I bought one as a test, then I went back and bought a second. I’m about to buy my third. When I see a product that looks a bit underpriced, like an iPad-thin, lightweight 15.6” color display for $42, I get suspicious. I also get intrigued. If it works, after all, that’s kind of a score. I ordered one, and it arrived just as I was testing an HDMI-to-HDMI over Ethernet setup. I figured I’d test the display and the HDMI connectors at the same time. I was pleasantly surprised. Not only is this display very light and thin, but it has a clean, crisp image. It’s also extremely versatile. After I finished the other tests I was working on, I decided to run this display through the gamut. Connected to an Acer with an HDMI port, I had to use the mini HDMI (not the small one, the middle size) connected to the HDMI on the Acer, and then use the USB-C port on the laptop into one of the USB-C ports on the monitor for power. That’s fine. Better than fine, actually, because it’s less effort to plug both cords into the laptop than to reach for another wall plug nine times out of ten. Next was the test on my 2022 M2 MacBook Air. I was again pleasantly surprised when the display worked with a single cord—one of the USB-C ports on the monitor to one of the USB-C ports on the MacBook. I had to use the USB-C cable that came with the display—it’s a pretty thick cable. I was not able to replicate the same result using a thinner USB-C cable. The next test was my iPhone. One USB-C connection from the display to the iPhone, and the other USB-C port had to be plugged into a wall adapter for power. In all cases, the display looked great, and there was no noticeable lag in animation when using this monitor as a secondary display. Did I mention this display is thin and lightweight? Multiple ways to power it—that’s helpful—and I can use it easily with a variety of different machine types. That’s a productivity dream. I thought about it for a few days and decided I could use another. Then I got a Raspberry Pi 400 and thought it was a crying shame that I didn’t have a nice white display to match the red and white of the 400. The first two versions of this display I ordered were black. The white version is a little more pricey at $49 instead of $42, but even at that price point, it’s still extremely reasonable. There is one odd thing: if you intend to use the cover as a stand by folding it under—a strategy I’ve seen used by countless tablet and iPad covers—when it arrives, the smooth side of the cover is on the outside. Fold it under and use it as a stand, and the display falls right down. There are two screws holding the cover on. Remove them, flip the cover over, put the screws back in, and the cover works just fine as a stand. If you want to keep the smooth side on the outside, a piece of soft plastic shelf liner under the front of the display will give it enough grip to keep it standing.

This screen is awesome for the money you’re spending on it. It works great, and is super thing which is great while traveling. Is it as good as the screen on my MacBook? No. But I don’t need it to be. This is my second screen that allows me to manage files and other activities while I edit my videos on my main screen. So for my intended use this is perfect, and if it breaks, I will just buy it again.

While not the best display on the market by any stretch, I give this monitor 5 stars because of the value for the money. It runs at a pretty basic 60 FPS, has standard 1920 x 1080p resolution, and has acceptable color accuracy. Nothing here blows me away, but for the price and convenience of a small display, it works great and is extremely reliable. I use mine sideways underneath my camera for video calls, which has been working great for me. I also put it on my own stand, which works okay, but what's nice is that you can get a VESA mount and put it on a stand properly. I just don't own one. It's very easy to use, you just need to plug in the power and your display cable. Or, if your device supports USB-C Thunderbolt display, you can just plug in one cable which will charge and output the display signal. Very minimalist, from an aesthetic point of view, which I like. Black bezels and nothing too fancy. I haven't traveled with it yet, but it seems pretty durable, and it has a little case that you can put it in for travel.

This monitor is pretty good. The screen quality is amazing for the price point. My only complaint is the speaker quality, however is does have a headphone jack if you want to easily hookup your own speakers or if you want to keep things private with headphones. It’s thin enough to place into most laptop bags or backpacks which is very convenient. For setup all you need to do is plug it in, so there’s no setup stress.

I was looking for an inexpensive screen for a digital picture frame I'm building using a Raspberry Pi. The AYY 15 inch Aa5G1B looked like it would fit the bill, so I decided to try it. I REALLY like it! I've recently used other portable monitors, and I really wish I'd got this one instead for that application as well. It's a great size for my need, and it would also be great as a second monitor for a laptop. It's light enough to carry with a laptop. It is able to be used with a DP-enabled USB-C port alone, or it can be externally powered and used with a standard HDMI output. It comes with all 3 cables to do either, as well as a USB power supply (5V, 2A). Even though it's light, it also feels solid and able to withstand the rigors of life on the road. The cover is also the stand for the screen while in use. The biggest thing I like about this cover vs the others is that it's actually attached to the monitor's back with a couple of screws. The cover stays attached while setting it up. The other screens I tried are simply held in place magnetically, which is sort of a pain. The screen has a native resolution of FHD (1920x1080). The image is bright, crisp, and clean. This is the case of both the single-cable use on a USB-C and on my Raspberry Pi using the HDMI output and the external power supply. While I'm not a gamer, the response time is plenty fast to watch a FHD 60 FPS video without any problems. Something I didn't see in the description was the warranty. The screen comes with a full 1 year warranty. If you go to the website and register it, AYY gives you an additional 2 year warranty, for an explicitly expressed 3 years of warranty coverage. That's exceptional for any portable monitor, let alone one that sells for $50 in the US! I only just got it today, so I can't vouch for the longevity of the monitor, but a warranty like that gives me great hope. I honestly don't have anything negative to say about this thing at this point. It gave me a great first impression on unboxing it, and after 5 hours using it so far, my opinion has only gotten better.

Pretty impressive for something that costs less than $60. It's a thin, lightweight aluminum slab that provides a reasonably (see below) good image and response time, and basically performs as advertised. No particularly weird design choices or major flaws. No dead or stuck pixels out of the box that I could see with a quick inspection. I want to point out a few things though. I did a quick test with my colorimeter, and of course it's way too blue out of the box. Bumping the green and blue channels down from 50 to about 41 gets it closer to 6500K but not exactly as the controls aren't precise enough. I measured a contrast ratio of about 900:1 after adjustment and fairly mediocre color and gamma accuracy overall. But, again, it's a sub-$60 display, so this isn't a surprise. Another thing is that the matte anti-glare coating is very heavy. The whole picture is noticeably soft and grainy which is probably more noticeable at a higher brightness. This is probably fine for most use cases when it's advertised as "portable", but it's something to be aware of. One other thing I noticed in the OSD is a "FreeSync" option, which is not advertised anywhere and surprised me to find. I can't test if it actually works as I don't have a modern AMD GPU to attach it to. I also don't have the tools for testing input latency or response times. I also didn't test the HDR or speakers as I don't plan to use them. It specifies a 5V 2A power draw on the back and comes with a corresponding USB power adapter and USB cable. However, while testing it with a USB power meter attached, it usually drew about half that, and at a brightness of 29 (which gives 80 nits after color adjustments) it was actually able to be powered from a PC's USB 2.0 port. I would not recommend doing that, but it seems like it would work in a pinch. Also, there's no branding on the chin like it shows in the pictures. The front is totally blank, which is great. The included Type C to Type C cable seems to be a 10Gbps cable, so that's a nice bonus if you want to use it for something else like external storage. Really not a whole lot to complain about at this price point. Would definitely recommend this as a cheap extra display.

Quick setup! Easy to connect to my laptop just used type c cable then started! If you want extended your monitor you need to setup for extended monitor settings see my photos. My laptop is 2024 Lenovo it’s working. I think bright enough for me. Stand is built in you can not change angle but it’s okay. There’s not brand name on your monitor which is fine. Quality is good for the money. I just needed extra display for my trading. Hope last long!

I got this as an extension for my 13.3 inch laptop. I mostly needed it so I could run a digital audio workstation on one screen and guitar modeling software on another, although I have already begun using it for a lot more and I like it. It is a basic screen, to be sure, but that is all I needed. The 1080 resolution and 60hz aren't gaming material or anything, but for $45, this is a great value to me. I got mine to match colors closely enough to be happy with it, even if it won't match the main screen in color or sharpness. Most things, including text look good. Skin tones are noticeably worse, if you compare photos from side to side, so I wouldn't use this primarily for anything photo related. But, again, for $45 for a portable screen with a cover, which was a requirement for me, it's great. I haven't had to plug mine into an outlet at all. My Lenovo Yoga 6 powers it from the USB c port just fine, so having one cable to send the video and power is awesome, because I wasn't sure if it would do that. Big win! I hate having a mini HDMI, instead of a full, but it's a compact form factor. I used to have a little pico projector and I was always having to look for an adapter for the mini, so keep the included HDMI to mini HDMI in a place where you won't lose it, because finding adapters is a pain. However, I am impressed that it even comes with that cable and all the others, for this price, and the cables are good quality. Oh, and you will also need to make sure you don't lose the USB-C to C cable, because you will not be able to send video to the monitor with a standard USB-C cable, even if it has data transfer; it requires a cable with DP-alt mode to display video, which most aren't. The controls are also well thought out. The dial/button on the right side and the back button are actually very easy to use. Roll it up to quickly adjust brightness, roll it down for a volume slider, and just press it to adjust the other settings. I love the simplicity of that. I never even looked at the instructions and it was very intuitive. The only shortcoming is that the cover is also supposed to double as a stand and, it is very difficult to get it to stand and remain in position during even light use, without falling down, because the indent is very shallow and the frame is, of course, plastic. ANY light bump and it will slide and fall backwards (thankfully backwards), since the bottom is slippery. I immediately knew I would need to do something about that, and there is good news: I found an easy way that is working for me. I wanted to put a little electrical tape or something on the bottom, but it was about as slippery as the plastic. I found some adhesive rubberized dots at the hardware store (I was looking for black, but only found clear, but that's ok). They were small still wider that the frame was deep, so I cut one in half and stuck one half against each of the 2 little plastic tabs on the bottom of the monitor, and, viola! It stands upright, much more securely, and I have even shaken the table on purpose and it hasn't fallen once, and since the feet are on the bottom, and the cover wraps around the top, they don't interfere with anything and are pretty low profile, although, I'll switch them for black if I find some, just to really blend them in. Take a look at the photos to see what I mean. I don't expect them to stay permanently, and I'm sure one or both will fall off, unless I want to use a strong glue, but, for now, I solved the only problem I had with this, and the adhesive dots came in a 12 pack, so I'm all set. I highly recommend something like that, if you want to prop this up, because it is nerve wracking otherwise, but that's the only real issue with this, and you really can't beat it for the price. I'm very happy to have gotten this. I am amazed at the functionality for the price. I can easily recommend this. UPDATE: I just used the HDMI for the first time and the colors are very washed out, like the saturation is half of the USB C signal. And when you hit the menu on HDMI, it brings up a different, almost unusable menu, instead of the USB C menu. I tried going through the horrid menu and turning up all the colors, but nothing fixes how bad it looks. It's a shame, because I talked about how good the menu was, until I tried this and it wasn't there. If you are using this as an extension monitor via usb-c, it works great, but I also wanted to be able to use it with my firestick or Google TV streamer through the HDMI. I tried it with both sources. It works, but looks terrible on both. I tried it with the xbox as well, with the same result. Washed out, dull colors. I don't understand why it would look so much worse and have a worse menu on HDMI or why it wouldn't at least use the same settings as the USB mode. I have to take off a star for it. I hope there will be an update. I don't know if this can be updated, but I'm going to look, because this is bad with HDMI. Update 2: there is no firmware update. It says there IS no forward to update, since it is plug and play and has no drivers (then where does the menu come from?), so the bad color cannot be fixed, unless mine is just bad.

It actually turned out better than I expected; it has great colour, great size, and does the job that's required. For 62 euros you can't go wrong here. Now I haven't tested the speakers as of yet I do wish it were touchscreen
