S40T 2.1 ch.Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer, TV Synergy, Wow Interface, AI Sound Pro

Paired with an LG TV, the AI sound pro setting pairs very well with this soundbar. I was worried when reading the reviews which said the sound quality and subwoofer bass was very low; however, you have to know how to use this unit. Using HDMI eARC produced really low quality sound and poor bass. However, using blue tooth and optical produced excellent sound and hard hitting bass. The issue could be caused by your TV's ARC sound processor or simply a low quality HDMI cable. You should test with all modes (optical, blue tooth, ARC) to see what works for you. Considering the cost I paid for this (currently on sale for under a hundred) it sounds very good. The only short coming I would say is the remote control itself. It is pretty difficult to navigate the sound setting using the remote alone and you really have to read the manual to know what you are doing. However, you can use the LG ThinQ app to control the sound modes via blue tooth so that helps a ton.

Sounds much larger than expected given total size of the package. Comparable to much larger sized bars in high price tiers! One thing to mention, there is no actual text display to change settings such as EQ/SUB dB settings, so the easiest way ends up being downloading the app and connecting to bluetooth for the purposes of EQ or other sound adjustment. 99% sure these settings are applied universally in all input modes, even when not in bluetooth mode. Seamless integration with eARC given HDMI premium cable, which is not included in the box (cheap options available). Big upgrade compared to normal integrated TV speakers. Fits nicely between legs of TCL 55” TV

Received and installed yesterday. Installation went smoothly, no hickups. We were using Sony tv speakerbar and subwoofer and these made a world of difference. Much more compatable than the Sony speakers we were using and sounds 2 degrees better. Don't skip the LG subwoofer. It does make a difference for very little more money. Please note there are no screw holes on the bottom or rear for mounting. These would be a good addition. I can highly recommend these if you have a late model LG tv and not overpriced You won't be disapointed.

This works OK for the price. I did not get a whole lot of sound difference. I found it hard to adjust the sound except using the control that device that came with the unit. So now I have one more thing to use with the TV, LG controller, Comcast controller and this sound controller.

Got it on sale and do not regret it. Has a great sub that is almost too loud for a small room, but thankfully you can adjust it. Great for music and movies.

This item was produced terribly. The sound was very cheap and boom box-like. When news anchors were talking, their voices protruded through the subwoofer. I currently have the Samsung 2.1 ch that came with mounting brackets and it's a way better product. Sound quality on the Samsung blows this one out of the park.

S40T (2024 model) My first issue with this product was that I wanted to mount it to a VESA bracket, but alas, it has NO mounting holes. Had to purchase a 3rd party shelf. I agree with the other 3-star reviews about sound quality OK, but not great. For streaming channels that do movies with Dolby or DTS, it can provide better sound than what you'd get from the TV's own speaker. I don't think the wireless woofer adds much, but it's likely content dependent. On standard TV sound, my older ZVOX sound bar had better customization control. I bought an LG TV this year, so I was attracted by the fact that I could eliminate using a separate Sound Bar remote, and thus control sound volume using just the TV remote. The instructions say that will work ONLY if you use the OPTICAL output, but that is wrong! TV remote only controls the sound bar volume if using the HDMI/ARC connection. BUT there is a down side to doing that. With the sound bar connected to the HDMI/ARC output, it takes a full 30 seconds after powering on the TV before you start to hear sound. During that 30 seconds, the sound bar is waiting for a wake up signal from the ARC HDMI connector, the screen flickers once or twice, and eventually you get sound. You can get around that 30 second wait by powering on the sound bar from its own remote first, but that brings us back to using TWO remotes, which I was hoping to avoid by having both devices by LG. The sound bar WILL however power off when the TV is powered off. The ST40T remote can be used to set other sound customizing functions, but it is not at all an intuitive remote, other than power, volume, and mute. You can also use the iOS or Android apps for customizing sound, but, again, I don't want to have to use my phone or tablet in addition to the TV remote. The bass, loudness, and treble controls on the apps don't do much anyway. In fact for several days, I thought they weren't doing anything. I eventually concluded the effects were subtle. LG is retiring these apps, trying to push everyone to using their THIN Q app which can control other LG appliances. THIN Q has the same functionality and controls for the sound bar as the sound bar standalone apps, but it's a marketing gimmick to get you to start buying all LG appliances, I guess. I am being generous with 3 stars. I probably should have stepped up to one of the other 3 LG products in their sound bar family. But the price point and discount on this one was about as far as I was willing to go. As I am using it now, I can keep the sound profile on STANDARD sound and thus I only need the TV remote for control.

Great item. Easy setup. Sounds great. I'm using it with an LG tv so working with my tv remote (HDMI ARC conmection) is a plus.

Good sound quality

The sound quality is quite impressive, and all the connections seem to be functioning smoothly. However, I did observe that the mid-channel (center channel) may not be as prominent, which may result in more instrumental sound than vocals and low dialogue volume in films.
