A deck with 75 accessible exercises for toning the vagus nerve to manage symptoms related to stress, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and auto-immune discomfort. Informed by polyvagal theory, these exercises focus on creating a sense of calm, vitality, and connectionโinspiring a deeper feeling of safety while activating the bodyโs natural ability to restore balance. The vagus nerve, often called the "soul nerve," plays a special role in our autonomic nervous system (ANS). The ANS regulates many bodily processes, including our stress response. When we encounter an external threat, our stress response kicks in, triggering a cascade of physiological changes to help us adapt and protect ourselves. Like a helpful friend, the vagus nerve steps in to restore balance. It exerts anti-inflammatory effects, promotes relaxation, and supports immune system regulation. With the exercises in Vagus Nerve Deck , youโll learn to harness this power and foster resilience in the face of life's challenges. Inside this deck you will find: EXERCISES FOR CALM, VITALITY, CONNECTION. A key to feeling balanced is nervous system regulationโunderstanding when your body needs to rest, activate, and find safety in connection. Cards help readers identify what the body needs and respond with a related exercise. AN INTEGRATIVE, SCIENTIFIC APPROACH. Exercises are founded in scientific research, offering accessible techniques proven to regulate the nervous system and create a sense of physical and emotional relief. A NERVOUS SYSTEM PRIMER. An introductory booklet breaks down how the nervous system works, what role the vagus nerve plays, and how our safety responses are best understood through the lens of polyvagal theory. USER-FRIENDLY LANGUAGE. Many resources on the vagus nerve are clouded by confusing, clinical terms. This deck gets down to the science of safety in a way you can relate to, understand, and put into practice right away. Review: Best Purchase Ever!!! - This is one of the best purchases I've made in a long time. The creator of this Melissa Romano has certainly placed a lot of thought and creativity in this product. As a creative myself, I do see the quality of her work. The color coded cards are beautiful. This card pack delivers more than I had expected and the price was great as well. I wish there were more demonstrations on some of the cards and I realize spacing might have been an issue but there are demonstrations on many of the cards however and it was easy to read so no worries at all. Otherwise, this was one of the best purchases I've made in a long time for self-care and it Delivered!!! I just tried some of the techniques and the "proof is in the pudding". I feel very relaxed. I purchased to supplement a health issue and I believe it is going to be a great addition to my lifestyle change and healing results. Its easy enough to pull a few cards and begin working on yourself. This delivered overtime for me!! Thank you. Review: useful set of cards - This deck is so useful. There are 3 kinds of cards: vitality, calm, and connection. The little booklet associates the categories with autonomic nervous system states. There are 25 of each. The exercises I have tried have been helpful. The cards don't seem to have original ideas -- I have seen many of the ideas elsewhere. Examples: box breathing, 5-4-3-2-1 grounding, self-hug, and voo sound. Enough are new to me to make it interesting. It is nice to have them in card form in once place. They seem to be what I needed. The Calm cards even help improve sleep. The cards are close to 4x6, with rounded edges. The box is sturdy and opens up like a book, and doesn't have the kind of lips that sometimes bend cards. Print is pretty large. Deb Dana has a polyvagal deck of 58 cards with much more original options. She's very invested in the theory, so those may be better overall, and the included theory is probably more up to date. I like the Vagus Nerve Deck because these cards have more of a quick start feel -- easy exercises, fewer words -- great for stress. I'm glad I have both decks.

Great Without the Polyvagal Theory Nonsense
The Polyvagal Theory is pseudoscience that has been disproven. I was disappointed to see it mentioned in this deck. That doesnโt mean the deck isnโt useful as vagus nerve stimulation has been proven to be effective for relaxing the nervous system. I wish therapists would stop promoting Polyvagal Theory as it makes them seem woo woo and they can get the same point across without it. This deck has some wonderful suggestions for vagus nerve stimulation but it would have been better if the instructions for each card were more in depth. Like gargling. The card should instruct to take a deep breath first then slowly breathe out as the person gargles to allow them to actually reach 30 seconds each time. Instead, it just says gargle the water. I was also surprised ear massage wasnโt included. Overall, the cards are high quality and a nice reminder of exercises for a nervous system reset.

Neuware?

Perfect way for me to learn and practice the exercises!
I have been wanting to start doing vagus nerve exercises for a long time but struggled with implementing and figuring out which ones to do and how to do them. This deck is perfect! Each day I pull a card and it only takes 1-2 mins. A great way for me to learn and practice the different exercises. The instructions on the back of each card are easy to follow and the print size is great!

Too easy.
I learned a lot from my psychosomatic physiotherapist. These cards were disappointing, repetitive and easy. Returned the deck.
