Because my kitchen floor is ceramic, any dish I drop shatters! So, I was looking for smaller, attractive melamine dishes and found these plates......they are really beautiful.....in fact, they LOOK like ceramic because of the thickness and the beautiful edges......so, I love the color and the feel of these plates, as well as the fact that I won't cringe and/or have fewer plates if I drop them! Now, I will order the matching bowls because these dishes feel so perfect :-)

I really looked forward to these but was disappointed when almost every one of the six had some kind of flaw. Some are color flaws. Some are surface scratches that won’t rub off. One is a surface crack you can feel with your finger. I will still be able to use these for casual and outdoor dining but if they are already scratched just in packaging and shipping, I expect them to scratch under ordinary use.
