Vegan Pie: In the Sky : Isa Chandra Moskowitz, Terry Hope Romero: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Yummy vegan pies for the making - I got this book after I had tried Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World, by the same authors, and found it very successful. Like its two counterparts, Vegan Pie in the Sky is full of great vegan recipes and advice. There are sections advising on ingredients, equipment, and technique, as well as metric conversion charts, useful for those who, like me, don't use the American systems of measurements and temperature. The book includes recipes for crusts, fillings, and even a few toppings. There are sections on fruit pies, cream pies, harvest pies, and chocolate pies. Many of the recipes have tips and some have variations. Whatever your taste in pies, you're sure to find something delicious to make. I have many bookmarks in my copy of the book and can recommend the Cosmos Apple Pie and the Lemon Mousse Pie as some of my favorites. If you want to try some sweet vegan pies, this is the book to get. Review: They've done it again.. - After their two previous vegan dessert books - Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World: 75 Dairy-free Recipes for Cupcakes That Rule and Vegan Cookies Invade...

Best pie EVER!!
I bought this book after getting the Cookie book for Christmas. It was definitely A WORTH WHILE BUY, THE PIES YOU MAKE OUT OF THIS ARE amazing! The instructions are so easy to follow, which is good as I am a relatively novice baker at the moment. With the help of this book, and the Cookie book, I have been baking a lot more and don't even remember why you would need a pie to be non-vegan. I don't get any complaints about the lack of eggs or dairy from my omnivore husband or friends either!

I couldn't wait for this to arrive when it was finally published. I have the other two books in this series - Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar and

yummy !!!
It has recipes for pastry at the front (short section), pie recipes in the middle, and recipe extras at the end (short section again). Slightly disappointed that they used 'shortening' (veg lard, like Trex for example) in the pastry, as this only adds to the calories (100g=900 calories), but if the pies are only a treat now and then, then perhaps it just might be worth it !?!?!?!? Either way I'm sure the recipes could be tried with the shortening, and then tried with all margarine. There are some (obviously) American ingredients used in the book:- like graham crackers for example, but it is after all an American book. And as they are only used as a biscuit type base for cheesecakes, I'm sure other biscuits can be used instead:- plain, ginger, lemon etc All-in-all it is a good book with loads of yummy recipes in, and it has some lovely, wonderfull combinations to try

Fantastic.
The pies are delicious and the recipes easy to follow. No one can tell the difference between 'normal' wheat dairy based pies and these. In fact they taste nicer. My husband has been diagnosed with numerous food intolerances and this book and its sister books on cookies and cakes are invaluable. Cannot recommend highly enough.
