Diverse but slight pacing issue
We have a picky-eating two year old and liked that the main character Carly kind of resembles our daughter. The text itself is slightly blurry but the illustrations are vibrant and it's clear what each of the dishes of food are depicting. The story does a good job at describing how picky-eating can stem from a place of preference towards bland carbs and uncomfortability with unfamiliar foods; the pacing for the first part of the story is good. Then, the story rushes through trying new foods. Carly is at this spend-the-night birthday party and is faced with a table full of new foods. Suddenly, she's just eating all of them because she's hungry and her friend says they're good; Carly seems to like all of the dishes (which is great considering they depict iconic international dishes). Our daughter is only two so we just make up a few more lines about the experience of trying the foods but for an older kid who can read, the ending is rushed.

Cute
Very clever story with super cute illustrations. The characters are definitely relatable for kids an s even for parents. If I had any critique it might be that the words are a little too small. I had to zoomed in really far to read them. Great book overall.

Great way to introduce new foods and cultures to kids
I love the theme for this bookโ to get kids to try and experience different types of foods and flavors. On top of it, this book also introduces kids to different cultures and foods associated with each country. My daughter loved this book and I look forward to reading this to my son when itโs time for him to start solids and eat real food!

Really lovely way to explore fussy eaters. Beautiful illustrations too
This was such a lovely story about Carlyโs foray into trying new foods. When sheโs stuck at a sleepover party she has to try some new foods and itโs not as bad as she thought. A familiar problem for lots of families and this is an adorable way to explore the topic with beautiful illustrations. The text is really child friendly and is a joy to read.
