Amazing Jacket for SoCal, Summer, or Beginner Riders
TL;DR - this jack is pretty amazing for the price. Air flow is insane • quality is on par with Oxford moto gear and gives Merlin a run for the money • comfortable and flexible in all the right places • ideal for hot(ter) climates, summer riding, and should be a go to for beginners’ intro classes or parking lot drill sessions (weather permitting). • Height: 6’ 0” • Weight 185 / athletic • Chest: 43” • Size Ordered: L • Fit: PERFECT! • Temp Range: 70° - 110°F // can get down to 55 with a thick sweater as a base. I ride in Souther California along the coast, inland, and just about anywhere I can. This jacket is 100% a summer jacket for most places (it’s mesh after all) BUT you can get away with wearing it in cooler weather as long as you wear a sweater (or a base layer and sweater) underneath. In warmer climates, this can easily be a 2-2.5 season jacket. Where the Iron Jia may fall short in terms of name recognition, added flare, and street cred, it more than makes up for it in FIT, FEEL, and PRICE. FIT: The main complaint I have with other Motorcycle jackets is the fit of the armor (pads) - specifically the elbow pads. BUT THIS JACKET? OOOOOOH WEEEE - it fits like you want it to… with a little input that is. Iron Jia included Velcro closures in multiple places within each armored pocket allowing you to position the elbow pads higher or lower along the sleeve. You only have about 1.5 inches to play with, but that makes a world of a difference. AND the additional positioning of the customizable Velcro strips also ensure that the pads stay in place. In a Large, the jacket fit me snug, er, fitted like it was tailored for my body. Sleeves: I have slightly larger than average arms (not massive), and I filled the sleeves just fine with a bit of room to grow into. Smaller arms? There are straps on the upper sleeve to cinch down fabric. I cinched the Velcro just a tad but let it out after a few minutes. Velcro at the cuffs allows you to custom fit the sleeves around gloves and wrists to your liking - I have slightly above average wrists for my size and had plenty of room - not only did I cinch down the cuffs but I had plenary of room for a tighter fit if needed. Neck: I have a proportional neck circumference for my build. The neck strap has two buttons for sizing, and I found that the looser setting was the only viable option. Length: also perfect! Long enough to cover the top part of your pants and loop into a belt loop, but short enough for aggressive positions on a cafe racer. FEEL: I initially bought this for a 1-day skills class I was taking. Speed was kept at / below 25 MPH… keep this in mind for later. Temp was 93°F in the sun and we were learning on hot asphalt. I wore a t-shirt + this jacket and had no problems at all. Did I sweat? You bet (I’m only human). But I didn’t feel hot in the jacket - rather, the jacket didn’t make me feel exponentially hotter or uncomfortable. I could keep it zipped and buttoned to the top and still be fine as I sat on a hot bike engine in the hot sun. And when it was time to ride? Dude, I can’t even begin to explain how nice this thing felt - it’s mesh after all and in the summer it just feels good! With just a T-shirt under the jacket, I didn’t have any rubbing and there were no issues with seams or scratchy material on my skin. PRICE: Now, for about $50 - $60 more, you can get the Merlin Prospect Air Mesh… but this jacket is just as nice and more importantly, just as safe! Value is the word one might use. Yes, the back pad is just foam, but the shoulder and elbow armor are the same D3O pads you’d find on a more expensive jacket. Plus, this jacket is not meant for super high speeds - is it better than wearing a T-shirt? 1000% better! Is it a track-ready? Nope. But it’s a great jacket for leisurely rides or around town. I use it while running drills or if I need to just run to the store real quick. It’s light weight, easy to wear, and looks great as it is. The black color is even and deep. The reflective strips are a nice added bonus yer are not obnoxious or in your face… they’re subtle yet effective. And as far as I can tell, the quality of the jacket is top notch and I expect it to last a long time. Just get this thing already!

Was skeptical at first, not anymore
I live and ride in the midwest and we have HOT and humid summers. The heat index has been in the 110+ range for the past couple of weeks. I wanted to find a jacket that was protective AND cool. I didn't think I would be able to find one that could keep me cool enough during these hot days, but this jacket does. I'm 5' 10", 170lbs, 40in chest and the medium fits me well. It's a little short, but that's ok.

Not bad
Good for the price. Sizes run a bit small so up the size one from what you normally wear.

Comfortable, Well-Ventilated Jacket for Hot Weather Riding
I purchased the XL size and it fits well. The jacket comes with all the necessary armor inserts for the elbows, shoulders, and back, and installing the pads was straightforward and easy. I ride in Florida’s hot weather, and the ventilation works surprisingly well. Airflow is good enough to keep the jacket comfortable during summer rides without feeling overly bulky or restrictive. I chose the black version, and while the white accents look good, they are not as reflective at night as I expected. Overall, this is a solid motorcycle jacket for under $100 and offers excellent value for the price. However, if nighttime visibility is a major concern, you may want to consider additional reflective gear or a jacket with more prominent reflective elements.

Hands down the best lightweight armored jacket!!!
This Jacket is lightweight, with excellent ventilation and comfortable armor that is positioned correctly once installed. If you live in a warm, humid climate, and are shopping for the ideal protective wear while riding your motorcycle, look no further!!! I immediately returned other jackets, because I knew right out of the box that they were too heavy. They do run small, which I knew after reading reviews and before ordering. My husband normally wears an XL, and I ordered a 2XL for him. Because this is a men’s jacket, I would normally have ordered a Small (which was unavailable). I ordered a medium, and because they run small, it will work for me. We both love them, and we will recommend without hesitation! 5 stars ***** from us!!!

You will not regret getting this jacket
So far the best summer riders jacket with decent amount of protection, i had to adjust size from large to xl because it was too tight on my arms, and if its tight to your skin it will feel hot due to no air movement, the material is good, however its designed has those features that i chose this jacket, it is tall, it has back flap that keep your back covered while riding

Size chart is definitely incorrect.
Size chard is definitely not right. I made my order based on the presented size chart. I'm 6' 240lbs. I couldn't get my arms in it. The upside is that it fits my wife perfectly so she just got a new jacket.

Great summer jacket!
Athletic fit. I weight 175lbs, 5’7” with 33” waist. Jacket fits comfy border-lining snug. Arms fit nice, not baggy so padding will stay in place. Pretty good ventilation overall, hence why I bought it for the hot summers. Comfortable all around. I just can’t gain any more weight.

Soddisfattissimo!
