Heck yeah, it actually works!
Update: Iโve had this clever little cap on the same tube of silicone pictured in my original review for over a year. I store it in my non-conditioned garage which not only has big temp swings but also high humidity. Yesterday I pulled out the silicone for some work in the bathroom and after 6mos of sitting in the garage all it took was a twist and pull of the lil black rod to get it out and boomโฆsilicone squeezed out as expected; no issue with dried up plug of silicone in the cap or tube at all. Just saved $10 right there alone as I would usually have had to go buy a fresh tube due to curing out in my hot humid garage over summer months. Thank you Silicone Saver friends! So over the past couple weeks I had some things that needed sealing; rubber surround on shower door, leaky taillight on my truck, adding sealant where an aftermarket wire goes through the firewall on my truck. Each time the built-in mini nozzle worked awesome vs having to use those clear traditional nozzles that I have to replace after each job is done. Also this cap is built beefy. You can tell the cap is prob 50% or more material vs the one that came with the silicone tube from Loctite. Def seems like it will be able to be moved to a new tube once Iโm done with this one. And prob best part of all, the tube isnโt drying out between each time Iโve used it! Just pull that lil rod / plug thing out of the business end of the cap and itโs time to go fixing stuff vs running back out to a famous big box store to buy a new tube. In that regard this thing is already saving me time and money. Iโll def buy a couple more for any other new types of squeeze tube sealants I get. Update - 2yrs later, same tube of silicone STILL not dried out after being stored on a hot garage shelf. This lil gem is amazing!!

Make the nozzle plug a bright color!
Theyโre definitely pricey, but they work really well. I feel like they pay for themselves with the money you save on the tubes you donโt have to throw away, and the product remains usable no matter how long it sits on your bench. If you use a tube squeeze grip handle, you can pretty much completely empty a tube of sealant with virtually no waste. It lays down a good bead too. My only complaint is the black nozzle plug. It needs to be a bright color. Lay it down or drop it somewhere, especially in an engine bay and itโs gone. It just blends in with everything else, and itโs impossible to find.

Works Great
This is awesome. You do have to push pretty hard to insert it enough to start threading it onto the tube. It allows you to make a beautiful bead of silicone and then seal it up with the black piece. Hasn't hardened up yet and I've used the silicone 4 times.

works
works as intended. small center probe will fall out if it is jostled around in a toolbox too much. keeps silicone fresh for several weeks and doesnt break right away like the factory caps do.

Needs a bit of muscle
I used this thingamajig on a 3 oz tube of Permatex silicone sealant. It did not screw on smoothly. I wrestled with it for several minutes until my fingers started to cramp. I thought 'Oh crap, the cap isn't wide enough'. In desperation I cradled the cap in a rag for better traction, and just jammed and twisted the thing on. It worked. Will update when time comes to withdraw the rod/stopper. Also, the rod works well for when you just need small, fine amounts of goop; like for hobby needs.

It really works.
First, the cap is beefy. The problem I always have is the cap that comes with the silicone tube is a toothpaste grade cap. I frequently split the caps trying to get them tight enough that the silicone doesn't cure in the tube. You can put these caps on tight. The lance is genius. I tested this out by squeezing out a dot of silicone, then put the lance in the cap and pulled it out three days later. The silicone was uncured and in perfect, ready to use state. Best of all, I thought I was paying seven bucks and change for one. But no, it's two of them. I call that a bargain.

Not for Honda techs
It looks like a great idea but not for honda techs. It will NOT fit Honda bond tubes, thats the only sealant I use and is not compatible! On my opinion Honda makes the best sealant on the market (Honda bond) I use it even for non-honda vehicles. It will be great if it fits the Honda Bond tubes.

Save the Silicone
Was working on a project for a few months and this cap worked great to keep the silicone from drying out. I didn't realize it came with two of these, but now knowing that, I'd say it's a good value since I had to buy a new tube even after sealing the nozzle with plastic wrap and a rubber band. Had I bought these first, I would have saved a few more bucks. The stem pushes the silicone back into the container about an inch or so and it comes back out easy. No fuss. They are also reusable if you use up your tube.
