works well for curly hair
I have a sensitive scalp and my hair dries out easily. My hairdresser used this at the salon and my hair looked and felt great. My scalp is normally dry and occasionally itchy. After using this I have had no dryness issues and my scalp feels clean and moisturized after using. The product is not heavy on your hair and leaves your curl soft and bouncy. The product is expensive but it will last for awhile since I only wash my hair weekly.

Good product, works well on curly hair that is light weight and tends to frizz
This is a fine shampoo. I don't think it's any better than others in it's category, but it smells good and does seem to pump up the curls a bit without frizz. No greasiness with the shampoo and conditioner. Good price for what it does! I have areas that my hair can get knots, and so far I haven't had that. Nice size. I think it works well, and I would buy it again. It is less than most product you buy in a salon and frankly as good, so I do recommend it. I really like the scent quite a lot, and it's light and pleasant.

Neutralizes Alkaline Desert dust!
I bought Redken’s acidic bonding curls shampoo and conditioner this year for my daily showers in the extremely alkaline Black Rock Desert. This is an environment where daily whiteouts leave everyone covered in dust, and the alkalinity, like an acid, will eventually eat away at and corrode all the things. Redken’s acidic shampoo and conditioner were perfect at neutralizing this alkalinity and keeping my long curly hair healthy for weeks in this kind of harsh environment. While a bit on the costly side, in many years spending time at this event, I haven’t found any other product that works works so well at countering the alkalinity. It’s also important that the bottles be small, very secure and not leak at all, which Redken delivered well. I did use simple strips of packing tape to make sure they would not leak in my checked luggage on my flights out to Reno. Even with my long hair and spending an extended time there each year, each bottle had sufficient product to last for 2-3 years of use, I feel. It certainly opened my eyes to considering the Redken brand for other things in the future, as well!

Not sure it’s effective and it’s pricey
I remain skeptical that this expensive product that may increase risk for sunburn (what??) helps my hair curl better

Great curl routine when used together
The shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in conditioner all work really well for my curly hair, especially when used as a combo. The shampoo cleans gently without drying my hair out, the conditioner adds softness and hydration, and the leave-in helps lock everything in. Together, they make my curls look more defined, less frizzy, and much easier to manage. The leave-in in particular helps keep my curls moisturized throughout the day without weighing them down. I’d definitely recommend using all three together if you want the best results for a simple curly hair routine.

Game Changer!!!!
Wow such a game changer! Definitely recommend if you have curly hair! It makes my curls so nice without that frizz. Having the sculpting curl gel and hydrating curl cream as well tops it off! Love Redken

Excellent shampoo!
Excellent shampoo! I definitely noticed a difference in the softness of my hair after my first use and it only got better the more I used it! I have bleach blonde, naturally curly hair that is always dry! I would probably recommend using this with another shampoo and alternating them, as using citric acid too much or over a long period of time non-stop can cause breakage. A few times a week helps keep my hair strong and moisturized though! I would definitely recommend!

Nourishing Shampoo That Defines Curls Without Weighing Them Down
I’ve been using the Redken shampoo designed for curly hair for about a month now, and I’m pretty impressed. The formula is moisturizing without being heavy, which is perfect for my thick, wavy curls that tend to get frizzy. After washing, my curls feel softer and more defined, with less of that dry, crunchy feeling some shampoos leave behind. The scent is subtle and fresh—not overpowering, which I appreciate since I use other styling products afterward. It lathers well and rinses out easily, leaving no residue. My only minor gripe is the price—it’s a bit on the higher side compared to drugstore brands. But given the quality and how gentle it feels on my scalp, I think it’s worth it for anyone serious about curl care. Overall, it’s a solid shampoo that helps keep curls healthy, bouncy, and manageable. I plan to pair it with the matching conditioner for even better results.
