Good Solution for a Quick Summer Time Cool Down
I recently purchased this great LifeMaster 8000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner, and Iโm satisfied with my experience! This unit cools my bedroom (12 ft x 12 ft) room quickly and efficiently, even during hot summer days. It's been over 90F here in Pittsburgh. The 3-in-1 functionality (cooling, dehumidifying, and fan modes) makes it versatile and convenient. Installation was straightforward thanks to the window included kit, and the remote control is easy to use. I am a single guy in a big house so I got this so I can turn my main HVAC off and save money! Overall, I would recommend the LifeMaster 8000 BTU Air Conditioner to anyone looking for an affordable way to cool down a room. I'd get one of the higher BTU LifeMaster units if you have a bigger space. Have a great week everybody!

Nice little unit for a dorm room
I bought the 8000btu unit for a small dorm room. It works very well for that purpose. It suited our needs of not requiring any permanent or damaging modifications to the window to install. There is an expandable panel that fits inside a small window opening, which fits the exhaust hose. There was nothing to permanently attach to the window. There is a drain pan for condensate. We raised the unit up and ran a hose out the window for it to be able to drain continuously since itโs very humid here. I liked the adjustable louvers on the front to direct the cool air wherever wanted. It operates quietly. Just fan noise, which isnโt very loud. Easy to sleep in the same room with. Provides comfortable temperature and less humidity.

Flawed but gets the job done
Worth the money as it works well despite flaws. Produces cold air to immediately cool the area infront of the fan and eventually whole room. My exhaust hose would not attatch to the window kit or ac unit, works and seals well with enough duct tape. The window kit that was supplied is thin uneven plastic that leaves cracks without weather stripping. The plastic provides poor insulation especially when it comes to noise, sounds and feels like the window is open. As with other AC units, it will alternate between silently idle and audibly compressing, with no apparent setting to have the circularting fan stay on, making it difficult to sleep wether or not you appreciate white noise. Since these issues can be fixed with simple and common DIY solutions, the AC unit is well worth the purchase considering the affordability and performance.

does the job well
I wasn't sure if these types of air conditioners would work well, but it surprisingly keeps our bedroom really cold! I also appreciate that when it's in cool mode, you don't have to drain the water, as it self-evaporates. I only wish there was a setting that would allow the cool air to run continuously without the thermostat eventually shutting it off, which wakes us up in the middle of the night. Because of that, I will give it 4 stars. Recently, I noticed a strange smell coming from the unit that resembled a possible coolant leak. It could have been due to a dirty filter, but I cleaned it. Nevertheless, I contacted customer service, and they sent me a brand new unit, so Iโm giving it an extra star for their excellent support!

Not a good AC
This unit is not good for a camper. I have a 24 foot travel trailer, so room is limited. I bought this after hearing it's good for RVs. The exhaust hose is a royal pain. It's not really a "flexible" hose (such as a regular dryer hose) and connects to a window set up that's much too large. One slight movement of the unit and the hose forces the hose to come apart from the window mount. Once installed and running, it only dropped the temperature down in my camper 2 degrees after three hours of use. When I viewed my electric meter while using the unit, the wheel rotated faster than an airplane propeller making me believe that it's not any kind of money saver vs the AC that came with my trailer. I gave it a shot, but returned it the same day. It did not work for me.

Rear radiator fins don't have removable filters
##BE WARNED the radiator fins on the back bottom are not removable and dust will accumulate and lower performance. I personally cut out the plastic fence to make cleaning it super easy.

Quick to cool
This has been perfect for cooling down our upstairs which is always hotter than the rest of our house no matter how cool we set our air conditioner. This makes it comfortable for my kids to sleep at night and play in the their room during the day. I like that not only does it cool our rooms, but it also has a built-in dehumidifier which helps to remove excess moisture from the air. Also some nights all they need is the fan modes. I like that it can be customized to whatever our needs are from day to day. It operates quietly and I can move it from room to room as needed.

Doesn't do the job
I really wanted to like this whole, "portable" a.c. movement, but it's not for me. The unit is powerful and blows really cold air and far at that. The problem is, the hose get really hot and since it's inside your bedroom or any room, it's like a cancellation war between the cold air blowing out the front of the unit, and the hot air building up from the hose in the back. You can take a chance it if you like, but I'ma go back to the classic a.c. units. They sit in your window, drip the water itself and blows the hot air out. My bedroom feels comfortable, but not cold enough for a NYC walk-up.
