This Chinese Vegetable Cleaver is now a staple at my cutting board.
I've used this 7-inch Chinese Chef's knife for a couple of months or so. It was received sharp out of the box. This knife is quite visually impressive, well finished, attractive, and easy to handle. Packaging was more than acceptable too. The shape of the blade combined with the luster of the Pakkawood handle is stunning and immediately captured my attention. Its looks begged me to search for finishing flaws. I couldn't find any. The fit and finishing of my 7-inch Vegetable Cleaver is impeccable. The balance point seems to be located perfectly at the location of my pinch grip just forward of the bolster, which is remarkable for a cleaver-type blade. The push cut performance of this knife on vegetables is really great. You would expect this knife to excel at chopping...and it truly does. It's edge and it's heft make quick work of carrots and potatoes while it's still nimble and sharp enough to slice delicate herbs such as Italian Parsley. I like using this TUO Vegetable Cleaver knife so much, it has quickly become my go-to knife and it remains within immediate reach of the cutting board. Honing on the Chef'sChoice Pronto Pro Diamond Hone 4643 keeps this knife in wonderful shape. This knife is an excellent value and I think most home cooks like me will be very pleased with this TUO Chinese vegetable cleaver. Other than a multiple knife discount for purchasing several TUO Fiery Phoenix series knives at the same time as this purchase, I've not been compensated in any way for my review. In truth, since this purchase, I now very much favor TUO knives and own a variety of knives from TUO's Fiery Phoenix series, the B&W series, and I even bought three knives from the TUO Ring series. GOOD stuff! UPDATE, 9/27/17: I am so impressed with this particular knife, I purchased my second 7-inch Vegetable Cleaver during a Lightning Deal. I felt I wanted a spare on hand in case this production knife was discontinued in the far-off future. If TUO Cutlery were to produce this particular blade shape in VG-10 steel with a Damascus finish, I would purchase it in a heartbeat. This knife is just stellar as is! But a VG-10 steel blade with a Damascus finish will make this knife even more appealing than the current Five-star rating this knife has already earned to date.

Wife loves the handle, weight and balance
I bought this for my wife. She has increasing joint pain and had mentioned that a couple of her knives were hurting her hands when she had to use them for more than a few minutes. We are not knife snobs (most of our knives are Victorinox, Global, etc.) but we *do* care about them. I was leery about buying a cheap Chinese knife, but I took a chance on this knife, mainly because of the handle shape and the decent reviews. She has been very pleased. We've only had it for a few weeks so I can't say about long-term durability or edge-holding, but they came out of the box sharp enough (again, not snob sharp, but as sharp as our Chef's Choice sharpened knives), and they've held up for a few weeks now. The thicker, rounder handle feels better in her hand, and she appreciates the balance, with the center of gravity a bit more toward the handle. The handle is attractive enough, but know that it's not really what a normal person would call "wood" (that is, cut from a tree and put on a knife). I'm not *exactly* certain what "pakkawood" is, but if you told me it's really a composite material (you know, sawdust and plastic binder), I'd believe it in a second. The color and "grain" are printed on, which is not what I expected, but it *should* have been what I expected when you consider the (very low) price. Frankly, we're both fine with it: you can't expect more for this price, and it's probably a lot less fussy this way anyway. Besides, fit, balance, sharpness and durability mean a lot more than handle material. For what we've been able to experience in a few weeks, this knife is certainly good enough, even before you consider the very reasonable price.

I'm impressed!
I received my first Tuo knife yesterday and all I can say is WOW!! I wish I would've discovered their line sooner. I ordered 4 during Prime Day and received this 4" paring knife first. I figured I'd get the great pricing and if I didn't like them I can always return them. I used it to dice onions and peppers and trim the fat off chicken thighs. It cuts like a hot knife through butter, literally. I have Shuns, Henckels and a couple of other Japanese knives, and the Tuo is as good out of the box as they are at a fraction of the price. The knife is beautiful to look at, it looks and feels like a well-made knife. I LOVE that it has a bit of a thicker handle like German knives. That's the thing I don't like about my Shuns...the thinner handle is hard on my hands over extended prep sessions, because it's almost like a pinching grip. As a fall chicken (as opposed to a spring chicken :), that pinching grip really bothers my hand. The Tuo's handle is a bit bigger in circumference and feels a lot better to me. Like many others, I wish it came with a sheath of some sort, but that's not enough to knock a star off imho considering the very economical price point. Only time will tell how long it will stay wicked sharp. I do hone and sharpen my knives with whetstones so I will report back in the future as to the blades' edge retention, but I suspect it will stay sharp a long time. Even at its normal price, this is a knife worth getting, it makes prepping a pleasure.

Wasn’t sharp out the box.
It’s a decent knife. Two stars simply because it wasn’t sharp out of the box. Wouldn’t slice a grape tomato without some effort, it’s an inexpensive knife but should still be sharp enough to slice a tomato. I may send it back. Update, seller contacted me and sent me an another knife free of charge. I uploaded a video showing how it wouldn’t slice thru a grape tomato, the first one I used is the one that wasn’t sharp and compared its sharpness with the smaller knife which I’ve had for years and as you can see the tomato don’t lie. I will add a two stars for the seller making it right. I haven’t used the replacement yet, once I do I’ll update my review.

Beautiful design.
Beautiful design. Replaced an old worn out honing rod. Heavy, thick and very durable. Fits perfectly in my knife organizer. Easy to use, good grip and quick to sharpen. Good value compared to others I was shopping.

Nice knife, but not as sharp as people claim.
This is a beautiful, well constructed blade and handle. Its weight and balance are very good. It’s packaging was excellent. Blade dimensions are within the lines of more expensive knives. The cutting bevel is good, but I wouldn’t call this knife very sharp out of the box. I plan to hone it on a 400 grit diamond stone, and finish with 1200/1400 grit stone. I’m sure it will be razor sharp after that. All in all, this is a very nice blade and should give years of service.

So sharp and comfortable to use. Love it
These are great knives at a great price. I’ve had a couple of them for years and have not needed to sharpen them once. I’ve bought them for friends and family as gifts.

Beautiful craftsmanship, excellent kitchen tool!
Like the Santoku knife we received, this chef's knife is beautiful to look at, very comfortable to hold, well balanced and very sharp. It performs all tasks with minimal effort. And like our Santoku, this knife was beautifully boxed and made for a very nice gift presentation.
