38 Gauge Aluminum Foil - 12 Inches x 25 Feet - Copper Roll Only

A few months ago I undertook a project to build a bar in my house and I fell in love with the idea of having a copper bar top. However I was hoping to do it on a budget and other options for pure copper tops were quite expensive. I looked around and found this product and I LOVE IT! It is not pure copper, I believe it is a thick aluminium, with a copper finish. It is fairly easy to work with and is strong enough where it doesn't bend randomly. However it is easy to take the copper color off if you scratch enough, so be gentle. Coming out of the roll, it retains its shape to make sure you flatten it either before or after applying it or even try adding effects with embossing if you are competent with it. After laying down the copper foil, I poured epoxy on and it held up well. Attached are some images of the bar top (before the epoxy pour and after). It was a bit of an amature job and on a tight budget so it wasn't perfect but I love the way the foil adds that nice copper pop and we get loads of compliments on it. For the price I think this is a great product for all arts and crafts. It is sturdy and it looks great.

I thought the quality was even better then I had read and expected. There are so many fabulous uses for this and I was very satisfied! specifically, we used it at a swim team party to make Christmas ornaments. The kids used popsicle sticks to emboss it and colored Sharpies to decorate it. We tied them with a ribbon that was from a couple beads to. They turned out so lovely. :-)

The first time worked with foil I was hooked but for 3 sheets (5x7) a little over $6 i thought was a bit pricey for me. I never brought the craft foil from local hobby stores because I didn't think it was what I wanted. I was hooked with the over priced craft sheets it did wonderfully in my ebosser just had to run it through a few passes. It is thicker than this brand but I like them both. With this brand you can tear with your hands it's not cooper. With the other brand I purchase which you get from your hobby shops that sell mostly men hobby things like trains and it is a .36 gauge and it's cooper all the way through. I will continue to purchase both. I will put up a youtube video for both applications using die cuts if you want let me know.

The foil performed as well as we could have hoped. No separation of copper from backing.

I ordered two rolls of this stuff, separately. The first came in a large box with another item, and arrived perfectly intact. The second was ordered by itself, and it was shipped in the most insufficient packaging you could imagine. The second arrived crushed and torn, but i needed it for a project, so i made due with what i could. All in all, five stars for the product itself, which is a nice, thick foil (about 3x the thickness of heavy duty tinfoil). 1 star for the packaging with the second roll ordered, but if you make sure to include something else of largish size with it, it should arrive fine.

I have purchased this foil in both gold and copper finishes from Amazon. Of all the foil that I have purchased, this is the only aluminum-based foil that can be embossed by hand without the colored finish coming off. I can cut it easily with household scissors and it runs through my Cuttlebug embossing/die cut machine without any problems. I am an artist working in mixed media and use the embossed foil to create large, elaborate collage pieces. I was lead to believe this was a copper roll, used for craft projects. It is NOT copper, and it will not oxidize. I thought I was getting real copper. For a few more dollars I could have had the real thing, but I was confused by the description provided by Carpe Diem. When I received the rolls I didn't question anything. I looked and handled just as I hoped, so I didn't experiment with it. Now, it is past the window for returns, so I am stuck with an expensive roll of aluminum with a "copper" coating that will not oxidize like real copper.

The weight of the copper is good for copper tooling. Copper on one side, silver on the other side. We did precut for our guests and covered the edges with painters tape to prevent cuts as it is sharp. We drew with pens and stylus and tooled with pottery tools, the eraser end of pencils, a wooden match stick (the larger ones, not those from a package of matches) and manicure tools. Easy to work and fun to do. Very reasonable cost.

Love this product. Used this for a project with grades 2/3 and the children succeeded in creating amazing artwork based on nature images. Easy to feel successful, easy to work with, lovely product. The kiddies were harsh but no holes appeared, very substantial product... the relief was lovely both on the copper side and the silver side.

Easy to use - no issues - used it to glue on wooden roof of birdhouse. Silver did not come thru from other side as other reviewers said. I rubbed it numerous times as layered slats to glue the copper foil on
