Modified to fit my needs as a 2.5mm balanced to 3.5mm unbalanced adapter
I did not buy this to use it with the intended purpose. As soon as I got these out of the package, I cut one cable in half and started modifying it so I could adapt a 2.5mm balanced IEM cable to a 3.5mm unbalanced output on my AMP/DAC combo. In terms of the build quality, this cable seems reasonably well built. The 2.5mm jack feels very secure where the 2.5mm plug has a distinct snap into place. The 3.5mm plug side looks consistent and feels secure when plugged into the 3.5mm jack of my AMP/DAC combo. The cable itself and the conductors inside are perfectly reasonable for light-duty applications. I don't think this is a suitable solution for anyone that is rough on cables/equipment, will be using it in a situation with a lot of movement, or frequent plug/unplug cycles. It is simply not built or intended for those sorts of situations. For any use case that is light-duty, this adapter does exactly what it should! As for the pinout, this is a direct 1:1 adapter cable. It simply takes the 2.5mm TRRS (4-wire) plug of your device (headphones, headset, etc.) and adapts it to a 3.5mm TRRS (4-wire) plug without moving any of the wires around.
