Easy Setup
EZVIZ CH1 Chime Pros : Easy to setup. UK plug built in. Power it up, add to the app via its QR code and assign to the doorbell. Doubles as a WiFi booster. Cons : maximum volume not really loud enough. Fixed (only 20) ringtones, not user definable. Overall okay for £20 but room for improvement.

Don’t waste your money
Biggest load of crap for silly money. First I bought the video doorbell only to find that it needs a chime (why would a doorbell not make noise?) so I bought the chime. I shouldn’t have bothered because I cannot hear the bloody thing anyway! What a load of rubbish. This is without the subscription you need to buy. Bad product, don’t waste your money

Do not trust firmware update or the support team
So I set up the chime. It worked fine. I was then advised to update firmware. When I did all ezviz went offline. Great job ezviz. The items needed to be reset which was a massive pain. The chime? Well it was BRICKED. This is how Ezviz handled it: Dear EZVIZ This does not explain why a faulty firmware update wiped out the system and I can’t video that. Is it not possible to email me a working firmware for the chime? I attach a video showing the strange beeps and one showing reaching 90% then not connecting (as one video file). Please be aware it was working fine before the firmware update. The moment the update finished all connected Ezviz devices went offline (see and read previous email please). I also tried EZVIZ PC studio, with the edited App onfig.ini file however it did not force settings into advanced mode, ie did not work. Best wishes Their reply?: Hello, Thank you for contacting EZVIZ Tech Team. Please follow the steps below to configure the camera to the Wi-Fi using an empty SD card. 1 Please create a file as shown below on a notepad or word pad on a computer. 2 Please change the name of the file to "ezviz.txt". The content should be ssid: (username of your home Wi-Fi) password: (password of your Wi-Fi) type: (leave blank) You don't need to input the parentheses. 3 Then power off the camera and remove the micro SD card from the camera. Then copy "ezviz.txt" to the micro SD card, making sure the SD card is empty before transferring this file, and insert it into the camera. 4 Then power on the camera and wait for 5 mins to allow it to configure itself. Once the WiFi is configured on the camera, you will see a blue flashing light on the camera, then please go ahead and add the device on the app. If it still not work, please try to use the second phone's hotspot to try. Thank you and look forward to your response. Best Regards, They clearly don’t bother to read the email. On the plus side they replied. Despite being incredibly irrelevant.
