mark even if it was barely I had search for something that would hopefully be able to reach it and CLR did the trick considering the multitude of previous attempts and the fact that it was they'll put in and then rinse for nose supposed to be in overnight it was if he still but by the next morning like I said 100% clear literally Save the Day and my sanity cuz I wasn't sure how much more of this I can take.

This product was totally ineffective on my blocked drain. I poured the recommended amount down my drain and let it sit overnight. Next morning, my drain was still totally blocked. The second use, I poured almost the entire bottle into the drain and let in "work" overnight. Next day...STILL fully clogged. Went a major department store and bought their brand of gel drain unclogger...next morning the clog was TOTALLY gone and has remained clear for 3 weeks. CLR drain clearer is a liquid, not a gel. Therefore, it does not adhere to the clog in the pipe. It simply adds more volume to the clog along with a nasty odor. This product does NOT work as claimed, at least in my case. Proves the point that some name brands are worse than generic brands.

Works a little too well I think. A week after using it and had to call someone to clear out the sewer line to the street. I suppose it was inevitable though.

We had a rough clog in our double kitchen sink. We tried baking soda and vinegar, hot water, soap, plunging, snaking. Removing all accessible pipe connections and clearing out. You name it. The clog was deep and in the copper piping (deeper than the exposed PVC pipe). We were ready to call a plumber but gave this product a try first as a last resort. I used more than the recommended amount (oops) for 2 “doses” over 2 days and by the end of the second day the clog was completely gone. *I used 1/2 in the evening, another 1/2 cup the following morning* Not even draining slow anymore. Highly recommend if you have the ability to wait a day or two for a resolution. Will use this as a preventive moving forward as recommended on the bottle. There’s still plenty of left in the container.

Like the active bacteria consuming the grease build up in the drainage.
