This board is great! I did buy the felt stickers for the bottom so the board doesn’t scratch with use. Several other reviews recommended this. The magnetic strength is still solid even with the felt stickers on the bottom of the chess pieces. I really like the size of this larger version, as I think the smaller one would have been too small. I also like that the pieces actually look like chess pieces. I have a bunch of littles running around our house, bumping into tables and such, so it’s really useful to have chess pieces that stay where they are put even when bumped, and can even be rolled up and put away for later if needed! The board is very foundational, and worth the money if you enjoy chess in more mobile and/or chaotic situations.

This is an absolutely fantastic chess board. The ease of being able to just roll it up and take it anywhere has never been better with any other chess board. The size is perfect, a full size chess board that rolls up to about the size of an insulated water bottle. The board and pieces feel very durable and should hold up well. The weight is very manageable and can even be played by holding the board with your hands. While a bit pricey, I do feel the value is there since you are able to pause your game and take it with you anywhere to resume your game.

We have other chess boards but we play this one all the time because it's easy to deploy. The fact that you could put it away in the middle of a game and all the pieces will stay put is really neat (though we always finish our games). Get it!

Nice travel chessboard. Well constructed. The pieces stay in position very well when rolled up, and can handle some jostling without moving around the board. A hard drop will of course dislodge pieces, but that's to be expected. It does come in a nice cardboard tube that acts to help protect it. I like that the pieces have cutouts vs the smaller version of this board where the pieces are all the same and just have identifying pics on top. Although the small version is much more compact and still great if you're traveling and space is an issue. I own multiple boards in both the small and this larger version. I use them often to study games. Its very convenient to roll up and throw back in my bag and get out later to finish. I've also given a couple as gifts.

I own two smaller boards and the XL. The smaller boards come with a nice travel bag. Would be nice if the XL came with or had an option to order a travel bag for it. I keep it in the cardboard box it came in. Other than that the boards are great.

Nice travel chess board. Only complaint is the paint on the board gets scratched.

this is a very cool board that looks nice and is very portable however the pieces scratch up the board like CRAZY if you slide pieces. this is honestly unacceptable for a product at this price. the solution is to buy 1/2 or 1/4 inch felt pads and put them on the bottom of the pieces. this compromises the magnetism if the pads are too thick. the pieces should come with these felt pads pre-applied, or should use some scratch-resistant paint instead played 2 games until I noticed the scratching

Standout magnetic chess board because it has storage space for pieces during play. Also includes second queens for a complete set. Good strength magnets, smart design. Very portable. Only minor downside is the king/queen are a little difficult to distinguish and everyone that plays it will have to get used to it. I prefer this set to the smaller one for the piece design. Love this Seattle brand!!!

El ajedrez está muy padre. De tamaño ideal para tenerlo en casa. Viene en un empaque cilíndrico y trae un par de reinas extras. Le faltó una bolsita para poner las piezas al terminar de jugar pero como estás se adhieren perfectamente el tablero simplemente se enrolla y listo.
