This misquotes repplent did absolutely nothing—mosquitoes were still everywhere. No noticeable effect at all. I regret buying it and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

I love my Thermacell mosquito repellent. It really works. It is not cheap, but since it works, I must say it is a good value for the money. The refills last a long time. Generally I can get 2 to 3 uses encompassing several hours out of each one. Will definitely buy again.

I have always reacted strongly to bug bites. Mosquitos and other bitey bugs love me, and I get big reactions to their bites. Not a great combination, especially for someone who lives in a very buggy area in the Desert Southwest. I've tried lots of various bug deterrents, but Thermacell is the first one that has actually made a huge difference in my outdoor experiences. It takes a few minutes to warm up and create a barrier, so usually my husband takes it out and sets it up before we plan to go out. There is a detectable scent - I don't find it either pleasant or unpleasant, but it's there. But this thing works. Before we started using Thermacell, my daughter and I were getting dozens of bites, and were absolutely miserable. After we started using Thermacell, the bites went to near-zero. The refills are very easy to use, and they last an acceptable period of time. If we forget and leave one out overnight, we'll have to replace the refill, but if we use it only when we are outside, it lasts a while.
