Just what I wanted!
If you're looking for a glorified bathrobe, this is not a great choice. If you are looking for a real YUKATA, for a reasonable price, this is great! As other reviewers have mentioned, the fabric is a little stiff. But it is not uncomfortable, and is 100% cotton. No weird smells, and the design is as pictured. I'm very happy with this purchase. It fits me better than expected. This product was made in China. Other details: -I wear a size 18 in women's pants (16 at Torrid). If your hips are wider than mine, the yukata probably won't fit well. I'm at the upper range of the LL size. -if you are around my height, you may want to use an extra cord to tie the bottom half of the garment to the right length, then fold the top half over to cover it followed by the belt that came with the garment on top. I did this in the photos. -The yukata has 4 strings on the inside to help it fit right.

Beautifully made for the cost!
I purchased this Kimono for a photography session to commemorate the birth of our little girl. She is half Japanese. My husband is full Japanese and he moved from Japan to live in America. We realized that we would love to be able to show her a glimpse of the culture that she is also apart of, knowing she would not experience Japan the same way my husband did. This kimono fit beautifully and I did not feel uncomfortable, scratchy, or have any problems. I’m 5’5, and 232 lbs. My only notice of the dress is that it was very long on me, but I’m a little shorter. My biggest concern before purchasing the kimono was if it would fit me, as I am a plus size woman. After arriving, I noticed quickly that I did NOT have to worry about that. I had plenty of room to fit! For the cost, quality, design, everything was beautiful and very reasonable! I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to try and purchase a kimono! It was very easy to wear and looks amazing! 😊

It was very pretty and I would purchase another!
I bought this kimono to wear for the Japanese parade in NYC. The colors were nice and it was a very pretty garment. The fabric was a lot thinner and stiffer than i expected. It gave the feel of like one of those Mesh bags you get from the grocery store. It still was nice tho.I think I would buy again. It doesn’t come with an obi either, bought that separate.

Lovely garment for lounging or going to an event.
I bought this as loungewear. The fabric is an interesting square waffle type of weave similar to what I’ve seen on a military fatigue jacket. It isn’t quite as dense, however. Still clearly made to last. It is a bit stiff coming out of the package. I solved that by giving it a wash (which is good practice anyhow for new things) with vinegar in both the bleach and fabric softener compartments, alongside the detergent. It came out soft with plenty of body still. I imagine you can probably get it a little softer with another wash of same method. It’s gorgeous, very comfortable and doesn’t overheat you. It’s a rather luxurious feel, actually. I’ve only worn it around the house, but can see it being worn to go out. While the fabric is lightweight, it’s not transparent. The only adjustment I’ll need to make is the hem length. But that’s easy and I never expect ready to wear to fit *exactly* to my short self. Definitely love this!

Beauty, Comfort, And Femininity In One Garment!
What a company! It is very refreshing to find a Japanese company that is bringing the beauty of Japanese dress to the U.S. and the world. My husband went to Japan for work, and any yukata or kimono that was not an exorbitant price was cheap and flimsy. Now, I have a beautiful, comfortable, and functional yukata that does not break the bank! The best part!?! It is sized for American women, so no more ordering and only being able to get your pinky into it. :) This company takes its customer service to a new level and beyond. They are very interested in what we Americans would like to see made, so drop them a line sometime! It is very nice to have a garment that is breathable, beautiful, and makes you feel special when you are staying at home. If you are in the market for something different and terrific, you will love this. Ten stars! +Míchaëla PS they wash well, and the stiffness goes away by the first wash. :)

Good size, unpleasant fabric.
It's hard to find kimono in American sizing. Not all of us are built like the delicate beauties in the photos. This fits! I am so pleased about that. Unfortunately the fabric is very stiff. No amount of washing or softeners have changed it. It doesn't drape nicely. It hangs like cardboard.

Beautiful kimono
This robe has a generous fit. I'm 5'7" and this goes right to my ankle. It also wraps double in front, so no gaps. I love the linen-like material, which is ideal for wearing after a shower. It's a bright, lovely pattern. If you've never worn kimono sleeves, these are big and may get in your way. But I'm used to tucking them behind my elbows and I love how graceful they look. Excellent quality stitching, and it laundered well. I machine washed and air dried it, and no shrinking.

Avoid if you are plus-sized
I wanted a light cotton robe for the summer, just to wear around the house or over a nightgown if things got a little chilly. The description states that this garment corresponds to US clothing sizes. I purchased the 2x, which fits me fine in all the other clothing I've bought from Amazon. I could barely tie the little ties that hold it closed and the front only overlapped by a couple of inches. Also, I'm 5'4" and it dragged on the floor by a good 6 inches. I know, you're supposed to hitch it up and then tie it with the obi to make it the right length, but the fabric was so heavily sized that it was the consistency of wrapping paper so there was no drape or flow to it. The sizing also made the whole thing horrendously scratchy. The print also didn't match the picture; both the goldfish and flowers were the same bright red and orange combo and the background is a much more vivid peach color than shown. I sat down after I finally got the thing on and somewhat adjusted, and the ties on the inside popped right off. Since it was worn and damaged I didn't think I could return it. So I washed it to take the sizing out, dismantled it, and made a midi skirt out of the fabric so I would at least get something for my money. If you've got any kind of a belly on you, avoid this one.

I believe this product is made in China
When I was purchasing this product, I assume it is made in Japan. Until I open the package and saw the chinese writing. The fabric is too hard even after washing, makes it uncomfortable to wear.
